As much as I like and respect Okuyama (the man's 40 and is consistent on the course), he seems out of place a bit. It's like G4 is doing this as "2 GRAND CHAMPIONS.....and this guy". Makes me wonder if they attempted to contact Akiyama. But I'm happy he's able to go and ECSTATIC that Yuuji's going. Posted in spoilers due to rather off-topicness Remind you of anything?

Im not as happy about this... most of the true fans are going to be shut out because of this last minute annoucement, I would have gone if i'd been given more than 2 days notice, now its impossible.

I know. That's why I was upset that they didn't mention this sooner. Be that as it may. I'm happy with the lineup that is coming the USA. I do hope they have a wonderful trip and are greeted with the respect and honor that is befitting their stature in Sasuke. I do hope the crowd not only knows who they are but treat them with respect. One of the rare times I cheer G4 though I do it halfway since the idiots should have done it earlier so fans of those specific people could have had time to make arrangements. After all quite a few people wouldn't travel to see ANW but would give their left nad to see the others from Sasuke.

I'm crapping myself. How incredible. I've never thought about taking a trip just to see ANW, but if next year's ANW is anything like this year's, I'll strongly consider making a vacation out of it.
Damn you g4 for your last minute announcements. Can't you ever get your act together?

It's not like they are bringing them over for the fans who are going to be there or to drum up attendance. This is all just another part of the "reality show" aspect of ANW.

Point taken but I think that's more incidental. Just an added bonus for the people who are already going to be there. People are saying that G4 needs to get their act together about this but I think that they are doing exactly what they planned to do: Having Nagano and company over is more important for ANW filming than anything else. They don't necessarily need a live audience for ANW. In fact, with their "OMGWTFBBQ NO SPOILERS!!11" attitude, the bigger the crowd the more likely that they'd lose control over the reporting of the event.

Agreed I expect also no one will even know wtf is Okuyama and why the old man is there... especially since none of them saw Sasuke 25 or even remember what he's done before.

I can imagine a Sasuke fan going with a casual fan trying to explain who that is... CF: Who's the old guy? SF: Okuyama Yoshiyuki CF: Who? SF: He made the Final Stage in Sasuke 24 CF: Which one was he? SF: He failed the Spider Flip in Sasuke 23 CF: People failed it in 23? SF: He also failed the Shin Cliffhanger in Sasuke 22 CF: Why are you calling it that? And still not ringing a bell SF: He's the guy who failed the Stick Slider in Sasuke 20.... CF: OH!!! HIM!!

Hoooooly cow!!!! Yuuji and Okuyama!?!? Wow, just wow. Oh and epic fail to G4 for announcing it this late. C'mon, if they're raelly aiming for 100K people to be there it would have been easier if they told us earlier. I reaaaally hope Yuuji gets some credit from the fans as well. It's incredible how the comments about the announcment on facebook were all going "omg omg nagano" and nobody gives a damn about Yuuji being there. Also hope that Okuyama isn't considered just a combo breaker but an elite competitor. ROFLMFAO.

I'm sure they went to M9 and said "we want Nagano and anyone you can give up" (makes calls.. crap.. everyone is busy).. okay you get these guys. But just like Mike said.. It's still awesome they get a chance to come here.
Rider.. that was just wrong.. but soooooooooooo right. Btw.. with no one watching Sasuke 25 yet before the tourney.. they wouldn't even know wtf happened.. then again.. I can imagine G4 going insane about "you can't ask him that.. it's going to destroy our program"..

I met all three of them. Super awesome. And short! Even Yuuji, who I imagined was taller for some reason. I didn't harass them too much for a signing, but I got Nagano's autograph (I think ) after I ran on Saturday. I'll upload it for you guys when I get home. I feel so lost without all my equipment...
