What competitors do you wish performed just a little bit better than they usually do? Which would you like to see more of each time they're in the tourney?
For me, #1 on the list is Genki Sudo, the retired Mixed Martial Arts champion who appears occasionally. In addition to being a world class athlete, the guy had ridiculously entertaining choreographed ring entrances. It's well worth an afternoon's YouTubing. He's young enough to have a good run at Sasuke going forward, but he's never gotten past halfway through the first stage. If he could establish himself as a real threat, though, he'd a whole lot of fun.
#2 is 50+ TV host Ishimaru. Wish he could clear Stage 1 at least once.
#3 is Comedian Wakky. He does well enough in #1 Sportsman that he has potential to go pretty far.
And of course, Rie Komiya. She should be on my TV screen as much as possible.

I'm going to say this person before someone else gets in *coughblmcough* but I would really like to see takuya kawahara make it to the second stage to see how he'd get on.
And I agree with you 100% on the last thing you said.

Who do you think I want to do better? Just take a guess! (refers to avatar/profile/signature/custom name/etc.)

I want Kenijro Ishimaru to pass the stage but his age seems to be catching up to him

Kota Honma. He had so much promise after finally beating the first stage back at 17.

First af all, Akiyama. With all his problems he's still done amazing, but I'm a lil' sad when I think about that. I still wonder what would have happened if he passed the Pipe Slider back in 12 (screw you G4 for digesting him!) Then...Kenjiro Ishimaru, Paul Terek. Oh and, man, I wish Chie Nishimura, even if she only competed twice in Sasuke, could have passed the Second Stage. She's the only woman to have ever passed the First Stage (even if way back in Sasuke 2). You should know what that means to me

Kota Honma has time to turn his results around, certainly.
I wish Luci Romberg had done a little better in her second appearance, though I don't know if she can pass the Warped Wall. I think she couldn't make it in some G4 beach event. It would have been interesting to see her on Kunoichi 8.

Washimi Yuji. He has great potential, beating the first stage in 19 and 18, two of the hardest courses in history. But that stupid Salmon Ladder keeps stopping him

Dunno how 18 was a hard tourney...
After watching Venus's Yamada video... I can't get over the fact at how much he tries yet doesn't succeed.

Dunno how 18 was a hard tourney... 18 was a very hard tourney at the time. Only a handful of people beat the fourth obstacle.

Everything was new, of course people arn't going to do very well regardless of how hard the actual obstacles are.
18 was infact too easy, which is why they made it harder in 19.
The hardest imo are 19 and 22.

A lot of people passed in 18 despite the obstacles being new. It wasn't hard, that's why they changed it for 19 in the first place. They failed at making it hard.

6 people is a lot considering almost every obstacle was new. 19 and 20 had less than that combined and that's after the course was more familair. 22 was harder, though people knew the obstacles a bit better, the slider jump took out a TON of people. 18 is one of the easier shin tournaments. Do you not remember it's stage 3? It was a cake walk Not only that, but it's stage 4 was a METAL LADDER instead of a rope ladder. Easier than the newer final stage. Stage 2 was of course easy with the shoulder walk and that stupid net obstacle. So really the only stage that can even compare to other shin sasuke stages is stage 1, and it is still one of it's easiest renditions. So no, Sasuke 18 was not hard.
