Rider, there are technically only 2 Ninja Gaiden games, 1 and 2.
There are a lot of add-ons to 1 though.
I'd say play Ninja Gaiden Sigma first, granted you have a PS#, it's the best Ninja Gaiden 1 version.
if you can't get that get Ninja Gaiden Black. I'm fairly certain it's PS2 AND Xbox, could be wrong though.
And if anything, get the original.
I like the first a lot better, you can roam more freely instead of being restricted to missons like in #2.
I'd play both though.
I know what gens 5-7 are, I was just in a hurry and couldn't choose anymore.

I'll do it now 5th Gen: Easily the playstation, the first CD based console. And these things ALWAYS WORKED. No matter how many scratches no matter how many dents, these always played. How do I know this? because When I was young my even younger brother literally smashed my megaman legends game into 5 peices. I picked up the largest peice which was about 1/2 the size of the normal CD, put it in my playstation, and played the ENTIRE game. Yeah, that was EPIC >_> N64 was close behind just because it had so many classics, but the PS2 revolutionized so much, had far superior graphics and a much larger library of games, the new technology was amazing. Sega Saturn was sadly... a bust. Not even a decent sonic game on it =/ sucks because I love Sega. Also, you're frogetting about the Atari Jaguar, they were on hiatus and returned to the scene with a clunker console that failed miserably. 6th Gen: Playstation 2 hands down. Infact, I shouldn't have even mentioned this, because it's so obvious that this blew the other systems away. Not a tank like the xbox, largest library of games, best graphics, best third party support, best interface, less faulty systems. It's just un-imageinable. Not only that, but had every type of game while xbox had your shooters and racing games, and that was about it... and gamecube of course only had little kids games =D obviously a few exceptions. And any multi-platform games didn't appear on the gamecube, that was easily in last place despite Super Smash Brothers Melee, the Game cube's only redeeming quality was THAT ONE GAME... Second place is what some people call a wierd choice... but he dream cast. It really was awesome, Sega is just so stupid though! They had SOOO much potential bu they released it at a bad time... They released only a few months before the ps2 came out. 1. Why buy a dreamcast now if a better system is right around the corner? 2. The Sega Saturn sucked! They'll only dissapoint us again! 3. Once the PS2 came out that was bought way more than the dream cast. It was an awesome short lived system though, games like Shenmue and Sonic Adventures easily put this as one of my favorite consoles ever, even though most would disagree. BTW, the dreamcast had AWESOME GRAPHICS for the time =] 7th gen: hoo boy... I'll just start off by saying the wii sucks. Do I need to go into detail? I shouldn't. Nintendo let me down, they let us all down, they let their hardcore gamers down and isntead are trying to appeal to my grandpa and my dog rather than me, a hardcore gamer and nintendo fan. 360 = explosion I take great care of my consoles, so if it breaks 5 times in 2 years for no reason, it's a faulty system, seriously, it's THAT bad. Good games, a FEW good exclusives, but most of it's games can be found on the PS3. PS3 wins. Soon to have more and ebtter exclusives, more potential with blue-ray meaning games have more memory resulting in better graphics. Free live, the system HOME. Not to mention this is almsot exactly what happend to the PS2, it's not meant to be amazing right out of the gate, it takes time, but in 5-10 years when 8th gen is out, no one will be touching their wii's or 360's, but ps3 will still be selling just like how ps2's are still selling now while Gamecubes and xbox's are done for =p It came a year after xbox so it's obvious why it has fewer games. it's also harder to make games for, why spend more money on a game for a system with less sold consoles? Which is why third party support sucks, but once developers learn the new programs and software, these games are going to be AMAZING. BTW, blue ray players cos tlike 800 bucks! This is a blue-ray player AND a game system with a free game, free internet, MP3 player, picture storage device, for only 500$. They ltierally lose money for each that they sell XD but it's an awesome deal, so if you're complaining about the price, SHUT IT. Maybe you shouldn't have spent 600$ on that silly I-phone.

