Sato has been in I believe every Tournament Since Sasuke 18. He also gets more coverage than most people and is usually in the 90's. IIRC he wasn't in 25, but anyway despite what we know how he's like off-camera I doubt it matters to TBS regarding how much coverage Sato gets. After all, he seems to actually be pretty well-known in Japan, and furthermore is one of the only celebrities there who's even capable of clearing Stage 1 anymore. I'm pretty sure the same would apply anywhere else in the media at any location in the world. Of course I don't approve of his attitude, but if coverage helps them even the slightest bit, they'll do it for somebody that people know no matter what their personality set is like. Also, wasn't this thread about Akiyama? 0_o

Remember the comparison picture that showed a normal person's sight and Akiyama's? He can just barely see the trampoline if he's on the course.

Akiyama really needs eye surgery, he'd be a lot better at the course and it might prove once and for all if he's a selfish man, or a person who has no clue what's going on.

It's just a temporary thing to decide the reason for his behavior.

Well kind of messed up to think of a potentially negative opinion on the guy because he's all but blind as a bat. It was pretty amazing he was able to get the the Soritatsu Kabe at night during 25. Most of us felt he would fail the Jump Hang because we didn't know if he saw it, let alone the trampoline. Sasuke hasn't always been the best in terms of lighting for Stage 1 at night IMO. I'd read this: ramblingrican.blogspot.com/2009/01/kazuhiko-akiyama-rise-up.html

We've had this discussion before at naseum and just because they don't have the disease themselves they automatically think he's doing nothing for it. Ignorance is rampant.

BTW, could someone explain what DR is in layman's terms

This is from the Wikipedia article.
"Retinoschisis is an eye disease characterized by the abnormal splitting of the retina's neurosensory layers, usually in the outer plexiform layer, resulting in a loss of vision in the corresponding visual field[1] in some rarer forms. More common forms are usually asymptomatic."
The article also adds that DR is similar to retinal detachment. My sister and I are both severely nearsighted and my sister has had a detached retina three times, all on the same eye. The article says that sometime people with DR can have detached retinas, which complicates things. That's probably why Akiyama had to stop wrestling. When he got his head banged around he risked causing a detached retina. Because his problems are on the retina itself and not the cornea (as in nearsightedness) if he had a detached retina it may be that it could not be treated and he would simply lose sight in that eye. That last part is just speculation. I don't know that for sure.

So what if the guy doesn't smile? He's a Grand Champion he can do whatever he wants.
You guys gotta stop getting bent out of shape over stupid s***. When you're researching eye disease things have gotten out of hand.

Regardless of my position on it, you're essentially saying it's wrong to research a disease someone you're a fan of has.

If you don't like it leave, this place is a great place to talk about SASUKE, but you are correct about the eyesight.

I was just joking. Everyone is so intense here. Lol yeah this forum is more uptight than a westboro baptist church forum... but if you ignore and call out the matured retards, you'll feel happy, and want to stay, much like me. I hope you do, cause we need more of you. Welcome to the forums

I can't welcome someone to the forums? It's just one post...
And we can bring it back on topic... although I think we've explored everything about Akiyama.
I don't think there's anything wrong with him being shy though. I know he wasn't very talkative in 1-4, but it also has to be a little... embarrassing knowing that you won, and than had consecutive losses.

It's more the implied calling out people than the welcoming someone.
He's proved to be better than anyone at one point. Anything else would be a bonus.
