I feel truly sorry for Geoff. I hope he made a quick recovery. I will admit, even though Team japan is still my go to, Team USA is 2nd for me. They were exhausted and they still won. That's determination.

Disagree but you aren't reading that even I posted it twice. I think you are more upset with the fact that this show was scrappy and dirty and every one had an off night. It would serve them better to not have it right after an exhausting ANW tournament. Team USA in particular had to be exhausted... Hell Geoff outright collapsed. So are you sure there was NO foul play at the event itself this time, like the clock in the original? I would hate for there to be a repeat of that.

I was assured that they stuck to that clock that was clearly visible to everyone in the audience and to the competitors themselves. No foul play during the taping. I'm relieved.

Even though the conditions still seemed biased against Japan, at least the competition wasn't rotten to the core this time.

Yeah.. it's a weird political problem that has nothing to do with the competitors. I just wish they'd just leave them alone and let the chips lie where they fell. Just annoying when Japan is already prepared on how to deal with it before they get on the plane. It's just so frustrating. At this point I'm more upset about that aspect than they are. LOL

Well thank goodness for that, ANW is back to its best. Now it's time to get rid of this stupid side competition. It only airs just to fill the gap in the schedule. The normal ANW competition is best

Sorry for the few day bump,
But does anybody else agree that Shunsuke Nagasaki would be Japan's best bet at clearing Stage 1? Japan needs somebody comfortable on trampolines (or in this case, somebody who is a master of them), and I also think he has the best abilities for clearing ANW's Stage 1 in general. He's a good enough height at 5'7", he's young (28), and he's performed well since a very young age at Sasuke.
Do you think Japan would even be able to get him on their team?
Him, Tomohiro, Yusuke, Ryo, and any of Kong/Kanno/Yuuji are my dream team for Japan.

He's also a world competitor so he wouldn't have the nerves of competing abroad.

For those interested, I'm finally doing the USA vs. World blogs. I'm trying to weave them in between the other projects I'm working on. I hope to have this done before the National Ninja League Finals next weekend. Part 1.

I was waiting for this to come round. Again I don't mind the voice of Team Japan since for some reason they made me gush even more for Shingo but still. I actually skipped any runs not Team Japan so everyone in the first heat failing the jumping spider is news to me. Yikes.

Wow good catch on that trampoline thing, completely didn't even notice they put it at a higher angle for USA vs The World as opposed to how it was a couple nights before

Yeah I really hate NBC now cos of how they make Japan look like 13 year olds. NBC need to act better than this, they're a NATIONAL television company, not a totalitarian dictatorship. There are no excuses for this.

What I don't like about ANW is how their overall treatment of Japan gets worse almost every year... think about this:
In 2009, 2010 and 2011, ANW basically presented itself as a gateway to Sasuke, acknowledging it was inferior and holding it in high regard. Guest appearances like Yuuji happened because G4 respected the competitors.
In 2012, the decline started. They went on about "last year at Mount Midoriyama" when showing Sasuke 27 footage, basically saying that now THEY were the REAL MT Midoriyama and that Japan was no longer needed. Still, Nagano made his way down and it still recognised Sasuke as essentially an equal.
In 2013, they made much more of an attempt to avoid mentioning Sasuke, beginning the process of erasing it from existence in the minds of Americans. There were no guest appearances, few allusions to Sasuke and in USA VS Japan, the Vegas course was presented as the "real challenge", now showing Sasuke as the inferior show.
In 2014, things went from bad to worse. They went from simply short changing Sasuke to actively working against Japanese competitors, cheating them in USA VS The World (even though that was technically in 2015, but i'm going by main seasons) and referring to Sasuke essentially 0 times.
Series 7 and USA VS The World Two is when things took a nose dive. Not only do they now pretend Sasuke doesn't exist (completely erasing it from the American public's eye). In the international specials they show the Japanese to be bad-intentioned, completely inept and having almost no achievements to their name by leaving out key details. Americans are now the best, the only ones worth watching, whilst Sasuke is easier, with worse competitors.
It makes me really worried for the future.

NBC is damaging the image of SASUKE and it breaks my heart
