Just announced a moment ago: I don't want this to turn into an application discussion. Just wanted to let you guys know when the deadline is because it hadn't been announced yet.

here's the full msg for those who didn't get it: AMERICAN NINJA WARRIOR We're back for Season 8 and it's going to be the best season yet! To apply, fill out our online application via www.ANWtryouts.com and upload a 2-3 minute submission video (on the last page of the application). The submission deadline is Sunday, January 17th by 11:59pm (PST). Don’t procrastinate, the sooner you submit the better! Please note, the site will save your application progress, which will allow you to go back and add additional information, until you click "SUBMIT." DO NOT click "SUBMIT" until you have completed the application, uploaded 2 photos and a 2-3 minute video. (*Please be patient while uploading your video... depending on formatting and file size, it may take a long time.) SUBMISSION TIPS: • Make sure your video has a strong introduction with a lot of energy and personality! Remember, this is a TV show!! DO NOT just include a voice over, we want to see you talk in front of the camera. • WHAT IS YOUR STORY? We want to know who you are, in addition to being an athlete. Are you a janitor, a doctor, a mailman? Who inspires you? Why are you running the course? We want to learn all about you! The 2-3 minute video should be a nice combination of personality and athletics. • SHOW US YOUR ATHLETIC SKILLS! Your video must include athletics; to prove to the network you can handle the ANW course. • If you are using a smartphone to film your video, make sure to hold it horizontally (sideways). This will maximize your screen. • On the last page of the application, you will need to upload 2 photos of yourself. Make sure at least one of the photos is a headshot, where we can see your face clearly (i.e. no sunglasses, hats, blurry photos, etc). Our casting team will be a huge resource for you. If you have any questions, feel free to contact us via email at ANWCastingTeam@gmail.com. GOOD LUCK!!

For what it's worth they've been open for a couple months now, this is the first actual announcement of it and first mention of closing date

Fair enough ♥ Though most kinda ignore it until there's an actual deadline anyway.. and to be fair.. they won't wait until the 16th of January to do it. LOL

To apply or not to apply... if the comp is in April then I shouldn't.

I don't see them changing their format anytime soon, so go by history to determine when the dates are.

I don't see them changing their format anytime soon, so go by history to determine when the dates are. Aside from the general time when they start filming and how Venice is always first there isn't really too much of a format of where they go to when, I'll use my region as the example (Going to skip ANW4 because of the 2 regions/1 city thing) ANW5: Northeast was 2nd region ANW6: "Northeast" was 3rd region ANW7: Northeast was 5th region And that's just using my region as the example, that's not factoring how much they switch around other regions, it's not an exact science

To be fair though, the odds of it being April are still high. If Bada wants to go, just apply and see if he's even selected. These days just GETTING selected is 90% of the battle.

I'd argue 99% of the battle. That being said, I have no clue how I've been as successful as I've been. I don't really want to submit and have to back-out. That seems douchey.

If there's a scheduling conflict you can ask to be moved to another region, I'm not sure how likely that is recently but it's not unheard of for that to happen

To be fair.. douchery would be to KNOW you can't make it and keep that date. No harm in trying out and figuring out if you are chosen at all THEN if it does conflict (which at this point we don't know) either ask for a region switch or give up your spot. Nothing wrong with that honestly.

hey guys I'm almost done with my submission video and it's 3 minutes and 20 seconds, do you think this is a problem since they asked for a 2-3 min video ?

I'll email them and see what they say, I find it really hard to squeeze everything you wanna do and say in 3 min vid.

IMO like I've mentioned in the past.. if they are up to 40,000+ applications, they can just bypass those who don't adhere to the rules. Just trim off 20 seconds. They don't need an AMV.

ok it's down to 2.59 now I had another question, what about if you have background music at parts of it? Can you have any song or are there copyright issues with the music?