Actually theres some older ones, en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ninja_Gaidenthe oldest new one would be the newer one (I think its called Ninja Gaiden Black or something, the one that I was talking about for Xbox and if you're correct PS2, thats been ported to both 360 and PS3. So which one? Xbox and backwards compatable, or just get the 360 port of the same game? And I'm not saying you don't, just trying to help you out.

Rider, there are technically only 2 Ninja Gaiden games, 1 and 2. Actually there are >5. The first three are classic, and also ridiculously hard. The birds will haunt my nightmares for a long time. (They show up in IWBTG, but they're not nearly as annoying as in Ninja Gaiden 1) The PS3 has it's downsides. The hardware is far superior to the 360, but there are still reports of massive failures of the entire console, so only time will tell if it becomes a widespread problem. The install sizes for games (which shouldn't exist in the first place) are ridiculously huge and fill up your hard drive very quickly if you don't upgrade. The loading times are also atrocious, although I think that applies to the 360 as well. Nintendo have always been fairly good with this. IMO the new gen is the worst ever for gaming. I hate to be clichéd and say 'style over substance' but it's true. It goes hand in hand with the increasing commercialisation of the industry. It's also the least progressive, eg. PS3 is much less of a leap from PS2 than PS2 was from the PSX.

And the RRoD report isn't as high as people make it out to be. And with the new Dashboard update 360 gave the option to instal games but I'm prety sure its only optional, But after seeing the new dashboard, I feel so damn lucky I don't have Live for once, that thing looks horrible. What happened to gaming actually being about the games? And 360 and PS3 are pretty damn good when you look at their competition, thats litterally a bit less powerful than PS2 was.

I was more referring to the console itself actually working efficiently. There's definitely discrepancy in a lot of multiplatform games, some favour PS3, some 360, some PC, etc. Having to pay for Live is a joke. Honestly I'm a bit confused as to how this relates to what I posted.

I don't even have a silver connection, Wired Internet is a joke, Even the DS and PSP have wireless internet and look how weak those are in comparison to 360, the fact the adapter is needed is a joke, $100 is completely retarded I was talking about all the discussion of harware being less used than it should be then I said that its technicly should be about games, granted hardware is important but whats the point of being powerful if you lack alot of good games................... I guess Sony knows........

I wasn't talking about hardware. The entire gaming experience is the same as the last generation, but with prettier graphics, and even then, not that much prettier. The only new thing is the prevalence of online gaming on consoles. Little Big Planet, for example. It's a 2D platformer with a level editor. The only reason it's so 'revolutionary' is because of the marketing and popularity.

Actually so I've noticed newer consoles run more smoothly than their last gen counterparts, And look at the history of games, not too much of a step up alot of times back then either. But it all adds up over time, I mean look at how revolutionary the SNES was back then compared to the NES, doesn't hold up much to todays standards but it paved the way for what we have today didn't it?

I have every system EXCEPT the PS3. I buy gaming rigs according to the games I want to play. I bought the 360 last year only when I found a game I wanted. I tell you one thing. Live is all that and a bag of chips. The amount of money I save downloading demos and crap that would otherwise cost me a fortune going to the video store is worth the Gold membership.
As for yesterday.. 360 upgraded their system and added Avatars (*cough*Totally ripped idea from the Nintendo Wii version of mii's*cough* and more importantly integrated live streaming from Netflix.. PURE F%ing GENIUS.. I spent 4 hours putting anime and other media on my playlist and it instantly put it on my Xbox.. I spent last night watching anime I never saw before.. Again.. PURE GENIUS..

The library and users vs. the PSN network is far superior on the Xbox since their gaming library is that much larger. You can't compare Live as it is now to any online system including the Wii and the PS3 at this time. They have a lot of catching up to do. As much as I can gripe about all the system quirks and pain in the nards problems (they all have them).. Microsoft was a genius to create the Live network that works well outside of gaming chat. PSN can't even compare at this time.

