Arsenette: Hey, ANW has its problems, but so do the japanese trials =p Atleast the first part of the ANW course was relevant to Sasuke. I mean a race + tug o' war competition? Come on. Actually the tug of war losers had to do the race. Opposite way But that was the only part of the Sasuke 22 trials I didn't like. They also had Heartbreak Hill (Warped Wall), and that Jumping over a Pipe thing that was similiar to Kunoichi 8's third stage (Jumping Spider?) It was actually heartbreaking seeing people fail there. I know there was a race AFTER the tug of war... but they had to run to get to the rope, so the faster you get there the more of an advantage you had.

Also Sasuke Trials are exactly what it sounds like... A Sasuke Trials... ANW is some kind of attempt at combining trials but making into their own person show in the process, but in the end trying to both of these things at the same time they ended up not doing either one right.

I won't complain about ANW simply because it was such a large improvement from the previous ANC's.
ANC1 was terrible. ANC2 was better but still had major flaws (I.E. the 1 Vs. 1 race where mark was eliminated by levi despite being the 2nd fastest over-all...) ANC3 for the terrible voting system, and ANC4 for Olivia picking the winner. (Though her top 3 WERE good choices... I have to give her some credit, darn it )

Hey with all the problems of Sasuke Trials at least they have them with regularity and they don't have the "you have to be coolz and we reserve to only take the totally hardcorez man" clause of casting. If you are in trials and beat it.. you go .. Period. They didn't have that and they didn't do that. The way it was set it up they were required my law to have completely fair. G4 and Pilgrim both had no say in who went (other than that they had to pass a background investigation). It was completely decided by the third party judges. If they had really reserved the right to send whoever they wanted regardless of the contest they probably would have bumped someone and sent me honestly! I think you're getting this idea from the disclaimer they had on the open casting call they posted on the internet. They were still working out the details when that was posted, so they just posted all their standard disclaimer info similar to what they had for all the ANC contests. Originally the final was stated to be an event on the beach where the top 15 would be ranked in various areas by a panel of judges which I assume was going to include Paul Terrek and the other MMA guy to select the final 10. I'm assuming the 3rdparty judges made them X that for legal fairness reasons, so they had to throw together that asinine final at the last minute. I heard Pilgrim isn't running it this time, so hopefully that in combination with G4 having gone though it once before will make things go more smoothly.

So you think it's a good idea letting G4 run this on their own?.. I think that's more likely to make things WORSE.. Why? It's G4.. Also you got to consider after ANW1 they're going to be flooded with more entries.. I think G4 will be overwhelmed with this whole thing.. Also isn't Pilgrim who gave them funding for their course too? Also.. "The other MMA guy"? You mean Olympic Wrestler Henry Cejudo? He competed in Sasuke 21 and failed the Halfpipe Attack (He tried to hug the rope.. he also had to be FF'd on G4 for dropping an F-Bomb in the water) Wait?... You mean you can't show up.. Say you're 21, win.. Then surprise everyone signing up to Sasuke as 18 and then it being too late since you already are there to run the course?.. Damn...

The other MMA guy was the one who explained the finals in ANW1. The background check was to make sure no one had anything bad on their records. Age was simply checked by ID.

They were still working out the details when that was posted, so they just posted all their standard disclaimer info similar to what they had for all the ANC contests. Disclaimer is there as a CYA maneuver. Legally they can do what they want since I've seen stuff like that happen all the time. PersonallyI think they didn't do anything because they got who they wanted int the top 15 (meaning no need to exercise what they wanted). Recently on Facebook they have been implying strongly about casting and not a contest. So something leads me to believe they are futzing again with the entries.. Only time will tell. Going on record to say that Levi and Brian better have direct entry to Sasuke and not make them go to ANW again. You know my reasons on them since it directly implies what happened in 25. Rich should go back to ANW if he wants to go again.

No, they legally couldn't do it. They talked about it a lot, they had to comply with fairness procedures set by the 3rd party judges. They were also required to hire these judges by law. Any kind of TV gameshow where there is a prize involved needs to hire them from what they told me.
Also Levi and Brian are going to have to go back and try out again at ANW2 like the rest of us. (otherwise they couldn't offer 10 slots).

Thanks for the explanation. California seems to live on their own world including with laws. I know East coast if you write it like that then they can do anything. I've seen it happen in the 11 years I dealt with law and 5 years in TV. Odd they would put that clause there at all.. kinda pointless really if it's not actually enforceable. That said I'm HAPPY that they can't do whatever they want. Just was talking about the actual written stuff being enforceable.
You sure they are getting 10 slots again or was that limited to ANW1? The backlash in Japan for those 10 was pretty high.. Given that the current Sasuke isn't even announced yet I doubt anyone knows the exact rules for ANW2 (in terms of actual spots). Would be highly unusual to know this early considering that M9 doesn't know yet either.. LOL

10 was a bit much, but then again almost none of them had numbers, so they didn't really take anyone's spot.

At least California's laws are better than Arizona's laws...

Yeah, there will be 10 again(that COULD change i suppose, but that's what the plan was last I heard). What I don't know is if they will be included in the Ninja Warrior airing, of if they'll just cram them all together at the end of the ANW2 airing like they did last time.

That's good to hear. Hopefully the location looks better than the parking lot they put the set in last year. It's not something you really notice, but location does help the atmosphere of the competition come across on TV better.

Yeah, saw that 30 minutes after he posted it on Twitter. Kinda surprised how late after they started accepting videos he was at entering that into his blog, but then again... he DOES have a life And it's not like he even needs to truly worry about entering.
