www.tbs.co.jp/hot-jyouhou/201202021428.htmlThe title of the article itself says "American edition of SASUKE." It also reiterates the statement that they will be using a full scale SASUKE set from the Midoriyama studio. They don't say which set though so that could mean anything. Nothing is said about SASUKE in Japan or if they would ever be airing ANW in Japan. The rest of the article is about the ANW format and a re-hash of all the numbers you see them throw out about SASUKE/Ninja Warrior (US demo ratings, countries the show is broadcast in). It's not really anything new, just an acknowledgement by TBS that this is something happening with their participation.

Thanks Ube I saw it when you tweeted it. Just reiterating in that article what we suspected that TBS is building a Sasuke-Grade 4 stage course in Vegas. AMERICAN version and not Sasuke 28. Given how much hype TBS did the last 3 ANW's I was not surprised to see an article this early about it. I would suspect in the following months we will be besieged in twitter with news of ANW from TBS from here on out

I don't want to sound stupid (again), but do you think that it might be Sasuke 27.5? LOL
It probably is Sasuke USA 1.

It will be interesting to see which obstacles they will use and if they will create any new ones. It seems likely that the course will heavily resemble Sasuke 27, but maybe they'll go in a new direction with a substantial number of new obstacles.

SASUKE in Japan on TBS = SASUKE SASUKE in Malaysia = SASUKE Malaysia SASUKE in the USA on G4/NBC = Ninja Warrior
That's the TBS terminology.
Re: obstacles - Since it was M9 who was responsible for the creation and testing of the obstacles, I would think that the chances of a significantly new course are slim. Besides, the majority of the viewing public in the US has not been burned out on the classic obstacles. This might be a good time to bring out a "best of" course.

I'm thinking of it as Ninja Warrior 1 No.. I think of it as ANW simply because the entire lineup IS American.. can't be 1 of anything since it's not inclusive

Flip wasn't a full on white guy but that didn't matter. I think 'American' is a loose term to G4. That is anyone that completes their course will be slated American because in the end, that champion will be their star.

That is anyone that completes their course will be slated American because in the end, that champion will be their star. Huh? The rules states firmly who can run it thus it's not "loose". Besides I've already asked if other countries can enter and it was emphatically no and won't ever be if NBC keeps it. And last time I checked American doesn't mean "white guy" . I think ya'll are having a really hard time understanding what a spin off is. So it can't be Ninja Warrior "1" because that is the name G4 gave to the original Sasuke and they have/will have shown 27 of them. Which is why I corrected James that it's ANW4 which is an appropriate name for it because it's all Americans in it and 3 others have proceeded in it.. How many stages it's had is irrelevant to the naming of the series. I didn't realize calling it ANW was somehow .. derisive..

It's such a sad thing that people can't distinguish the difference between NW and ANW. ANW4 is not Ninja Warrior "1" / SASUKE USA 1. It's still part of ANW series.

Well for consistency's sake for one. If you have people throwing out different terms for the same thing (in the case of the obstacles, this is different as those are confirmed names),someone WILL get confused. Guarantee it. Never fails, we hadn't had it for awhile but remember when a couple users got up in arms over something trivial like Japanese names of the obstacles being used (despite the fact a large majority are derived from English wording)?

G4 calls it ANW4. That's the name. Agreed And frankly it's a good name and consistent with the rest of the series.

ANW and Sasuke were always the same show and Ninja Warrior was just its American name witch is why TO ME I can think of this as Ninja Warrior 1 because for the first time it has nothing to do with Sasuke

ANW (and previously ANC) were created as qualifiers to Sasuke. It's the same as calling Sasuke Trials for the Japan qualies and Sasuke Malaysia for the Malaysia Qualies. "Ninja Warrior" was the name G4 came up with to replace "Sasuke" so no I'm sorry you are incorrect to call it NW1 since there already was a NW1 that aired. That's Sasuke 1. This is ANW4 and will be ANW4 as all companies associated with it call it that. This is not a replacement for Sasuke. Not yet at least.

lol I know it's ANW4 but at the same time it is completely new and different I was just saying what it seems like to me whether you feel I'm right or wrong its just my opinion on the brand new format the show has taken. One thing I am concerned about is if this means the end of Americans going to Japan
