When Shingo beat stage 1, I nearly peed my pants.
As for the obstacles, I thought the Doctuple Steps (Is that what its called?) was cool, but I think the wipeouts are funnier when there running. You have to be slow on this obstacle now.
And the Curtain Slider was cool.........
But the Unstable bridge is by far my favorite new obstacle.
I'm going to start building that thing today.

I think that the whole thing was amazing. The drama was incredible. The new obstacles were great. And I love when alot of people pass but this was just unbelivable I never belived that 16 people would pass the first stage on shin sasuke. And tha all stars are back to the best (well 3 of them)

I enjoyed it, even though I only got to see the first stage.

Yeah, Shingo dislocated his left shoulder. Again. According the announcers, anyway. Overall, awesome tourney. 16 passing stage 1 was unreal, but I was glad to see Stage 2 wipe out more than half. Nice to see the Salmon Ladder still doing its job, the time cut made for some great finishes (Okuyama and Shingo) and that fall of Yuuji's from the Unstable Bridge was hilarious, especially after he made a save when he almost slipped off the first board. It was interesting seeing Spider Flip fails, too (I expected it for Takeda after how tired he was from the climb up, but Okuyama just had bad form), and I feel bad for Kenji Takahashi; one more swing and he would've made it to the final. The two finalists seemed to have a bit of trouble with the G-Rope, maybe it is actually bungee and harder to climb? Who knows. To all of you who say Nagano was robbed in *23*, the point is moot because honestly, 40 seconds is a better time limit, and not to mention Yuuji didn't make it with 45 seconds either. I agree that he was robbed in 21, but not in 23; he was just too slow.

Yeah, 40 seconds is very fair since we all already saw someone attempt it in the last one while it was at 45. So you can't really use the excuse that it's new or that no one's seen it be attempted or something.

I was surprised they actually changed the time limit, I thought they wouldn't touch the final stage after creating it... wasn't that the deal? I mean... it stayed from 5-17 with no chances. I'm sort of glad it's 40 because 45 was definately the wrong time limit, but the fact it took them 2 tries to get it right is LAME. If it was 40 when Yuuji ran I would've been happy, based on the sheer fact that arn't supposed to change the final stage. 45 was their mistake, they should've taken t he consequences. I mean, Kanno would've lost, but Nagano would be 2 time right now I'm not mad that it's 40 seconds, I'm mad that it start out as 45, if that makes any sense...

There was never a rule that stated that the Final Stage had to be kept the same throughout. The reasons why they never were changed in previous versions was because they were perfect as is. This one wasn't so they corrected it. The Final Stage is still a stage like the other three.

As for the obstacles, I thought the Doctuple Steps (Is that what its called?) The proper term would be Dodeca Steps (most likely the name G4 will give).

My thoughts are pretty much jumbled together, even more than usual. Well, I did have some middle-of-the-night famblee drama which didn't help my concentration, but this is what hit me the most:
1. Sweet thanks to Jason and Unc for the streams. Very generous of you; you were great hosts. I'm such a spoiler-w**** I had Keyhole running simultaneously, and even that wasn't bad.
2. Takahashi! Although to my everlasting shame, I slept through his stage 3 run, stages 1 and 2 were fantastic. I'm glad we didn't see him crammed into the Spider Walk (how does he fit into that thing, anyway?), and he's just made for Stage 2. I can't wait to see him in Stage 3 when the recordings start filtering out.
3. Yuugi's no fluke; neither is Kanno.
4. Way to go, Shingo. Nice to see him with his head out of his nether regions.
5. Brian Orosco really did look hella hungover in Stage 1.
I'll probably think of a bunch more once I get some more sleep.

It was one of the best tournaments yet up until the third stage when people kept failing the unfailable parts. Guess they're not so "unfailable", are they?

I'll be working on the blog in pieces so I ask everyone to bear with me. I literally went into a coma late this morning so it will take me abit to get the picture blog up and running.
