Okie dokie just got word that Nagano will be in L.A. for ANW2. Details are sketchy as I get them from Takasui (the company he works for). So be patient as I sort out the information. Seems he will be there on August 6th and on. I assume for the entire duration of ANW2. Another message I got in kanji mentioned in a question if he was part of the selection process so as I figure this out I'll post here. I originally put this in the ANW2 thread but figured this will get big shortly.

Replying to something in the other thread but I'll do it here.. However, this plan seems dumb if he's only used for "Hey look! Sasuke star from Japan!" bait. Chances are that's probably only what G4 did it for.. But on the plus side we can expect Nagano to make some good picks as opposed to if we leave G4 alone on this.. (While we did get some runs far into the first stage we only had 3 passing Stage 1 and out of those 3 only 1 was new.. |

I'm hoping Levi and Brian get invites strictly to adhere to already M9 rules on performance based invites.. but leave that to the other thread  Latest update as I'm getting them. Takasui just found out today so exact details are still being drawn out. He's arriving (or departing.. but I think arriving in USA) on August 6th. No news yet on who else is coming. |

Technically they are qualified if it was up to TBS/M9 but will G4 gibe them spots instead of them going through ANW? Probably not..

Hmm, I'm not so sure he's doing a "selection" for the finalists. Top 15 times on the course go through to the next round which is the week after with that potentially stupid house thing. So unless he's staying for like 3 weeks, I don't see it.

Well I'm going as I'm told. Seems they JUST found out in the office so this is late in terms of organization. All he knows right now is that he's going for the duration of ANW2.. how far past that is still fuzzy. I'm sure he's psyched.
Btw.. just realized something.. this might be the BLOW YOUR MIND news?

Breaking news: Nagano has to compete in ANW2 to get to SASUKE, but now he is eligible for $250,000
The above statement is NOT true. =P
To be honest, I personally think that he'll just show up to ANW2 for the spirits. However, if its BLOW YOUR MIND news, then...

LOL. Though I am curious wtf he's going to be doing now that Brian mentions that. It doesn't surprise me in the least though given how sketchy the details on the selection process is though ANW1 didn't have a "okay you are going" if they are trying to keep continuity. So I guess we'll find out. I'll see how long he's actually going to be here but not sure if they know yet. I'll keep you posted if they know something.

The question marks in the tweet are in an awkward place and are probably not intended to be there. I think the sentence just means that he's going to participate in a part of the event.
Also, it's not like he (or any of the other All-Stars) ever "selected" anyone at any of the other events that he's attended. He was just there to add an air of legitimacy to the proceedings.
From that, we must conclude that ANW = Maguro Festa in the minds of Monster 9.

aaaaargh I'm dying of envy for all the guys who'll be there...Even with all the crap G4 spread with this ANW I wanted to go.As long as I could think "Ah well, after all I'd be there only to cheer for my buds, and I can do that from here" the thought that there's no way for me to get there wouldn't really bother me. But now...daaaaamn. Still, happy he'll have the chance to get back to USA, he seemed to enjoy his last trip  I hope he has a nice time and he brings something special and good to this ANW. I hope more people get to see him. Especially those who missed him the first time around. Spread the word if you can. I know he loves meeting Sasuke fans - that's why he's so excited.

No freaking way.. I was thinking about going to ANW2 (even though i can't compete) so I could try out david's course and meet some fans and stuff... but I decided against it because I don't have much money right now.

How far is it for you? I'm sure he will be there at the very least until Monday. Maybe take a day to go down there just to meet him? Could be worth a trip. We don't know when he's coming back.
