Change the title to Nagano's run.
And yes he did. There was a malfunction on slider jump where the rope got caught by a scaffolding, making the stick stop 2ft before the end.
Although people thought that he failed, the mistake was found and he was given another try at night.

Sure enough on that. I'm still amazed that it actually happened though for the malfunction and he made sure to call it out.

I've never seen him angry like that. No smiles, no anything. Head down, walking quickly.
Then Takeda snapped him out of it.

I spoke with Shane Daniels, and he said that once they found out it was a technical fault, Nagano was given one hour to rest before they ran him through again.

P.S. The explanation of the Mr. Sasuke. Apparently they called Nagano the KING of Sasuke.. (thanks Ube for that).

That was awful . I shouted and cryed before noticing that it had happened again, the course revolted against him! Sasuke 21, Gli/rinding Ring. Sasuke 22, Sj's rope breaking in his hand. And now Sj again! When I finally noticed that they gave him the second try, I was so relieved that I cryed even more. Again and again, MAKOTO-san HAS BEEN ROBBED! Gliding ring worked for Yuuji in 22 , but not for him in 21 obviously. For Yuuji the tower's time limit was 45 seconds, for him it was 40! If he had 1.5 seconds more now we would be celebrating Nagano Makoto's second Kanzenseiha. Not Yuuji's fault, but that's so annoying. To me, Nagano Makoto today achieved Kanzenseiha, no matter what other people say.

Sasuke 22, Sj's rope breaking in his hand. For crying out loud, the rope didn't break. The sun whitewashed the video and made it look like it, and the tension of Nagano grabbing for a rope made it move. Repeat after me. The Slider Jump Cargo Net DID. NOT. BREAKAgain. The Slider Jump Cargo Net DID. NOT. BREAKOne last time. THE SLIDER JUMP CARGO NET DID NOT BREAK.Thank you.

Yeah, the cargo net didn't break. I don't know why everyone keeps on saying that. Also, the 45 second limit wouldn't have made for a good final stage; he would've had 3.5 seconds left at that mediocre speed on the rope... And by the way, he had exactly 43 minutes to rest between 1st stage runs.

I'm still HOLY CRAP thinking he was that close to the end in the time allotted given he ran 5 full stages.....

Honestly, it may be weird for me to say this, but that was easily my favorite moment this tourney. Disagree if you'd like, but boring tournaments are just that... boring.
I like drama, and this just proved how amazing Nagano is. No matter what you throw at him, he can't be stopped. Well... except by timed 23 meter climb.
Kanno beating stage 3 was the 2nd best moment, and I'm not even a big fan of Kanno. You can just tell how passionate he is about Sasuke, and teh music was so perfect.
When Nagano won the atmosphere was pretty much just like... well it's about freaking time!! What took you so long? Should've happend in 18, and again in 21.

Because Yuuji only took 17 seconds to beat heavenly ladder while Nagano took 19.
