I think I figured it out.
The production team for ANW is awesome, but the editing team is terrible. So we can like the competition but hate how it's being presented.
Ok. I feel a lot better now.

I saw plenty of people touch the bridge of blades with their hands. Just saying. The rules allowed for incidental contact, I didn't see anyone intentionally grabbing it to clear on the broadcast

I'll rewatch and point them all out. I saw 2 or 3. Rob Moravsky comes to mind.

Crap! At least you got a little footage from your run. I had zero footage of my run in Denver last year, though I don't really want to relive the cliff bridge fail anyway....

Disappointing. This was by far the worst edited episode out of the three so far. So many stupid digests and cuts. Still, results and some further thoughts. Spoiler
1. Joe Moravsky: Cleared, 1:04.13 2. Aaron Himelright: Cleared, 1:27.19 3. Joseph Hyndman: Cleared, 1:32.68 4. Michael Needham: Cleared, 1:35.40 5. Elet Hall (WHY YOU CUTS?!): Cleared, 1:37.05 6. Travis Rosen: Cleared, 1:39.55 7. Andrew Karsen: Cleared, 2:02.92 8. Jamie Rahn: Cleared, 2:04.61 9. Roland Seward: Cleared, 2:12.78 10. Dan Galiczynski: Cleared, 2:13.06 11. Adam Arnold: Cleared, 2:22.53 12. Rob Moravsky: Cleared, 2:24.80 13. Geoff Britten: Cleared, 2:25.71 14. Matthew Schumann: Cleared, 2:34.43 15. Brian Wilczewski (WHY YOU DIGEST?!): Cleared, 2:40.67 16. Chris Wilczewski (WHY YOU DIGEST?!): Cleared, 2:45.35 17. Brent Ruffin: Cleared, 2:47.99 18. Mitch Pajcic: Cleared, 2:55.20 19. Michelle Warnky: Cleared, 3:08.94 20. Andrew Lowes: Cleared, 3:14.24 21. Leoniel Olanda: Cleared, 3:24.58 22. Tom McGregor: Cleared, 3:29.75 23. Dan Polizzi: Cleared, 3:30.72 24. David Cavanagh: Cleared, 3:58.66 25. Adam Mihm: Cleared, 4:02.71 26. Tukrong "TK" Klendong (WHY YOU CUTS?!): Failed Warped Wall, 1:01.92 27. Timothy Dauenhauer: Failed Warped Wall, 1:29.98 28. Raymond Butler: Failed Warped Wall, 1:47.16 29. Brandon Willis: Failed Warped Wall, 1:57.30 30. Mathew Harris: Failed Warped Wall, 2:07.66
Most Shocking Fails (IMO): Luis Moco, Mike Bernardo (sorry, Mike, if I got your last name wrong. I can never remember if it's Bernardo or Bernando) And now, my other thoughts on the episode...I have these separated to keep from mixing in with my results. Spoiler Seriously, why did they cut/digest so many top runs? I'm used to a few, but these were from some top competitors? What does TK have to do to at least get shown, break his nose again? And digesting the Wilczewski brothers (sorry for any misspellings, I'm terrible with Polish names) was just bad.
Also, Travis Rosen is only 39. Stop talking about him like he's decrepit.
On the more positive side, I am liking Akbar more this season. His commentary seems a bit more consistent without being repetitive, and I like how he's taking more of an active approach, celebrating along with the competitors and interacting with them.
Also, I'm glad that when Ethan was disqualified for touching the water, they informed him BEFORE his interview with Jenn Brown, not forcing her to break the news to him. I would have rather had him not be interviewed at all when he is clearly frustrated and disappointed over the news, but this was a lot better than the Andrew Karsen debacle from last year.
Seriously, editing department, get yo s*** together. If someone at least made it to the finals last year, I think they deserve the courtesy of at least being shown. Isn't that right, TK/Elet Hall? And if you are going to show someone before they compete, to play up the fact that they are there...don't digest them.

