Sunday is a really awful day for panels honestly. So try to keep the energy in your panel high. Yeah, it is happening at a bad time, but at least it's been accepted. I hope a lot of people show up, but we'll have to wait and see what happens.

I hope a lot of people show up, but we'll have to wait and see what happens. It's possible you could get a huge crowd. A lot of people do in fact know about that show. And it's a convention full of nerds Depending on how big the con is, you might get a pretty good turn out.

That's awesome you were accepted! I really think a good approach to this panel is to not only explain what Sasuke is, but also to somehow tie it in to Japanese culture as a whole in order to make it more relevant. I know that sounds sort of cheesy and hard to do, but I don't think the panel will have as much impact if you're just talking about the show only.
For example, one thing that always amazes me if the fact that in over 13 years, only $60,000 (and a car) has been won. In fact, the prize is completely ignored by everyone.
This is completely different from American culture where people in game shows and reality shows are fixated on the enormous grand prizes.
This is just one example. Good luck with all your research!

Thanks I need some stats though, like how many people have cleared stage 1 altogether and if anyone possibly knows who has beat stage 1, and 2 more than anyone else. Thanks

I just remembered something about this the other day...
You could also include the music as a tie to Japanese culture and anime, considering that some competitor themes are from anime soundtracks 0_0
Just a thought.

I'm about 30% done with it so far, I'm going to be relying A LOT on Youtube for this panel since I'm plugging in a lot of videos to certain powerpoint slides. So far I've described the obstacles mostly, and what stages 1, 2 and 3 have looked like over the years. Once I'm done with that, I'll work on the competitors and then talk about other things with the show, such as the music, american competitors, and G4's version of the show. Oh yeah, my panel got re-scheduled, now it's at Friday at 2:00 PM so it's at a better time slot now

I'm not sure what yours is like though. Is yours like the first panel? Not necessarily a good thing.

Last year was MUCH worse for me. Last year I ran a game show panel at the BEGINNING OF THE CONVENTION, which was at 10 AM on Friday. So this will be at least during the middle of the day on friday, which will occur after the opening ceremonies, so at least it will be at a better timeslot than what I had to deal with last year.
BTW, does anyone know the type of Font that the Sasuke logo uses?

I'm not sure what yours is like though. Is yours like the first panel? Not necessarily a good thing. You sir, have not experienced some of the bigger conventions like San Diego Comic Con, Anime Expo, and Anime Boston (his con), they start early in the morning, as early as 8am, lasting until late night (10pm or later). 2pm is good timing in the grand scheme of AB though. I haven't been to AB, I've had friends go, and I want to go, perhaps next year or something. BTW, does anyone know the type of Font that the Sasuke logo uses? It doesn't use a font, it was/is an artistic design that has yet to be replicated by a font. The closest you will get is the font we use for Sasukepedia's logo, which is "Seven Monkey Fury".

Thanks for that BTW, I've been using a lot of pictures from the Sasukepedia wiki page and as well as Rambling Rican's page too, so when the panel happens I'll be sure to give you guys credit for the pictures and I'll also definitely tell everyone about this forum too

Holy crap, I'm almost up to 100 slides already LOL
Since I only have an hour, I'm going to have to cut back on talking about a few things. I'm mostly going to talk about the obstacles that have been on the show and the competitors as well, but I'm going to try to get a Q&A session with Oti through Skype as well if I can do that.
Either way, I'm going to have to REALLY monitor my time frame.

Question, what is the Q&A you're talking about? Should I help since I have way too much knowledge of Sasuke? If so when is it?

To my knowledge, the Q&A segment will be questions like, "What's it like to ____?", since I apparently have "real television experience". I'll also be answering training questions if anyone out there wants to start on the terribly hard and lonesome road that is the Sasuke journey.

I regret to inform you that I am a vampire and, as such, do not show up in recordings. People seem to have forgotten that ever since Stephanie Meyer ruined the vampire genre.

Well even if it was just Sasuke in general I don't know when this was and if it was morning I probably wouldn't be able to help anyways I regret to inform you that I am a vampire and, as such, do not show up in recordings.
