Seriously, they gotta show Kobayashi and/or Takahashi next time (on both networks). But they gotta clear Stage 1 if they want that chance.

Nagano's first run was shown, Do you mean Shiratori? And yeah, I've been wondering why they've been cutting him even though hes there. Hell, he was the first to make it to the Devil's Swing. Shiritori's first run was shown. He failed the Warped Wall in SASUKE 9

I think Shiratori was skipped, or fast forwarded at most. I mean in an interview he said he wasn't shown but on his second attempt he got televised for doing a one foot jump on the Jump Hang (and we all know that became his staple)

On G4, Shiratori was fast-forwarded during 9, I think. But yeah, 11 was where we saw the impressive leap to the Jump Hang - he didn't need the trampoline. Too bad he can't do the same thing on the Jumping Spider.
But we digress.

I don't think it's possible to clear the Jumping Spider with one leg on the trampoline itself, but Takayuki Kubota (qualifier #8) cleared it in 21 with one leg off the very edge of the trampoline.

During that tournament, he did his signature one footed Jump Hang. His run wasn't skipped or put into digest (fast-forward for G4 viewers) but part of his run was cut in the middle.

Was just watching Sasuke 18 again and noticed something interesting about our good friend Shinji Kobayashi. If you watch the pre-Sasuke trial run to choose the order of competitors, you can see him right after the older guy (forget his name) chooses #30. He just finishes the race and jumps to choose a number. SO we do now have confirmation of him being there, but don't know his number or which obstacle he failed in stage 1. Boy, TBS really makes you work...

In fact, we know most of the 102 competitors that competed in SASUKE 18. translate.google.com/translate?prev=hp&hl=en&js=n&u=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.geocities.jp%2Fr_0308_xyz%2Fs.00sasuke.html&sl=ja&tl=enShinji wore #44 in SASUKE 18, still his run was cut.

Did someone see his # or we relying on just this web site for the info and other info as well? It may or may not be corect but I'll go with it for now.

Did someone see his # or we relying on just this web site for the info and other info as well? It may or may not be corect but I'll go with it for now. Yes, this source is reliable. He investigates the TBS broadcast, and if he gets info from elsewhere, he makes a note of it in those lists. It is correct, because there is no question marks near that description. If there was, then the author of that site is taking an educated guess, and will usually make a note of why he put that info there. Plus, if I recall correctly, I think I remember hearing that most of the names were shown on the screen at some point in the broadcast. The japanese wiki cites him as a credible source as well. So, he was #44 in SASUKE 18.

Once I record #22, I'll be able to 'investigate' more as well. Thanks!

The names are flashed on the screen very very quickly at the very beginning of the broadcast. They didn't spend much time on the race and the list is shown in the first five minutes of the show. The person even has the same gaps as the list.
Aside from 21 it's the most complete competitor list out there since they TBS deigned to actually tell us who was there for once.
Basically, unless TBS was lying about the list, Shinji was there but completely cut (not shown either in digest or on SASUKE Maniac).
Other notes from that show: Miyake was 46 but wasn't shown. Nocchi, the guy who did Obama at 22 was there (digested) and he was doing a Mr. SASUKE impersonation at the time!

I'm sure this was mentioned before, but had anyone seen or heard any info about Shinji being in SASUKE #22? DOn't think he was there, but with TBS you never know.

Usually he's quite visible being attached to Nagano at the hip. He was remarkably absent this time around To my knowledge he wasn't there.
