Yeah, in ANW3 they went by finishes. Sasuke goes in numerical order in the later stages. Whether they broadcast it was another thing. Only time I can remember was 26 when they switched up and showed Kouji before Okuyama for drama's sake (and was there another time? -- Bunpei went in order in 15 in stages 2 and 3 after they let him be last in Stage 1).

Well in bunpei's case he ran last because of heat stroke/exhaustion. But since his # was 95, they went back in order

I know that, I meant aside from the 26 situation, there's never been a re-order like that in Stage 2 or 3. Not even after Bunpei's heat stroke. At least, not one I know of.

From a couple runs it looks like Kouji had the left-most seat..I would be unsurprised if the first UCH clear went to him, barring that he actually went before James McGrath. I believe that the seating order is reflective of starting position. TBS probably gave Nagano back 100 just to give the star of the show the spotlight. People would like to see that and that breeds ratings. My guess is the Kouji is the first UCH clear, and the competitors are seated in order.

Although it's not really helpful, did anybody else notice in this pic that there's some random guy on the extreme left who's wearing #48? minus.com/mpWayuosb#5

The back of "Kouji"'s head looks wet in the pic that shows the back of his head. Maybe it's someone who looks a lot like him. I mean I doubt they'd give him a low number. It doesn't quite make any sense to me.

Yes and who cares if people disagree with you, it's a part of life. Must of been a lot of low number clears if James was 5th or 6th or 7th to run stage 2..... Shinya? Shinsegumi Lien? A woman? The possibilities.....

2 more things watching the finals again.... I see the camera crew following "Kouji" back to his seat during the beginning of James McGrath's run. Also, Li En Zhi is behind the Americans during James' run as well. I don't think Li made stage 3.

In the previous tournaments, people tend not to return to their seats after their third stage runs. They seem to finish and stay standing with their friends and the remaining competitors start looking a bit lonely. It's a bit surprising to see people returning to their seats at random intervals.

They seem to finish and stay standing with their friends and the remaining competitors start looking a bit lonely. It's a bit surprising to see people returning to their seats at random intervals. Well by that logic and the speculation of Kouji having a low # we may be in a stalemate for the Li making it into the 3rd stage thing. I guess it all really depends on what his number is. Right now here's what we know: -Kouji appears to have a low number, meaning that Li could also have a low number and have run sometime between Ryo and Paul -During Paul's run, Li is nowhere to be seen. He's not standing behind the sitting competitors, and he's not standing with the Americans. This could mean he went right before Paul (meaning he cleared because he doesnt have a towel) or right AFTER Paul. -Li never changes his clothes at all from the red outfit he's wearing. This could mean he failed in Stages 1 or 2 because there's no need for him to change his clothes. -Li is not sitting, nor does it appear that he has a seat (unless it is after Ryo or before Kouji). This could mean he failed in Stages 1 or 2 because there is no need for him to have a seat. -The Metal Spin appears to be harder. Li doesn't really like the Metal Spin. This could mean that he failed it again, which would probably be the most plausible place for him to have failed within the first two stages.

Btw, while you can't make out anyone, you can see other Stage 1 clearers waiting for their turn on the steps leading up to the Slider Drop platform.

and stated that the best competitor from last year got 100. Make of that what u will If..... that is true..... that derails... EVERYTHING we've being saying so far. I mean, that means that either Okuyama or Li has 100... which seems a little farfetched to me in the first place... but we SEE Yuuji and Nagano sitting next to David, meaning THEY have 99 and 100. This doesnt make any sense!!! Someone should just go ask that person who #100 WAS, or if he was Japanese or something! lol

Not possible. David Had 98. Meaning Yuuji is 99 and Nagano is 100. I also doubt Li made stage 3. You can see him standing behind the other American competitors when James' run starts. David also made a comment that "so many people failed it" in reference to the metal spin. I'm sure more than just the 3 Americans failed the metal spin. Lastly it doesn't HAVE to be Kouji.... it can simply be someone who looks like him. He's more than likely to get a number above 90...... 80 at least...
