I do hope the first two ledges are flat, otherwise IMO the competitors are screwed. Plain and simple. They are totally screwed then because those first two ledges are NOT flat 100% the whole bottom half is inclined. well, they could have done something like this. but then what about the last ledge? Uhm... I'm afraid that competitors are really royally screwed...crap.

yamfriend: Oh okay you were saying the ledges themselves. I wondered that too, but honestly if they were not fixed to have flat grabbing sections I don't think that will be a problem, the angle of the wall is not very big so it won't be all that much more difficult. But either way they might have made them trapezoidal, I think they probably did but im not 100%

But now that you make me think about it they couldn't because otherwise slanting the wall would have been useless, competitors would have kicked the lower ledges anyway

If that last ledge was slanted too... yo...... whoa.... They might actually do that when this cliff hanger starts getting beaten.

well, they could have done something like this. This is what I was trying to explain, but I guess a picture of it is way easier to represent it than in words. Thanks for literally showing my point arty!

Tehhehhehhe you're welcome. ;D The more I think about it, the more I'm convinced they did that. I mean, I've never had to, but I'm pretty sure hanging from a slanted CH is kinda impossible.

That's pretty darn true, arty. Unless you have UNCLI-level cliff hanging skills AND an insanely good grip, you have virtually no chance of beating it---and even then it's a stretch.

I was wondering about this. I agree. This is probably how it'll be.

Im worried about the shorter people. Will they be able to reach that high?

Maybe they can jump like doing the Power Hanger?

Unless the people are super, super short, I imagine they could pull themselves up hard and grab the ledge.
Or they could jump like intelligentinfer said.

Even if they did that, if the ledge was still 3 cm it'd be harder. Your fingers would probably have less room, even if just a few millimeters it'd still be a tad harder.
I still believe it's angled, but we can't prove if it is or isn't until the broadcast, anyone wanna bet?

Chances are we'll get the inspection shot.. I mean there were 1000 angles of the original Shin Cliffhanger in 18 now weren't there?

The first 2 diagonal ledges are wider on the bottom than on the top to compensate for the angle of the plywood they are attached to. So they're basically flat on the top. Don't ask how I know, but I know What I want to know is what's to stop you from using your feet? This obstacle would be super easy if you just braced yourself with your feet on the wall the whole time. Even if they say "don't use your feet" it would be hard to resist the natural tendancy to steady yourself with your toe a little at key moments, which could be a huge help. So are they going to disqualify people right and left when they touch the wall or just let is slide?

@david: I think the wall is too angled to help you use your feet and honestly would only make it harder since your focusing your bodies energies on a task that won't help much. Now I can see people using their feet on the first part though, they get up to the 2nd ledge and put their feet on the first ledge to help jump up to the third, I saw that the guy falling in this video did that (obviously didn't help him much though) but putting your feet on one of the lower ledges itself would be alot easier and I also don't see how they could really disqualify someone for it because it will probably be a natural reaction thats very hard to resist.

The guy in the vid didn't use his feet, it just seems like he does.

If you pause it the moment it switches to him, looks exactly like he is pushing up with his foot on the ledge, its so fast its hard to tell if he is or is not. Either way though, I think it would be funny if they disqualify you for that. I do wonder though if you are allowed to just try to jump up to the higher ledges from the start if indeed you can.

Don't ask how I know, but I know Are we allowed to speculate? Because we know who could have seen it up close and you have a connection to.. Granted I've heard the announcers.. I think TBS kind of likes this person alot despite some things fans didn't like.. I think they would disqualify for using it the whole time but I think a few hits here and there would slide (make it look like an accident ) but I think the angle of the wall makes it pretty hard to do. What I'm wondering whats stopping you stop you from stepping on the ledge when going up??
