Yuuji only ran 4 stages. Nagano ran Stage 1 twice within the course of 70 minutes difference, and then ran Stage 2, 3 and 4.
Not knocking Yuuji, that guy is awesome and I'm sure he'll do extraordinarily well next time as well. But Nagano was meant to win in 22 IMHO, due to it being his B-Day and recent marriage. I whole-heartedly believe that, that was the reason they had the easy gliding ring and 45 second final stage. But it was not meant to be.

I find that nagano is super fast at spider climb. so i guess thats why he achieved kanzenseiha back then.

No... Nagano lost this time due to his slow Rope Climb.
In 17, he climbed it with less time on the clock, and beat the stage with time to spare.
In 23, he had to climb the same distance withmore time and didn't win.
He just didn't climb very fast that day, coulda been from fatigue 2 stage 1's, the stress, or he simply wasn't motivated as much as he was in 17.
Or a mixture of all 3.
We really will never know.
he is capable of beating the stage, it just wasn't his day.

After watching and analyzing the videos I am posiive the G-Rope is substantially more difficult to climb.
The amount of overlap between the Ladder and Rope is about half a meter, but when both Nagano and Kanno transferred, the amount of overlap increased to well over a meter meaning the rope somehow has nearly a meter of give/ bounce.
So when a competitor grabs the rope to pull up, part of the rope comes down as well meaning every pull results in less distance.
Watch the videos again and see what I mean.

yea, especially given the amount of space and accuracy while doing the ladder, it's just add on to the stress. What i mean is that while climbing the ladder, you've to be really careful with each step and the ladder isn't 100% stable afterall (as in it will sway to a certain extent). So definitely spider climb is much easier and faster. Not to add that Nagano is great at spider climb. Look at how he does that in 1st stage in spider jump and back then in 17.

His Spider Walk is hilarious! It just never lets up, I was expecting him to be a little slower on his second stage 1 run, but nope he blasts through those walls even faster than before ;D

I was hoping he don't get beaten by metal spin like how Lee did. I pretty much missed sasuke from 18 to 22. My country only showed from sasuke 1 to 17, and it was like a weekly series. Not like what they do in Japan, making it a 3 hours thing and once off. So I don't really know if Nagano is still dogged by metal spin. I remembered he was well beaten by metal spin in a couple sasukes.

Nagano in the spider walk bit is ridiculous. It looks like he's just running along the walls.

Sasuke 22, Sj's rope breaking in his hand. For crying out loud, the rope didn't break. The sun whitewashed the video and made it look like it, and the tension of Nagano grabbing for a rope made it move. Repeat after me. The Slider Jump Cargo Net DID. NOT. BREAKAgain. The Slider Jump Cargo Net DID. NOT. BREAKOne last time. THE SLIDER JUMP CARGO NET DID NOT BREAK.Thank you. lol.

Nagano in the spider walk bit is ridiculous. It looks like he's just running along the walls. And it looks like Brian Orosco is following his foot steps. After seeing 23, Orosco is probably the second fastest person on the spider walk. From what I've seen anyway.

This time he was even faster on the spider walk. Did you see as SOON as he landed from the jumping spider he was already moving.
I was like.. hot damn.
That could've been a bad thing though, if he hadn't have actually stuck the landing and began moving forward as he did he could've of failed.
Nagano just has insane reaction time.
