Thanks.. it's about damn time they announce it.. I mean seriously.. NOTHING for a month and a half then a last minute thing 2 days before the event. I honestly believe they are conceding the ratings since they picked a horrible time for it and aren't investing money on it. Glad to see that NBC is airing it at least. I wasn't sure to be honest because I'd only heard Esquire mention it. As someone who doesn't have Esquire, this is good news They are contractually bound to air it. The All-Star Special however.. no one even knows it existed outside of this forum...

Sucks we will probably never get to see it. :/ I'm very much looking forward to USA vs the World this year because I'm glad it was fair this time around.

Agreed about the excitement for that exact reason. I double checked that the original reports I got last year were correct and everyone said the same thing that it was a lot better run this year to be as transparent as possible. That makes me happy. ♥ As for the All-Star special.. I'm bewildered no one even knows about it.. I mean some of the obstacles they came up with and how people did on them would make for great TV. I'm really surprised.

At the time of this post, there are currently no plans for a live stream of this event. However, I have proposed the idea to blt024 since there seems to be enough demand for it. Absolute worst case scenario, like always, a download will be available later on. So is there going to be a livestream?

NBC has been airing 15 second promos during primetime shows over the past week.
Anyway...
They said "SASUKE"!!! Both in the accented voice-overs and on-screen text!!!

Matt Iseman tweeted at me when I showed displeasure at the translator. Can anyone confirm this?

I honestly don't mind Ryo's voice. It was nice to see a bit of Shingo too... but besides that I'm just crying over Team Japan's loss...

So they still haven't mentioned the All Star competition. I wonder when that will ever make it on TV

I just woke up from a headache induced nap.. I'll say this to those watching asking about Team Japan. BAD case of stage fright.. Heck.. Kong was so scared that his legs were shaking. He said they were shaking so hard he didn't have anything left for the trampoline.. That was an indicator how the newbies dealt with it. They were extremely embarrassed they couldn't get a hold of themselves. Edited it to get rid of the red font.

trampoline? I haven't even watched all of it (got to Ryo's first run) and I'm assuming Kong ALSO failed the Jumping Spider...

{Spoiler}Worse, he failed the Propeller Bar, the second obstacle in stage 1. I honestly was expecting RYO to fail there. Ouch... I was supposed to tape it. Was overwritten... When will we have a download?

I haven't seen the whole thing but got the synopsis of "it was legit, we sucked.. I'm embarrassed... but my wife wants to see it on TV.. oh how embarrassing" messages from Hioki and Kong. Tomo was "uhm.. I'm sorry to disappoint you.. I choked." Morimoto was "I cleared Stage 3 again I'm okay!" LOL!!!! Team Japan had no training (NBC nonsense) but none of them blamed the lack of training on it for their failure. They just choked pure and simple.
I hear they didn't show the Final Stage. Morimoto went up against Ian Dory and Morimoto won. Obviously not part of the competition, but it was a gimme from NBC since Japan had a new champion. Morimoto was told that they sent Ian instead of Isaac because Ian was the faster climber. We both thought they wouldn't show it on TV. I wish they did.

I may get a lot of hate from some people for this, but I might as well express my thoughts on this contest... After watching another dismal performance by Team Japan, I think it's about time we stopped inviting them. Seriously, everyone's getting sick and tired of the Japanese finishing with ZERO points every year, simply because the course is near-impossible for them due to the fact they are less agile than Americans on ANW-style courses. If they can't get any points, then what's the point in inviting them back every year, huh? It doesn't make good TV, and it's damaging the image of SASUKE when NBC make the Japanese look like joke competitors. Either make it USA vs Europe (like the Ryder Cup and Mosconi Cup), or never ever hold the competition again. Rant over.

IMO the bigger issues honestly (at least for me) is that you can't have a course that was already tested (and even competed on) for only 1/3 of the teams. Sasuke doesn't let you on the course until the day of the competition. ANW's Vegas Final is the same way. Why should the international one get a pass when only 1/3 of the group already has a feel for it? IMO to combat that they should let EVERYONE test on them (Japan didn't this year for some political reasons) or don't let anyone touch it at all like they do with Vegas Final/Sasuke. IMO they should change the course like they did with the All-Star special where the whole thing was different and competitors were seeing and competing on them for the very first time. That way the playing field is even. As for "not inviting" people because you are upset, I'll just say that I disagree and leave it at that. I think that's emotion speaking. And this coming from a die-hard Japan/Sasuke fan. All I wanted was a fair competition and let the chips fall where they lie and that's what I got. That's the whole point of competition in the first place. Kudos to the winners. This year I don't get to rage about manufactured results. That's a relief!

The All-Star Special however.. no one even knows it existed outside of this forum... *unlurks briefly* This isn't entirely true. The website that provides tickets for attending the tapings of the show had the tapings for the All-Star Special clearly labelled as such as early as May. *resumes lurking* (Edited to ensure compliance with updated signature guidelines)
