Before this topic bites the dust, can someone tell me why Akiyama continues to fail the Warped Wall? He's not as old as Yamada, yet he continues to fail the Warped Wall, he should have beaten it by now.

The Warped Wall is hard enough for people around 6'0, much less for someone 10 inches shorter, and legally blind.

Blindness isn't a factor in Warped Wall failure, is it?

It's more the implied calling out people than the welcoming someone. He's proved to be better than anyone at one point. Anything else would be a bonus. Yeah but no one knows who I'm talking about :O I love everyone in this forum, expect when they act in that certain condescending way, and that doesn't include everyone. As for his mindset, you are right. I hope Akiyama thinks that way. Blindness isn't a factor in Warped Wall failure, is it? I don't think so. It's just a matter of running up it. It's very possible to do it with your eyes closed, with just a general knowledge of where the ledge is.

Blindness isn't a factor in Warped Wall failure, is it? It becomes one when your sight is blurry at best in the day, and you're essentially all but blind at night when things have the chance of blending together.

Actually Nagano nailed it many times.. he said that he's trained the hell out of his upper body but he doesn't do much with his lower body.. and that's what failed Akiyama .. his legs.

So all Akiyama has to do is train vigorously until he beats stage 1, I really want to see him on the Salmon Ladder and get revenge on the Metal Spin, which he failed in 16.

So all Akiyama has to do is train vigorously until he beats stage 1 Yamada does that all the time and personal demons or not, it's gotten him next to nowhere. Not saying Akiyama COULDN'T but I don't know, Akiyama's always is one of those "What if" types with me.

Yamada is an old man, Akiyama is slightly younger than Nagano, Yamada is too old to beat Stage 1, Akiyama still has a shot.

Yamada is only 45. He's not that old. Bunpei Shiratori is 43. I don't hear anyone complaining that he's too old. And Yamada's problem isn't age. He's still in great shape. I think he psyches himself out before runs. Not intentionally, of course, but I think that's what is happening. He wants to clear, but I think that he doesn't believe he can do it. Anyway, as Elsie said, Akiyama has problems with the Warped Wall because he doesn't train his lower body enough. His vision doesn't really affect his performance on the Warped Wall.

Agreed about Yamada.. it's all mental in his case. He's even admitted to it.

I know from personal experience in martial arts tournaments that it can be hard NOT to psyche yourself out. I wish I could talk to Yamada before the next tournament and let him know that I believe that he can still do it. I know that he is physically able to clear the first stage. I want to see Akiyama clear the first stage again, too. In Sasuke 27 I'd like to see all 6 of the All-Stars compete, and all 6 of them clear the first stage. That's only happened twice, and Bunpei wasn't an All-Star then.

I was just joking. Everyone is so intense here. Lol yeah this forum is more uptight than a westboro baptist church forum... but if you ignore and call out the matured retards, you'll feel happy, and want to stay, much like me. I hope you do, cause we need more of you. Welcome to the forums Thanks Friend!

So, all in all, we ALL agree that Akiyama simply can't see and is NOT a jerk, right?

Dude needs to get on the Weight Watchers diet! although I think his build is too big regardless. He would've been a good football player had he put more of his time into it when he was younger.

He's bulky but definitely not fat. And this isn't america, football as americans know it doesn't exist much in Japan.

We've seen him try to up his cardio, but I think he needs to focus on that and his speed.

I agree with the others that the problem with Yamada is his mental state. I think it certainly helps him to work on his speed, because he is an older competitor; however bulky or not, telling a man with less than 8% body fat to lose weight is inane. You don't just lose muscle, it'd be one thing if Yamada was made of fat, but that's muscle.

And I just don't see it being mental state.... I mean when you look at him between obstacles he becomes sluggish and looks exhausted.
