So after watching Kongo beat the Cliffhanger in the way he did, I've been thinking about it a lot.
I mean, to the point where I had a dream I was climbing on countless Shin Cliffhangers, where it was the 2nd gap, every time. And I dreamed I did it every time like Kongo did.
Made me wonder. Would it actually be a reasonable idea to practice it like he did it, provided you have the arm reach and strength to pull it off?
If no, then it's still a better idea to do it how David imagined it.
Man... I need to find a place to make one soon...

I'm sure since Kenji's successful technique worked that everyone is going "holy crap lemme try that" or something similar building on their strengths. Nagano's arms are too short for him to reach so he jumps.. but Kenji's go longer arms so he tried something else. The possibilities have really opened up.

I'd say it would help to practice as many different techniques as you can under as many conditions as you can and stick with what you're ultimately comfortable with.

I agree with penguincatfish.
In my opinion, Nagano's technique is the easiest and most comfortable. So, I stick with that one.

Kongo's technique is hard on the shoulders, I injured myself doing basically what he did over a year ago and have not fully recovered, so be carefull!

Nagasaki Shunsuke looked like he was in pain just from the stretch. But not having water below you when trying it on a replica of your own? I'm sorry to hear about that fall of yours lol sometimes you feel so stupid when you just realized "that was a bad idea.."

I tried kongu's technique (on my regular cliffhanger mind you) and I failed hard. Maybe it's good for someone like him, but I have incredibly weak shoulders and that was just painful.

Actually... I beat ya by 2 days I'm sure I'm late.. but I just found out Ryo Matachi got a YouTube Channel (so that's 2 Cliffers on YouTube now) First of all.. I can't possibly think of anyone sleeping in that room.. LOL Hmm.. looks like he got a haircut and a fresh dye job as well.. ROFL!!! Anyway he's got a few videos up of him on the Cliffhanger in his room. Thought you might find it of interest.

I don't even understand how Ryo does that showing off version of the technique Kenji used in that second video. I tried that on my small scale replica of the current cliffhanger. It hurts my wrist so bad. It requires a good amount of wrist flexibility. Usually when I train for the cliffhanger, I use the reaching technique at least once. I like it more than the jumping one, because there is less chance that you can mess up the gap IMO. It is uncomfortable on the shoulders though.

No sweetie that's called being PWNED ahahahhaha j/k We were discussing the timing of the video vs. when Sasuke was. This was taped in early September. I wasn't paying attention to the timing and when I saw Kenji do that I was going "wait a minute.. I saw that somewhere.." but was so damn fried from the 2 straight days of blogging and internet hell that my brain melted Either way I'm looking forward to his videos

But yeah, he makes my training feel insignificant. I still can't to the shin cliff-hanger, the normal way.
