{Spoiler}Never fear Kacy, wild cards are here!!! XD {Spoiler}This brings up an interesting situation. If they give Kacy a wildcard spot as expected, it kind of ruins the dramatic effect that comes with seeing a popular competitor fail. It's like "Oh no, she didn't make it... Oh well she'll move on anyway so who cares?" However, if they don't give her a spot, it's going to leave a lot of people wondering why their hero that was hyped up so much last year wasn't given a spot. I'm going to go ahead and guess their solution will be to hype up someone else though.

They have Jessie this year to hype up, she did better than Kacy both years she competed and finished higher in Venice finals than Kacy did last year in finals, but yea I bet they give her wild card regardless. If they are smart they are gonna make Vegas more skill oriented and less finicky so we can see some people attempt stage 4. [spoiler/]

I'm gonna bet for Kacy it was beginners luck and we see her fail a bit too quick and shocks the world to its core the other direction unlike last year. Last year couldn't have been beginners luck. Kacys first year was ANW 5 in Venice Beach. Failed 5th obstacle in prelims. Did... NOT realize that. Never saw ANW5 except its special.

I think it's somewhat an error in logic to compare anw competitors based on couple of performances and including in different regions with different obstacles. With ANW you can change one small variable in the process and it can determine having a total victory winner vs the same person not making it let's say past stage one. It's not like a 100 meter race or something similar which allows for easy and fair comparison between athletes. Just my opinion.

One of the runners is apparently a competitive arm wrestler and he challenged Akbar. do you happen to know the name of this guy? I'm an arm wrestling fan. Thanks.

In order for Kacy to have had beginner's luck last year, she would have had to have been a beginner. She wasn't. And while overhyped, she was also the star of the show. Everyone wanted to see her and see her succeed. And, again, Kacy was the *only woman* to pass the tilting slider (unless one did after I left, but I doubt it. None were close). Leila Noone?

Has anybody found a pic/video of these new obstacles yet? There were some pics and videos floating around on some of the Ninja Warrior facebook groups but they were taken down upon the request of the producers. I think your best bet would be searching instagram or twitter.

I ran Saturday night and it was a great experience and I realize how lucky I was to be chosen. This was my first obstacle course race and I would like to compete on some smaller, local comps but the whole tv production was a little too much. Overall ANW did a fair job with things, but I would like to see them improve their communication with the competitors as well as their families. If not for cell phones and texting, my family would've missed my run! I got to meet a lot of the folks I've watched over the last few years, and they were all polite, particularly kacy. She was very gracious with her time and went out of her way to talk to my kids and take pics with them. I also saw countless people come up to her during the night (I was in holding until 5:30 am) and she never turned anyone away or was the least bit rude. I found that impressive considering her run.
The replacement for Jen brown was less than impressive. She had no sense of humor and it seemed to me that she felt she was being asked to interview a leper colony or something equally unpleasant. She looked like she swallowed a frog but was trying her best to look happy about it. Maybe she was nervous; this was her first time on ANW after all. Perhaps I'm being too harsh, it's just the impression I got.
For those who may run in the future: carry a thermarest or some type of sleeping pad and pillow for the holding area, more clothes than you think you'll need, and plenty of snacks. And make sure you stay in touch with those watching you; don't rely on ANW staff to get them in on time. Just sayin.

Nice! Anybody know why they didn't keep Jenn? If I'm not mistaken she either is pregnant or very recently had a child so she may be taking time off from hosting.

She did recently have a child, but she is still knee deep in NFL/UFC work so it seems strange. As much as she was hyping up the new season on social media in the months leading up to anw7(post-child) it seems like it was all a big surprise to her as well. maybe not but it would be nice to know.

They've gone though a few female hosts already. Jenn was the replacement for Angela Sun who was the replacement for Alison Haislip. Akbar is the replacement forJhonny Mosely who was the replacement for Jimmy Smith, who was also sorta the replacement for Alison Haislip (when they bumped Alison to sideline correspondant from co-host). And Matt Iseman is the replacement for Blair Herder, and before any of them Olivia Munn was doing it solo...well I guess Kevin Pereira would sortof ho-host with her sometimes.
Anyway I thought Kristine Leahy had a great sense of humor when I talked to her and totally nailed all 3 takes of my interview. Which is not always the case. Producers will often have to coach the interviewer and remind them of lines etc. but she nailed it first time, so I think whoever hired her made a good call! (Though I still miss having Alison around) and yeah Jenn Brown is probably nursing her newborn right now.

I took me 3 attempts to get through my interview with Jenn Brown - she messed up twice (though I had a minor mess up as well). They didn't even do an interview after my run in ANW4, which I don't know if that's weird or not. I did talk to Angela Sun when she was in the competitor area and she seemed really cool.
Never got a chance to meet Alison or Olivia.

I'd trade both Matt & Akbar for Alison Haislip's return.
