So they have never been strict with the resting time limit before? Geez. I don't understand this. TBS needs ratings Clears = Ratings Less rest time = fewer clears fewer clears = bad ratings Doesnt matter whether those clears are Japanese, American, Taiwanese or anything else. If you've been reading this thread. Who clears is VERY important. TBS cares about the All-Stars and Celebrities. Why do you think you saw so much of EXILE during Sasuke26? They're the hot ticket everyone in Japan wants to see. A Japanese audience doesn't want to see a bunch of Americans dominate the stage, leaving only old Muscle Musical contestants and a 40-year-old former sprinter carrying the Japanese flag for the audience. Okuyama and Iketani have some popularity, but none that drive ratings for Sasuke. Yes I understand what you are saying. Ratings drop when you lose the all stars and such. But in the context of Sasuke 26, when all of those guys were already out, it was not smart to make it worse by keeping people from clearing the UCH.

Actually ratings are not 100% due to WHO clears either.. it's usually who TBS decides to push. The last time in 25 they had very little comedians.. all which have ZERO chance of failing but something like 24 that had a lot of them they got better ratings. It's a show as a whole.. people in ANY country have to feel a connection to the show and a lot of the fans have been complaining that there is no consistency in who they even invite. Hard to make a connection to people if they are hardly shown.. kinda reminds me of how people now like Okuyma and Kenji Takahashi when both of them have been cut MANY times.. new people watching now still say "who are they?" because TBS has been so damn inconsistent in showing them despite their moniker as vets. That's just one example.

Like I said before, blog posts and stupid crap like that from Sasuke fans isn't what the general population of Japan think. I don't know what they think, but I doubt you, or anyone else does either. Makes sense. It could be. We shouldn't be so damn sure though. Critics and the success of something don't matter. Critics may say "This product sucks" and yet, it sells millions.

That's just one example. To put it simple... Ratings are Ratings.. does it matter how we get there?... Lets face facts... for the general audience who aren't us Sasuke 26 was great.. When the truth is the people watching aren't thinking the same as we are... The Japanese casual watcher was thinking "Woo!!! EXILE!!!" (and lets face it... we probably had alot of people watching for Naoto and probably turned it off after he was done) and the American casual watchers were thinking "Woo!!! Our guys kicked a**!!!" (Well... they would if G4 didn't f*** up by separating everyone and that group thought it was just ANW2 on a damn near identical course as the one they're going to see in March..). As long as Sasuke got ratings to save it that's good... s***... if 26's ratings were good I'd say lets get Naoto back with infinite practice runs as soon as they set up the course and invite him back to 27

I think the reason why Oti and I are ribbing you is that you spend more time saying that you DON'T know but still b**** at me when I say we do... If you search for it you can find it. Simply put it hasn't been doing well in Japan for a while for various reasons including how TBS is handling Sasuke and how their focus is changing. THAT is indisputable.. except.. for you. LOL As for the topic of this thread.. I didn't see any ill will or anything on the part of the Japanese competitors watching.. What I saw was "holy crap... wtf is he doing".. especially people like Nagano who always have an intense face when watching. TBS always cuts stuff like that. Hell.. G4 does as well. Remember when the competitors were complaining that they were being shown differently than what is happening? Same thing here. Always has been this way though so it's not anything new.. what was new was the performance of the Americans. You can't go by what Iketani's face does.. he hates everyone LOL

Problem is.. that's not helping the broadcast... no one likes it.. the competitors or viewing audience.. something TBS has always missed.. They try this EVERY tournament and the competitors blow it off.. this time was literally oppressing and actually caused problems for the Japanese competitors giving them undue pressure when they really like the Americans. Yeah, either TBS think it works for some reason or it's so entrenched in their program-making mentality that they can't not do it.
