...Nagano fell on the Slider Jump first time?
Probably like most others, I didn't notice at all that it had stopped early, and my reaction (even sitting at my computer) was very similar to Levi's. I though for sure he'd pass it, especially with most people before him completely owning it at speed.
Speaking of Levi's reaction, I'd been wondering where that would come in after they showed it in the Navi. I thought it would be for Brian, and after he passed, I assumed it was one of the cut American runs. Certainly wasn't expecting it for Nagano.

I was shocked that he released from the bar so early. I also wondered why it looked like he was flung from the bar- of course the malfunction was why.

At first I was like OH NOOOO
Then I just kind of facepalmed thinking how could Nagano lose after failing here once, building a replica, and M9 making the SJ easier than before.
Then I saw nagano's reaction and I was like... wlel that's kind of wierd, shouldn't he be upset? He's kind of... angry? Excited? I couldn't really read it.
Then they showed the replay with different music and I'm like.... oh snap.

How was it easier? (Not saying it wasn't, but what was different? ;D) The track was longer, compare them, 22 has the last level of the track shorter than the other 2 and in 23 all 3 levels are the same but the jump is slightly longer. Anyways, When I saw his run not knowing it was his first one it took me a minute to tell what was going on, All I saw was it looked like he jumped from earlier than he should but he still managed to jump so he didn't let go early (had he let go early he would just fly forward, sort of like Terek in 22). Then when he was getting out looked up and started pointing and then Takeda came over and they both started looking at it (And you can hear one of the ANW guys saying "Oh.. That was bogus....") and then they started showing the rope I was thinking "Oh that's not right...", Then when the replay didn't have the failure music and they said "Mou Ichido" I was thinking "Holy crap! They're giving him another chance!?" Although I was shocked at the final stage when they lowered the time by 5 seconds. When he had about 16 or so seconds from about the same height from the past final stages I was thinking "Holy Crap! Second Kanzenseiha!?" and was completely shocked when he failed...

Slider Jump is no different from before. Actually the rumor I'm hearing is that the distance between the end of the pole track is closer to the start of the Jump hang. Basically putting it back into reach of a few competitors. It's not a drastic thing but close enough. The other thing is the fact that people are a lot more prepared so they are not 'surprised' when they get there. That alone plays a huge factor in how they tackle the thing. They had time to prepare for it. As for what I felt for when I saw him fall.. utter shock. I knew something was wrong instantly because he was soooooo far off the jump hang.. I was going "wait that can't be right..".. and when they did the review the first time and saw when he let go.. I counted almost 2 feet .. THEN they explained the malfunction. So yes I was freaking out going OMG.. but immediately knew something went wrong since he was too far from the Jump hang when he went down.

It was all sudden. He was going so fast, then I saw his body twist and fall straight down in the water and I screamed. Not joking, I actually full-lungs screamed then started crying. I facepalmed and for a few seconds I couldn't even think. When I saw him coming up and swimming I started to think "NO...no...no it can't be...he never makes the same mistake twice...it can't be..."; when he came out I noticed he wasn't laughing as usual, he was totally PISSED, I realized something wasn't as it should have been. Then i saw the rope and started crying even more..I was SOO relieved...I was so shocked that I didn't even notice the fact that he borrowed Toshihiro's shirt, again, and it was too large for him...again. I would have smiled usually, but not then.

I was saying to myself, "Seriously? Again?" because I did not expect him to fail that obstacle again. I couldn't tell what he did wrong though, because I was watching it through Keyhole. All I knew was that he was at the Slider Jump, and I heard the announcer scream that he fell. Then I see him coming out of the water, saying something about rope. I was eventually able to see what had happened and was happy that they gave him a redo. I just hoped he wouldn't mess something up in the first stage though on his second try haha.

I calmly said "That was the worst jump i've ever seen" Kind of a cold reaction considering he's by far my favorite competitor, however my initial feeling was, if THAT is the best he can do, he got what he deserved.
Of course I understood was he was saying in the water more or less, and then started praying he'd get a rerun, WHEW!

Slider Jump is no different from before. Did you not see the difference in the gap? So far you're one of the few that doesn't believe it changed at all. Either A. the track is longer B. they moved the net closer It's not the same Slider Jump, that's for sure. David said it wasn't aswell, I'd assume he'd know the distance of it well considering he has one.

No idea, don't have a searchable video to consult.

I was shocked and confused because Travis had already let it slip that he made it to the final stage! So I was just like "huh? WTF?!?!?!"
Especially after seeing so many people clear it easily now that the gap is kind of a joke.

No idea, don't have a searchable video to consult. Well there are a few up on youtube, I'm not saying who in case G4 comes but I'm sure you know who put them up, I'll go post them in the secret place (although if he tells me to remove the links I would, I doubt he would)

It looks like what they changed was how high up the bar holding the net is mounted. it's lower now which effectivly makes the net much closer. Here's a pic I took at Sasuke 22 where you can see how much higher the net is mounted than where the slider bar is. I'll look for a similar angled screen show from 23. 1.bp.blogspot.com/_J31xTee0Pts/Sr52Q_nZS8I/AAAAAAAAKDA/44VbexdFOqM/s1600-h/P1010018.jpg

Well heres a daytime pic of the SJ from 22's navi And heres from 23 And an interesting thing to point out, heres the gap And when I realized the first 23 run I found when I skipped to a run was Kawahara Takuya I decided to check 22, and it looks like the gap is farther in 23 (And it also looks like the reason I miss jnet XD)

Blah. I give up. [a href=" "][/a][/url] The last guy is David Campbell... He was on TV! That's right, I said it! If anything, they probably just lowered the top of the net by a few inches. Somebody should just make a model in Sketchup based off David's picture and see how it lines up with the angles from 22 and 23 or something.........
