Ok, this is bothering me now. Since getting Arsenette's info regarding how many times Kobayashi has actualy competed, I've been trying to find footage of him in different tournaments. Please, if you find any footage of him (as he has apparently competed 10 times but only shown a few times by TBS) put it here on this thread.
This is what I have so far...(based on TBS/Jet TV broadcasts)
Sasuke 11: He was shown and made it to the Pipe Slider in Stage 3
Sasuke 12: Did not see him
Sasuke 13: Somebody that looks like him fell on the modified Jump Hang. He was #86 but not sure if that's him (it was a FF)
Sasuke 14: He was shown and made it to the Devil's Swing in Stage 3
Sasuke 15: He failed the Crooked Wall in the first stage
Sasuke 16: He failed the Metal SPin in stage 2
Sasuke 17: did not see him
Sasuke 18: did not see him
Sasuke 19: his run was not shown but he was shown near Koji Yamada (#79) just before his run and he wasn't wet so maybe he was #80?
Sasuke 20: We know he failed the Jumping Spider and wore #1985
Sasuke 21: TBS did not show his run, but he was seen standing next to Nagano as they were watching Bunpei's run (Warped Wall). Maybe he wore #79 but don't know
If anyone can give any more info that'd be great! Thanks!

LOL it's been bothering me too! Him and Kenji Takahashi were cut a LOT from TBS. Similar to Nagano's first run not even being shown.. like.. ever.. some of the footage for Shinji has been totally cut. When I saw that list and saw the times I was going wtf.. he hadn't left as I thought.. So yeah it would be great if you guys can scope out old Sasuke's for some Shinji sighting!

Nagano's first run was shown, Do you mean Shiratori?
And yeah, I've been wondering why they've been cutting him even though hes there. Hell, he was the first to make it to the Devil's Swing.

Yeah, I don't know either. Do you think they only wanna show those that do well?
And as for Nagano, at least on the G4 broadcast, they did not show his debut in 7.

Yeah, that's him in 13. And I don't think he was in 17 at all. We just lack proof of him being there in 12 and 18, even though the wiki says he was. We even know his numbers, #93 and #44, respectively. Also, he was #76 (somehow) in 19.

And in 15, he got to wear #98.
According to the wiki, he skipped 17 altogether.

You can see his number in 19 if you have a high-quality version of the show. I think his number is best seen after Shingo's failure, which is #75 in my opinion although the wiki says #76. In 18, I believe they showed his name and number in a list of upcoming competitors, but his run was cut anyway. It's believed that the tournament he wasn't in was Sasuke 17.

Well he sneaks around the world from Kiev to Carolina, He's a sticky-fingered filcher from Berlin down to Belize, He'll take you for a ride on a slow boat to China...........wait, I think I got this thread confused with someone else.

Umm... I know I don't watch as much as others, but I do have a theory to his number in 19.
Didn't he beat the final stage in 18? That means when they did the run for all 100 contestants to select a new order (Whenever someone finishes the line they choose their number), people just beat Nagano to the finish line and chose that number first.
Nagano does smoke (Right, Arsenette?), so I don't assume he'd be the fastest runner, regardless of how strong he is.

And only the winner of the 18 race picked their number. And the winner was the pro snowborder who was #1.

I think he was/is in Japan Defence Forces or something.

Name, I believe, Masafumi Kato (who got the Warrior Wipeout by G4 when they showed 18)?

And guys...before 18 everyone who participated in the race got to choose their numbers. The guy who was first chose #77, second was #100, and third was #99. The fact that Nagano got #96 implies that he was probably in the first, say, 10 people out of around 100, which isn't bad at all.

lol lucky number maybe? I wouldn't want to be 100. PRESSURE. And I'd only really like to be in the 90's if I was really confident.

I believe the reason given was that all 7's is a lucky number, even in Japanese culture. Fat lot of good it did him. Should've picked 108.

The fact the announcer kept saying Lucky 7 wasn't a clue of why?
