No problem.
And can we get rid of the no-avatar avatar thingy... It's annoying and completely goes against the whole look of the site... If we can't turn it off at the very least could we switch the pic to something else... Like that Sasuke S logo thing we've been using (Or like the Sasuke Challenger home screen icon thingy, that would work well)

Ok, has the "preview post" function completely been removed??
I used that all the time to preview my long posts and posts with pictures.

Yes, unfortunately it has.
I believe the changes to the editor are to blame, as the "visual" tab at the bottom of the text field of the editor could perhaps be the replacement for the preview option.

I hate the posting screen in general... Especially the "visual" option... I especially hate how that's default even when you say in your settings you want bbcode as default...

Another (potentially stupid) question. Has my beloved spell check dissappeared?

This is why I dislike proboards. You're stuck with whatever changes they think are good and are severely limited on customizations. I'm sure it's been mentioned before, but I would love to see a conversion to one of the other platforms like phpBB or something else. I know we'd lose some things like polls or attachments but those can be remade, and in the long run I'm sure it would be better to have full control of things.

We've been planning on moving to a new setup as soon as we can. It just comes down to when we have the chance (or rather, ability) to do so, we will be making the switch to our own servers where we have complete control.

I'd rather not lose almost 5 years of posts.. They make conversion scripts to transfer all the posts, forums, and member accounts. I know phpbb has one for proboards. I think the only thing it didn't transfer was polls and attachments. I don't believe attachments are used much here, and if so the important ones could be saved before conversion. A list of important polls could also be made and recreated once the conversion was done. With a little advanced planning the overall loss would be very minimal, and if tested first they could see the outcome before making it permanent. I think the gains and benefits for the long run would be worth it and I'm glad they're at least looking into it as a possible option.

Nothing ever goes as smoothly as planned and ultimately it turns out to be a pain in the a$$.. In my experience when mods want to "upgrade" something we lose more people in the process. Sure 10 of us would go to the new site but ask someone who just lurks to follow and we lose people in the process. Outside of cosmetic issues that people will get used to there's no need to change. This is already the oldest and established Sasuke communities out there. I'd like to keep it that way.

They make conversion scripts to transfer all the posts, forums, and member accounts. I know phpbb has one for proboards. I think the only thing it didn't transfer was polls and attachments. This is already the oldest and established Sasuke communities out there. I'd like to keep it that way. Some of the scripts also bring over accounts as well, and assign randomly generated passwords that users are forced to change upon first login. So the loss is minimal in that regard. The only problem comes from when someone doesn't read the PM that's sent out by an admin through the "PM All Members" function (which also emails the user since it's an admin function). And yes, we are the oldest and most established Sasuke community; and outside of official channels (TBS/G4/etc) we're also the world's largest, as all the other Sasuke communities blt024 and I have seen have only a fraction of our size. As jams said, we're trying to look towards the future and long-run benefits of a change; there's always going to be negative affects but if that's all we focus on then nothing will ever get done, whether we stay here or move forward. Regardless, when (see: if) we make an upgrade like that, we're going to do whatever we can to minimize the loss on all parties involved.

Sorry Anshinritsumai I didn't mean to turn the topic completely away from this update. Arsenette if you want I'd be happy to discuss easy and painless solutions to all of your concerns in PM. I've had quite a bit of admin experience with communities larger than this one, and used to develop addons for other forums too. From an admin perspective there comes a time when freehosted forums become more of a hassle than their counterparts. If planned thoroughly it can be very painless and can open the doors to development, growth, and attracting lurkers like myself to play a more active roll in the community

It's all good, best to have a discussion about it than to ignore it. And with your experience, you're well aware of what our intentions entail for the long term development of the community.

Wait a second...you can LIKE people's posts now (as you would on Facebook)? o_0 Yes, you can, I've seen some forum incorporating that feature before, it's not exactly unheard of... pointless? yes. Unheard of? no...