I guess its a case of you get what you pay for isn't it? I actually strongly agree with this statement. You do get what you pay for. The capabilities in Live and more importantly the STABILITY of Live has been made due to the fact that it is a paid service. It's more than a chat service for each online game you play. More than a patch updater. It's become an obscenely huge community that uses Live for many things outside of gaming. You have access to Movies, videos, music that otherwise would be relagated to internet browsing or even rental at a video store. Live in seamlessly integrated in everything. Comparing it to the Wii (which is free) you have very limited access to anyone. Email is a joke. Online interaction is limited to playing with Miis.. PS3 is very far behind in all aspects. The community is much smaller by comparison since Xbox had a 3 year jump start on perfecting Live. Maybe in another 3 years it will be different but right now it's apples to oranges. And yes.. it is worth the money for the services provided. I already know how much money I saved .. We used to rent all these games, etc. in video stores. I don't have to even leave my house. It's one fee for the whole year that's 1/20th the cost of using a video store and 1000% less the aggravation.

They're still behind on the times with wired internet though, I mean with as bad as Wii is, at least its free and wireless, although losing connection in the middle of SSBB sucks, I'm sure alot of random people it matched me with think I'm quiting.
And I think IWBtG made up for being short with being hard. But I've at least finally had a decent chalenge in a game.

I guess I don't really care about online interaction other than actually playing games and downloading demos. Never had any problems with PSN, not even one.
Well done if you beat IWBTG this quickly, although you must've played it quite a lot. I can't tell you how long it took me to beat The Guy (the boss). It's longer than it's ever taken me to do one thing in a video game, by quite some margin.

Proof or it didn't happen Rider ;]
I bet you only beat one boss, you gotta beat em all =D
But the ghost and goblins and gouls or whatever the name is, is the hardest part of the game by FAR.
That part sucked.
And did you use savestates Rider? Because if you did ur a jack@$$ D:
I'm going to take Final Fantasy Tactics off of my top 10 list to input a game MUCH better that I totally forgot about. =D
Jet Grind Radio! adio adio...
That game was soo epic, and the music was epic, and the gameplay was epic... and I've spent more time on that game than any newer gen games.
And I agree, this gen kinda sucks D: But that probably means next gen is going to rock hard. Right now theya re experimenting, trying to do new things and learning new technology. By next gen it should be perfected, and The PS4, Xbox 12,000, and Nintendo Triagonal Piiramid will be the best systems ever...
Responding to some points made in this thread:
Obviously Xbox has a better live, you have to pay friggin 50 dollars a year for it, and it's been out for years before the PS3 even started theirs. Also, not only is it copying of the Wii's Mii's, but PS3 has had this system "Home" in the works for quite some time, but Xbox but them to a release I think... either way, PS3 was second.
I'm getting one this christmas! =]
Totally excisted for FF VERSUS 13. The teams of advent children and Kingdom hearts 2 coming together? You can't get any more epic.
And this for Rider specifically: Multi-platform games for the PS3 and 360 GENERALLY look better on the 360, as you said. But that's the problem, they arn't specifically made for the PS3. There was an announcement at E3 this year that the regular Final Fantasy 13 will appear on the 360. I bet you it'll be a HELL lot better on the PS3, because that's what it was intended for. I wouldn't be surprised if it was 2-3 disks on the 360 like old school Final Fantasy =p
None of them are close to perfect though, and I can complain about them all because I've played them all extensively. Microsoft just pisses me off. Nintendo pisses me off almost as much, but I sitll have respect because they just recently turned into douchebags while microsoft has always been, and I respect Nintendo for starting gaming backup with their NES.
I respect Sony because they actually lose money with their PS3's. I'd say they're all greedy, but I bet Sony is a lot LESS greedy than the other two >.>
Personal opinion of cours,e but I'd be happy to debate it =D

Don't have a screen recorder, I would play it again if I did. And nope, no save states.
And I also got Rock Band on saturday, Drums are fun, can't get guitar to conect and I'm not doing vocals.
aren't there some games originally PS3 exlcusive then were multiplatform?

Post by Badalight on Nov 25, 2008 15:07:26 GMT -5
No, most multi games are meant for 360, or just meant to be compatible with both.
I'm not aware of any that were meant for the PS3 and were later transfered to the 360.
There IS however, Devil May Cry 4, which was originally planned for the PS3, but then it was announced it'd be multiplatform and they had a release date on the same day for both consoles, so it doens't really count as it wasn't intended only for PS3.