I didn't catch myself on the start line, if you saw someone in a trench coat I missed it was me but my run was not aired. I failed the Bridge of Blades, the last upwards knocked me off. I'll elaborate later You will get it next year

{Spoiler} 26. Tukrong "TK" Klendong (WHY YOU CUTS?!): Failed Warped Wall, 1:01.92
{Spoiler}
TK's run got cut, IMO, because he was a finalist who failed qualifying. As I've spoken personally with him about that qualifying run--and he was VERY disappointed in himself afterward--I'm not surprised if he tanked the post-run interview or something.
I would sincerely expect to see him in 5 weeks in STL finals, though.

If he messed up the post-run interview, I could maybe understand not showing it, but IMO, just being a finalist last season should have at least earned him a digest.

First time posting after lurking for years.
Like what many people have posted already, I'm quite disappointed that many runs were digested, especially the runs by the Wilczewski brothers.
Also, what was up with Mike Bernardo and his approach on the Bridge of Blades? Has that even worked before in the past?

That's a shame it was edited worse than usual. I thought they'd do better as time went on.. sadly the reverse is turning out to be true.

That was such a shock. I thought the course last night lacked something aswell. IMO it didnt really have that new, difficult obstacle. The bridge of blades was super fun to watch because of the desperation dives. That 1st rope on that new rope obstacle was wayyyyyy too long. People who had terrible jumps off the tramp still reached it with ease. I was skeptical a month ago when I saw a picture of the tilting monkey bars. Thought maybe a lache over the gap was required? Nope. lol i was not a huge fan of the course last night. Hopefully the Finals steps it up hard in St Louis.

I just also want to throw in my cents about how dumb their rule for the Bridge of Blades is. Just put the damn cross bar and make the obstacle difficult the way it was meant to. It's basically the damn Tilting Table/Balance Bridge that way.

First post, I'm finisher #24 Dave Cavanagh. I am truly disappointed in the editing. There was so many good runs (including my own, which was actually the first to finish running 5th walk-on). They didn't include many of us finishers. As for Mike, I did it that way (slow and making them into quad steps) and made it so it wasn't impossible. I found it much easier that way.

I know the editing has not been great I still stand by the fact that it was better than years past because the profiles are shorter. We get to see more runs then years past but we should see every clear IMO

In addition to this (and BTW great to see you here Dave, the TRUE first clear of the night...) a couple others in St Louis found success through the control the blades method, Dave was the only one to clear the whole round using that technique. As for Mike's run he actually ran pretty early despite the broadcast and it was still kind of iffy on what technique to use, at that point blade-control seemed pretty solid, it wasn't until Donovan Metoyer (who despite the broadcast, also ran pretty early) that the self sacrificing "Dive to sanctuary" method was established (and honestly I should have went for it if I wasn't going to do Mike Needham's sidestep) and this was only shortly before Bernardo's run so it was still kind of iffy. TK actually stayed in the same Hostel I did (As did Brant Axt who I thank for sharing the hookup about it on comrades) and he was telling me in the morning that he thought he messed up the interview, and yeah he was really disappointed in his run, he said he thought it was a mixture of the grip on his shoes (Which he was iffy about anyways but he left the pair he planed to run in back home) and the wetness on the wall itself, I didn't get the chance to talk to him about city finals because I was already on the greyhound home as city finals were going on, then again I could just contact him on FB but meh

Yeah I was remembering that run in line and was so worried I'd lose my sunglasses on the obstacle and not be able to see in those bright lights so I improvised a rope out of duct tape to secure them, gotta thank Needham for that tip to get motorcycle sunglasses, got a pair a week after I got back and they are serving me quite well, so yeah mikey2xtuesday thanks man. But that Rolling Log, intense ride, a ton of the fails were from mistiming (honestly there were a ton of them, it was the ninja killer in St Louis but you wouldn't know that from the broadcast...) but damn that thing spins fast, that s*** felt like one of the most intense rides I've ever been on, and this is coming from someone who has ridden a couple of the Zipper on a few occasions.
