Hang in there man. I TOTALLY sucks for anyone to get hurt that badly... let alone someone we know and like. I hope they fix the issues overall and no one else has to donate body parts to it.

Did anyone get a photo or video of the last obstacle of the finals? I want to see how that works.

There is a cubic ton of photos on Twitter if anyone wants to dig through them.

Results anyone? I'll return the favor from my city's event. Even if you have to inbox it to me.

Venice Beach -- Region 1: City Finals
UNOFFICIAL RESULTS (SPOILERS!!!):
SPOILERS! SPOILERS! SPOILERS! SPOILERS!
Runners: 30
Fails by obstacle:
Quintuple Steps: 0 Slider to Rope: 3 Tilting Table: 0 Chandelier Swing: 6 HOURGLASS DROP (official name): 11 Warped Wall: 0 Salmon Ladder: 1 Double Dice: 3 Balls Wall: 3 Ring Climb: 2
(if you can do math, you have realized that 5 people who didn't make it to the warped wall qualified for Vegas. A couple I'm positive didn't clear it the first night either, making them--I think--the first people to legitimately qualify without ever REACHING the wall).
Notable Fails: Arnold Hernandez -- Hourglass Drop: Same thing that happened last night, overshot the tramp a little and landed on the finish without touching the second bridge = DQ.
Travis Weinand -- Hourglass Drop: See Above.
Rashad Evans (TUF Season 2 winner I guess) -- Hourglass Drop: See Above.
Alan Conneally -- Hourglass Drop: Shorted the jump a little bit and didn't get to the second bridge. Heartbreaker.
Ben Melick -- Double Dice: Gassed out on the 2nd dice.
Dustin Rocho (who I somehow missed yesterday) -- Double Dice: Same as Melick.
Jessie Graff -- Balls Wall: Didn't have the beta and fell in. Tough obstacle. First competitor to make it to obs 9 and first to qualify for Vegas. Was an absolute beast and her run will be awesome to watch in its entirety.
Alvaro "J.R." Campos -- Balls Wall: Almost finished but didn't have the beta for one of the last moves and gassed out.
David Campbell -- Ring Climb: I think David is one of, if not the best course theorists of all time, but his strategy one this obstacle was no bueno. He grabbed the top of the rings--where they were attached to the cables--in order to try (I'm assuming) to shave off about 6-8 inches from the climb. In the end he gassed out at ~20 feet...whether it was because of the grip or not, who knows.
Kevin Bull -- Ring Climb: Gassed out at ~15 feet and tried to kip his way to the finish, got to about 20 and couldn't hang on.
CLEARS: 1. Nick "Modern Tarzan" Coolridge: 6:06.39. Never thought he was gonna finish the ring climb, but he had enough gas to basically shoulder-shrug his way up the last ten feet. Guy was a monster, gratz to him.
That's all for Venice. Word on the street is a significantly easier course for Houston so Kacy doesn't fail early...who knows if it's true or not. As always, you never got this information from me.

When there's 30 runners, and only 10 of them make it to the WW, and only one clear, the course is f**ked...

This is the biggest load of BS in this entire franchise's history. Hopefully NBC gets their s*** together for the next four regionals

I actually really like the CONCEPT of the Hourglass Drop, just poorly executed. Can somebody explain how the last obstacle works?

Oh come on... it's okay that they kept the obstacle, but they should've modified it like the nunchuck obstacle from ANW 5...

This is the biggest load of BS in this entire franchise's history. Hopefully NBC gets their s*** together for the next four regionals This is saying something considering all the past crap, such as the death dice, crappy stage 2 designs at almsot every tournament, crappy curtain slider, basically crappy everything But yes I have to agree, this seems like an absolute bloody mess... Ah well, at least Ninja Warrior UK starts in 12 days

He didn't even break his leg on the Hourglass Drop. That happened on the Tilting Table ya doorknob. It's not a terrible obstacle.

[EDIT] EH?! Brian broke his leg?! Holy... I don't even remember a time in SASUKE someone broke a bone... ANW is really risky as of... well... now... recover swiftly Brian... One of the most notable bone destructions in Sasuke would be Sasuke 27, ironically enough to a competitor from ANW (Drew Drechsel). Also if I remember correctly Takeda broke his shoulder in his Pipe Slider in 12. These are off the top of my head, so Sasuke isn't immune to this kind of thing either.

It basically sounds like the majority of members here want both courses to be easy. It's meant to be the toughest obstacle course in the world, get over it. I'm sorry that someone got seriously injured but it could happen to someone in any athletic event.

There's a difference between difficult and overly difficult/almost impossible

But it wasnt impossible and there is no time limit.

But it wasnt impossible and there is no time limit. 30 competitors, only 10 people made it to the extended course, 11 didn't clear the 6th obstacle. Only 1 person cleared. In qualifying out of 124 competitors only 7 people cleared the 5th obstacle. There is something wrong with the course...
