I think he was agreeing with you... Also if you want the people "on the bubble" then they would just make it top 16 or top 17 etc... So that is a dumb argument you don't make it then you don't make it try next year. Also how would you feel if you made it legitimately and the person that made a dumb mistake gets wild carded and you both finish and they beat you and you leave with nothing even though you were solid all the way through? (not saying that was your argument, just the general argument I keep hearing) Sorta using the Issac/Geoff arguments about Geoff hitting 6 buzzers and issac only hitting 5. So who is the real "winner" for the show it is simply time on the last course. In general you don't agree with someone when you call someone petty.  Whatever argument/agreement there was just went out the window when the name calling starts which is why I said what I said. As for the emotions surrounding those left out in the casting process for the wildcards I only mentioned that this comes up every year ever since NBC came up with it. Seems the criteria changes every year and there is no real solution unless NBC radically changes things. Given their history, not only do I think they won't change how they pick wildcards, I doubt any change to it will change opinions for everyone. Some care about the wildcards and some vehemently don't. Just on that alone it's impossible to please both ends of the spectrum. I think there was a misunderstanding, he wasn't calling you petty, he was calling people who try to use wildcards as their reason to bash the show petty. I can definitely see how someone could make that mistake, especially with how much the word is thrown around on this site against other users lol |

As a general rule though I don't like belittling someone's opinion simply because I don't agree with it so if someone wants to think that way it's not "petty" it's their opinion. Lord knows I'm usually on the opposite end of the spectrum in most cases when it comes to ANW. This however I don't happen to agree with it either btw. It's just not healthy to call people names if they don't agree with you. Argue the point but don't belittle the person. It's just something that has become so mainstream now that it makes my skin crawl when I see it. Either way, This is week 1 of.. 3 from Vegas? Are they doing the vs. World during premiere week like they did last year? They got hit pretty hard going up against the Fall season last year when they did it. The Voice/Blindspot start on 9/21, so this year's special might end up like the US vs. Japan special that got thrown out there by itself on January 2014. |

Fully agree! Whilst there are some women like Kacy that definately DO deserve wildcards, I'm sick and tired of NBC constantly hyping up random female competitors as if they're the best ever and actually have a chance in Vegas, when there are men who got further in City Finals and deserve Vegas slots more. Yeah.... Kacy beat a city final, Meagan is pretty damn impressive.... treat them like you would everyone else and stop giving them and others credit they frankly don't deserve Kacy and Meghan IMHO don't deserve wildcards considering they fell in the first half of the city final's course. It would have been one thing to see them get to the Salmon ladder + and then fail and say "Yeah, they deserve a nod," but both failed really early, so I'm not seeing it. The fact that Noah didn't get a nod as a wildcard when he still made it farther than those two is BS and I'm not even a particular WolfPack fan. To be fair, Meagan cleared the city's qualifying course and failed in the city's final. Where Kacy failed the qualifying. |

The guide for tonight's Stage 1 mentions "Double Shock". If that was an old name, which of the obstacles could it have been?
Next week's guide says Stage 2 has Roulette Row; Stage 3 has Psycho Chain and Area 51. Area 51 sounds silly for those disc things, and Psycho Chain is that perpendicular wheel thing with handles on the side. I can't help but think the usage of "psycho" will be a theme for future obstacles... Psycho Hourglass Drop, Psycho Rolling Log, Psycho Cliffhanger, etc.
It's been mentioned once before, but next week's finale is 3 hours just looking at the guide. We'll probably be getting as many Stage 1 finishers tonight as last week, so that means two hours for Stage 2.
