What did you think of SASUKE 23?
What did you like, didn't like, etc?

It just keeps getting more and more interesting for the tournaments as of late. From the new obstacles, to new faces appearing and passing Stage 1, stage 2 for being intimidating once again, stage 3 being the make or break and of course the final stage.

For my first live broadcast, it pretty much had everything and then some. New surprises (three new obstacles, two obstacle modifications and two lowered time limits), shocking fails (Sato, Lee, Nagano's malfunction fail, Levi, Shingo and Yuuji), disappointments (multiple timeouts disheartening fails on Salmon Ladder, Spider Flip and Kenji's Gliding Ring fail) and the commercials that made everyone hate TBS lol. Nagano's Final Run is a different discussion.
Great tournament, can only get better with 24.

It was one of the best tournaments yet up until the third stage when people kept failing the unfailable parts. And Nagano totally got robbed and Yuuji totally got an unfair advantage with the different times between the two tournament's final stage

Great tournament some suprises like Takahashs great run!
I knoew Nagano would get to the final and it would be very tight ( I approve of the 5 second time cut) But just still imagine had it been still 45 would have been job done. But next time he will conquer it even at 40 he more or less had it.
But what Makes Nagano incredible here is he beat stage 1 twice 2 3 and then made it to the top of the final just timed out by 2 seconds ARGH. Hes my true Hero =D
Kanno what a great run although the trailer kinda gave away it would be him when we got to stage 3.
Takhashi WOW he impressed me I seriously doubt he would beat the final but he was finger tips from a shot at it. Bad Luck.
Takeda and Okuyama aquitted themselves well again Takeda keeps getting nearer - his time will come.
Lee's wipe out was a bit of a suprise!
Stage 2 is much improved 10 sec less and a new UNSTABLE BRIDGE made it much more enjoyable to watch.
Shingo had a great run just a shame his shoulder went on him again!
Yuuji man I really felt for him it was so sad to see but he will bounce back!!
I'll add more thoughts later now just awaiting the recording so I can DVD It!!

The regulars pretty much nailed stuff like the cliffhanger, but still a little shaky in stage 2, which may explain why they tend not to clear stage 3 regularly. Some of the new guys look promising. Missed Bunpei. I'm used to their commercial slots, but still don't really like them, lol

I liked all of it besides Levi showing off in stage one.
And Shingo failing stage three. Seriously? The Arm Rings?

Yuuji didn't win, did he? It was just and goes to prove that the course it harder than some think.
I really liked the new First Stage especially the new obstacles. Seeing people fly through them was great. The Second Stage was awesome proving that the Salmon Ladder is still challenging by many and the new Unstable Bridge was insane. In the Third Stage, I liked how it was so unpredictable. In the Final, both were good, however, Nagano probably wasn't climbing at his 17 speed. Still, great tournament.

I jinxed Shingo, I swear. I was like... damn, everyone is getting deep into stage 3. It's been a LONG time since we've had an arm ring failure... OH s***.

I liked a lot to see a reasonable number of competitors going to second and third stage. It was my first broadcast, and it's been awesome. I liked the drama in the third stage. Most, I liked that ALL STARS TEAM IS STILL THERE! Obviously not for the poor Bunpei and Kazuhiko, but Yamada got really far, even though he's not passed his nightmare stage. Toshihiro did great, beating the obstacle that beated him in 22. Shingo came back to his glory, although his damned shoulder didn't allow him to go over the Arm Rings in stage 3. Kenji Takahashi surprised me, and even if I don't like him I have to say he did pretty well, maybe he would have reached (but not beated) final stage if he did notice the stopper and could have used his body weight to generate momentum. I'm sorry for Lee and happy for Hitoshi Kanno, even if he didn't even get close to kansenzeiha in my opinion. I'll comment Nagano's run in it's topic, but I will say it here also: HE WAS ROBBED! Yuuji Urushihara had it too easy, really too easy. For him the Gliding Ring worked, for Makoto no. For him the Final Stage had 5 more seconds, and he didn't clear, and Makoto with 5 less seconds failed achieving total victory by inches. Won't talk anymore here in this thread about this.

I liked this tournament alot. Unfortunately, my alarm didn't wake me up, and I wound up turning on Keyhole when Kanno was running it. And, I was shocked to see how many people had actually passed the first stage. I thought the new obstacles were cool, and I'm very happy with the time cut and the new obstacle in the second stage. I was also stunned at some of the fails (Urushihara, Nagano's first run, Okuyama, Takeda, etc.). Seeing Takahashi finally pass the cliffhanger and make it so far made me happy as well as I'm a big fan of his. Finally, I really like the five second time cut in the final stage as it makes it so much harder even though it cost Nagano a second victory.

he probably re-injured his shoulder. That's my take on it. He had ZERO grip.. something was wrong right from the get go.

I was really happy to see Shingo back where he belongs, stage 3 I hope his shoulder gets better again for the next tornament I was upset about Takeda but next time he'll make the finals Yuuji, what can I say, that was sad Nagano... I didn't like it that he got a second go :@

Curtain Slider Sucks. It was one of the best tournaments though. Epic amount of win. Some awesome falls.
Highlights: -Nagano Baby -Burritos -2 final stage runs -2 of the new obstacles were cool -Levi's creepily identical reaction to every run "ohhh NOOOOOOOO *head grab* ohhhhh......s***"
Lowlights: -When people kept failing stage 3 -When Levi showboated despite that never going down well anywhere outside of japan. -When some of my faves failed. :/
Kunoichi in a week ish? good.

Whoever was translating on chat said they gave Nagano the Mr SASUKE title, what do we think about that?

The fact that Nagano did the 1st stage TWICE and still got that far is impressive. This tournament was completely worth waking up early for. It got me pumped up big time, and I know today will be a great training day.
