So I think most agree that Stage 1 in Sasuke is too hard, and needs to be aliveated, mostly because that could play in the reason Sasuke has lost ratings/has become less exciting.
I think the over bloated Stage 1 needs to go and be trimmed into a smaller, easier, sleeker stage 1.
I look at ANW, and there are competitors that you would never expect to pass, pass, and competitors that would NEVER have a chance at beating Stage 1 in Sasuke, have a chance of beating ANW's course. Especially woman. M9 cuts alot of woman (Rie) which is disappointing but makes sense in today's Stage 1.
The magic is still there in Sasuke, it always will be, but I've always felt something was lost in Sasuke 18+. Well I'm experiencing that magic now with ANW3, and now I wish it would return to Sasuke.

They aren't even on par with the same thing. More than 3 times the amount of people are on stage 1 which is much smaller yes but throw enough people on there you will have a "higher percentage" passing. As for everything else.. ANW doesn't have the 4 stage course in one day like Sasuke.. so it's like comparing apples and oranges.

I'm just talking about this one aspect that exists in ANW, but not for Sasuke.
I miss the days when a woman could very well pass stage 1, or when the 50-60 year old man ACTUALLY had a shot of beating Stage 1.

That is true but ANW is built so differently it's almost impossible to compare the 2. I for one would love to see more of those pass .. hell.. I'd like to see more of the INVITED to Sasuke.

Yeah, but you keep talking about this other crap. I'm just talking about this one aspect. Glad you agree with me though, would've been interesting to see the guy from the boy band do Sasuke 17's first stage instead of this first stage.

Well they are related so when you put a carte blanche statement that they have to learn from ANW I cringe. I'm all for getting more variety in Sasuke. I just see them as totally different things. Each with their own strengths and weaknesses.. especially since ANW sucks in the ratings.. why would Sasuke benefit from that? LOL

LOL I make my subjects shocking to piss people off into posting ;D They would benefit, because I'm tired of watching celebrities and women have literally no chance on the course. It isn't fun to watch anymore. It's only the super Sasuke obsessed that make it to stage 2. The beauty that once existed in Sasuke, I've found once again, but not in Sasuke 26 or probably 27, but ANW3. It's sad to see, M9 needs to realize this. Make stage 3 harder, make stage 1 easier. I thought they did this in 25, but they went back on it.

Well they constantly change in Sasuke and not always to please a different audience not in their country. Something we have to accept at some point. ANW was built from the ground up to be an American retelling .. which is why we have Boot camp.. /shudders.. I don't mind the first stage.. I just hate how it's redone in stage 2 as a rerun.. personally I wouldn't mind seeing Stage 2 being stage 1 in ANW.. but I'm digressing again.. I just utterly despise Boot.. Either way .. remember that Sasuke is built for a different demographic entirely.

If you give ANW's Qualifying/Semis course a real time limit, that success rate is going to get shorter and shorter.
Only in Sasuke 1 and 2 did the oldest clear and the lone female clear happened. There's a reason Sasuke went from 37 clears to 3 in one tournament. Who's to say we'll even get another 40s clear aside from Okuyama, forget a female reaching the SK with an easier course? Then you have a higher chance of a ton of clears (which for some reason, so many feel the ratings will shoot up, 4 got lower ratings than 6 which was only 5 clears) which leads to FF's and maybe even cuts, something not many here like in the first place.
You don't mix one thing flawed with another, that just leads to more problems.

I guess my point is I wish Stage 1 was easier... maybe not Sasuke 2 easy, but Sasuke 13 easy. They would benefit, because I'm tired of watching celebrities and women have literally no chance on the course. I Name one celebrity or comedian who complete the ANW3 qualifier Name one celebrity or comedian who competed at the ANW3 qualifier. I bet if all 100 competitors at Sasuke 26 replaced stage 1 Sasuke with ANW's Stage 1, we'd have a more exciting Sasuke.

Made a typo. I meant one celebrity or woman None. But a celebrity or woman has a better chance of completing the ANW3 qualifier than they do completing Stage 1 of sasuke. It, at least SEEMS like, to me, that they have a CHANCE of beating the ANW3 qualifier.

Might be more of a preference thing. I have no issues with Sasuke the way it is now.. seeing 3 women get to the HPA before was friggin' awesome.. it MEANT Something to be that far Still though I'd rather them just bring back Kunoichi since that's designed for them anyway. Different style for different tastes.

I think in order for mainstream Japanese viewers to like Sasuke, they would have to see an obstacle course where a specific celebrity actually stood a chance to complete Stage 1.

Dunno since the ones that have the biggest draws are the ones that have no hope.. LOL Just observation over the years and how many blog entries are comprised of loyal celeb viewers going into Sasuke for the first time. If they get past a certain place though that's bonus. We don't have Kane Kosugi's anymore.. and they were out there I doubt M9/TBS will pay for them to appear again.. it's obvious by the lack of major talent from Japan on Sasuke.

Yeah but the highest rated Sasuke's are the ones where celebrities (Or just one I guess) beats the first stage. We need another one of those, but it's pretty impossible for that to happen nowadays.

Call this inaccurate, but I have a feeling that's starting to happen, the Hazard Swing was a small, short obstacle and from the pics I'm seeing for SASUKE 27, I think that's why the Cannonball was brought out of retirement from VIKING. To help make Stage 1 seem shorter. Is this right?

To help make Stage 1 seem shorter. Is this right? Well I think the addition of these two obstacles are great and add variety, I don't feel like it does anything to make stage 1 easier. It's a step in the right direction, however. If they got rid of the rope ladder, than I'd call that M9 finally realizing this bloated stage 1 isn't working.
