Game Three of the Stanley Cup Finals is on NBCSN.
Also, Hatfield & McCoys crushed everything else on TV Monday night in terms of pure numbers for the highest rated non-sports program in cable history.
Oh, and not that it should really affect it all that much but the July 23rd WWE Raw will be the 1000th episode (and I believe the show will also move to three hours from that day).

I hope people are watching this, it is finally becoming more popular in the USA and it's about time too.
One problem is that the broadcast schedule is confusing, between 2 qualifiers & finals between two different networks, several different regions, over how many weeks.
I just hope it will be enough to motivate them to continue doing ANWs on NBC each year, and sending the winners (as well as the malaysian winners) to the real Sasuke events in Japan as they occur.

G4 must be crapping themselves. They tied their all-time best! Granted it's still 0.2 (only in demo btw.. they are much lower if they do full cable ratings) but that's what they have been wanting to do. We'll see if the G4 numbers go up from here closer to the Vegas Finals. Just like last year their core audience has kept up with them They are only going up by fractions but they aren't losing it either. Seems the same on Network that they have a base audience that's not wavering much week to week. It wasn't a slaughter as I expected it to be when HK/MC debuted. They should be very happy.

Every week's ratings are giving me more hope that NBC will hold onto American Ninja Warrior. It's not perfect, by any means, but it could be great if improved next year. Which is unlikely to happen with G4 in sole control of it.

Is there any chance of NBC or someone else taking over production of ANW? These trials episodes are consistent at losing viewers from beginning to end. If I wasn't a fan, I'd change the channel too.

At this stage of the game I doubt anyone will even be allowed to touch the Sasuke license here in the USA. NBC has it because Comcast owns both NBC and G4 (and G4 is the one with the original license). So no there is no way to wrestle it out of their hands. From a television point of view, with ANW thus far this season they have been competing with the big boys. Not far out numbers but not dead last every week. We'll see at the end of the season how it held up over all 9 weeks but so far NBC actually is competing and that hasn't happened in a few years. NBC will milk it for what it's worth. That said, they might go back and tweak things now that they have had their way with it. This was brand new territory for them. While the presentation is said to be clunky (I'm not watching which is why I am wording it that way) with the ratio of profiles to runs being disproportionate and other obstacle problems and the usual disagreements with the broadcasting style and use of announcers - they still have much to improve if they bother going through and streamlining it. So far 3 weeks in and it's not an outright disaster - hell, it's actually hanging in. If they keep this up they might get a sponsor for ANW5. And that's not even discussing the connection to Sasuke 28 should that ever get off the ground. (but that's another thread ).

With such little advance notice, tough competition from the other networks, the earlier start time, and no AGT lead-in, Tuesday's episode will be a good indicator of how many dedicated ANW fans have Nielsen boxes and also a preview of what the Vegas episodes' ratings might be like.
I expect Tuesday's episode to get the lowest ratings so far. It also doesn't help that it's a trials episode with its viewer eroding format.

Especially since NW was heavily anticipated for those who follow ANW at all. For obvious reasons we expect ratings to be on Wednesday for Sunday night's G4 broadcast and preliminary data of overnights for Tuesday's ANW.

Btw as a match up I wanted to bring this up: tvlistings.zap2it.com/tvlistings/ZCGrid.do?fromTimeInMillis=1339545600000Thanks to the schedule change because of hockey's Stanley Cup Playoff Game 6 moving the time and date.. ANW will go head to head with Hells Kitchen on Tuesday night.. (Please note that the schedule on this page still has AGT repeat at 8pm but that is now the new slot for ANW4's NW Regionals)

I'm surprised that G4 didn't issue a press release bragging about ANW4's season high ratings in total viewers. I'm also surprised that they actually gained ~22,000 total viewers from hour to hour, although they lost ~3000 18-49 viewers from beginning to end. Thanks to TravisYanan and TFC, as usual. American Ninja Warrior (10:00) - G4 0.380 million viewers, #35; 0.225 million adults 18-49 (0.2 rating), #35
American Ninja Warrior (9:00) - G4 0.358 million viewers, #36; 0.228 million adults 18-49 (0.2 rating), #34

I'm surprised that G4 didn't issue a press release bragging about ANW4's season high ratings in total viewers. [/b][/quote] LOL I Know right? Though in all actuality they can't brag about it simply because if they went by total viewers and not their key demo they wouldn't even be on that list So far it looks the same overall from week to week (Hovering from 0.1-0.2) steady with no considerable raise in key demo (which is all they are looking at btw) The highest they had was 24th key demo and that was when nothing else was on a couple of weeks ago. They are back in the 30's again which going by what happened the past couple of years is pretty solid. No considerable gains but no considerable losses. I think that's why they didn't do a presser. Though.. I do expect something at the end of the week from NBC (all stations do actually) combining the successes of both the G4 and the NBC broadcast. Given that the other episode is airing as I type this I expect that to be delayed for another day. You'll see the gloating of anything positive there

The sad thing is, even in 4th place ANW still had its highest rating of the season. Maybe it should move to Tuesday night!

Final ratings from tvbythenumbers.: NBC American Ninja Warrior 1.7/5 (18-49 Rating/Sh) 4.99 Viewers (Millions)
There's no surprise to me with the low ratings. There was some interesting half-hour breakdown info from the earlier preliminary ratings: At 8 p.m. ET, a special Tuesday telecast of “American Ninja Warrior” (1.6/5 in 18-49, 4.9 million viewers overall) grew substantially from half-hour to half-hour in all key categories, including gains of 20 percent in adults 18-49 (to a 1.8 fro a 1.5), 44 percent in men 18-34 (1.3 vs. 0.9) and 14 percent in total viewers (5.3 million vs. 4.6 million)
