Lol Asa always looks like he is about to break down in tears. Aahahahahahaha Yeah Gotta love it though. It's funny that he looks like he just got out of the mud pit with his hair wet.. same when we saw a picture that Lee put out of him last year we thought he failed but he actually passed! LOL!!!!!!!!!

Makes it even more amusing seeing him in a suit, like a jungle man brought to the city (not in a way that would be offensive to him though, just an amusing observation lol )

Wait, are Asa, Ryo, Kanno & Yuuji the New New Stars?
As in the redone set of New Stars?

Surely Hashimoto should be the 4th one? not Asa.

Could be that Asa made an impression on Inui and TBS during auditions. There's a lot of reasons why certain people are picked to be ambassadors.. hell.. look at the diversity of personalities just in the Sasuke All-stars and how THEY were picked

Or, you know, they just took a picture Notice how Yamada isn't there? He's still an All Star...

Or, you know, they just took a picture Notice how Yamada isn't there? He's still an All Star... One does not simply confuse Takeda and Yamada... And it's possible Takeda wasn't there because he's been busy with his new position...

In all fairness I wasn't looking at the photograph. My point stands (the one excluded is irrelevant)

In all fairness I wasn't looking at the photograph. My point stands (the one excluded is irrelevant) It is relevant when you are talking the about the wrong person.. especially when you mention "notice (enter specific person) isn't there" as to imply a certain meaning to their absence..

My point was one of the All-Stars wasn't in the picture so there could be other Shin Sedai (namely, Hashimoto) who were there but just not in the photo. It didn't matter which All-Star it was.

Okuyama deserved a spot the most in my opinion. He is in his 40s though, so that may be a reason why.

We may be also hyper-analyzing the choices like people bitching about why Yamada was an All-star and not others. They are picking ambassadors.. not likely choices to win in the future. Sure success is a big part but those they can work with in the future, fan favorites and overall effectiveness for TBS to promote Sasuke worldwide. The list is pretty long and that's how the All-stars were chosen when it first started. I'm sure a similar criteria was chosen for the current set. We'll see overall who they end up putting on that list if that is indeed what is happening. Granted this is the speculation thread so it's in the right place.

Five of the six All-Stars were chosen before SASUKE 11. Shiratori was added as the sixth for SASUKE 14 after making it to the Final Stage and coming within feet of repeating in the following tournament. Note, though, that the All-Stars are "regular people" who shine on SASUKE. Okuyama was a Japanese representative at the IAAF World Championships. The only other person who came close to being an All-Star was Shunsuke Nagasaki after several tournaments of success, but he was the charter member of the Shin Sedai. But then again, he stopped competing on SASUKE to compete in the Olympics. Okuyama started competing in SASUKE 19, long after the All-Stars had become an established group with no intentions of adding more.

Why do people keep propagating the erroneous rumor that Shun was even in the running to be an All-Star? Again.. the wrong criteria. Bunpei was added as a fan favorite in TBS. Period.. This has been dispelled years ago. And for the record Shun has never been in even close to being in the running for the Olympics so that is also erroneous. The "Shin Sedai" people keep talking about weren't even formed until after Kanno made it to the final THEN they tried to run with that moniker but then dropped it because no one had a strong enough success record to stay on that list long enough to matter. Inui is now back and they are going back to the original meaning of the word so I strongly suspect that if they plan to start a new set of stars it would be with the original ambassador meaning. These will be the faces of Sasuke from now on replacing the old guard. Success in and of itself is only one small part of being an All-Star which is why I'm not alarmed or surprised that Asa is there and Kouji is not.

On top of that... If Shunsuke was in the running for any group, it would be the "New Generation" group... It was either 18 or 17 when I heard them keep saying "Shin Sedai" about him during his third stage run... granted that was just saying he was part of the new generation before it became a group after the success of Yuuji and Kanno in 22 and 23...
