Sorry to stay offtopic here. But I don't think adding in the drama attracts a more casual fan at all. In fact, from alot of the people I've talked to who watch Ninja Warrior casually, they were actually turned off by the drama. And these people are just friends and family who I recommended the show to who watch casually enough to not even know someone like Nagano's name haha. So I don't think manufacturing the drama helps garner ratings at all.

Well I guess you're a bad teammate then. *Shrugs* Your conclusion is wrong. My unhappiness about being forced to do a boot camp wouldn't stop me from giving my all to help my team (and myself) get to Japan. I think you're biased because you don't want to do bootcamp. While it's not secret that I think the idea of a boot camp is stupid, my opinion isn't being factored in here. I've listed nothing but facts above. If anyone sounds biased here, it's YOU. I see nothing but speculation and "probablys" from you, which does nothing for your side in a debate. Now, if you really want me to pick apart your last post and point out, piece by piece, why I think boot camp is a bad idea, from a scientific, training perspective, I will, but I'd rather not have to. And don't take this personally. A lot of people like to get uptight and start hating on me when I do stuff like this, but please try to understand. It's nothing against you. I just think you're wrong. Having raw skills (and the drive) that can be molded into a great Sasuke competitor should matter a lot more than networking. It does. Levi, Brian and especially that new guy, Trevor, smoked David at ANW2, even though he has the course (something I was a little surprised at). A backyard course helps, but it's not everything. On a side note, after ANW2 I decided to change my obstacles around a little so I could run through them as a course, something I had never thought of doing. Before ANW2, it was, "Can I do this? Yes, ok, next obstacle.". I never went through it as a course.

K now that that is over.. take that discussion to a new thread. Please keep this one for news coming from G4 about the preparation for ANW3. A lot of people are interested in the make up of this one.

K so to sum up what's going on now. Applications (video entries specifically) are up for ANW3 but at this moment there is no date for ANW3. We are unsure if it's going to be tied to Sasuke at all.. and if it is it's unclear if it's tied to 27 or even 28. So far there is no official deadline but they mention that by the end of March there should be news as to when the deadline might be or even a hint as to when ANW3 will actually be.

Hopefully we all have lots of time to work on videos. I'd like to get fresh clips of myself killing my obstacles, but it's currently cold and wet.

You learned the name. I appreciate it. Whenever you get a chance to come out here, you're welcome to try it. It's open 24/7.

Fine, but when you wake up at 1 AM to someone on your Warped Wall, you'll want to fix that "24/7" moniker.
Back on topic!

I don't care when it is. Just wake me up first so I can do it with you.

Back on topic to actual ANW3 stuff: I just saw this post from the Feed last week, and it does mention Japan. "If you're the type of person that watches Ninja Warrior, and thinks to him/herself, "I can totally do that!," we've got two pieces of information for you. First off, you're crazy. Have you ever seen that course? And second, if you really think you can do it, you should put your money where your mouth is and audition to be a part of American Ninja Warrior 3, to see if you have what it takes to go to Japan and try and scale the immortal Mt. Midoriyama. Read more: www.g4tv.com/thefeed/blog/post/710887/american-ninja-warrior-3-call-for-submissions/#ixzz1Gc4J6tJ8"

to see if you have what it takes to go to Japan and try and scale the immortal Mt. Midoriyama. They never said anything about SASUKE Hello loophole!

But then again.. in ANW2 they had a disclaimer basically saying "If Sasuke 26 doesn't happen... we're not at fault".
This means they intend to have it tied to Sasuke. Dunno if that's 27 or 28. (Hopefully we get a 28)

With this recent crisis I hope they have ample time to prepare on both sides of the world, I loved 26 because of the American domination but then again I hated it because Japan kept having to come up from behind.

This is not really too related to ANW3, but baronbk mentioned the Feed post. (Makes me glad that there is likely a Sasuke 27, BTW). But my main post is a simple question. Am I the only one who gets a bit annoyed that Ninja Warrior, and everything related to Ninja Warrior news, mentions "Mt. Midoriyama"? I mean, -yama means "mountain, so they are constantly saying "Mt. Midori Mountain". Just annoys me.
On topic, like I said, glad that the news of ANW3, crossed with the Feed post, all but confirms at least one more tournament. Hopefully, there are even more to come.

LOL I just ignore G4 with Mt. Midoriyama.. they created that catastrophic translation and by god they are going to live with it.. even if it's wrong. Just shows how stupid they are. Personally I find it fitting.. it encompasses everything I hate about G4's treatment of NW.
I never tie ANW to Sasuke these days. Especially with the situation with the blackouts in Japan affecting large scale productions. Given that they haven't even said it's tied to Sasuke but a "bonafide" course.. they already have in their writing a way to keep the show alive here in the USA even if Sasuke has to take a hiatus until the crisis in Japan is mellowed back to a reasonable level. I honestly don't think Sasuke is coming back though but that's my own opinion on that. G4's already tied to sponsors for an ANW3 despite what is going on in Japan. That's just the reality of the situation.

I'm... ok with it for some reason. Deep down I don't feel that ANW3 should be tied to Sasuke (I think it's the news about Sasuke being on the fence, not the tsunami or anything) and I'm kind of... relieved, in a way, that it's not.
I know a lot of people want to rape the ANW course and go to Japan, but meh.

Well G4 is pretty clear they want this to continue well into the future even without Sasuke. Personally It's better than what they were doing before but I still don't like what they are doing for those getting TO Japan. I miss the old way (M9 picking whoever the hell they wanted) even if it was random. I also know a lot of people like ANW and will continue to watch it even after Sasuke is long gone. I just don't think it's going to last that long. Right now the only allure I see is that it's the only bridge to Sasuke.

Oh, me too, don't worry. I'm not exactly looking forward to the abomination G4 produces (which I'm fairly sure a particular free runner will win every time...). I compete for Sasuke. Sadly, if Sasuke DOES die, ANW will probably be the closest thing to it, so I'll still be competing on it anyway.
I need help. .__.
