some of us were at finals watching. pilgrim/g4 people were cool about it. recognized us as competitors and friends of finalists so they just had us sign NDA's and let us chill with them and watch the whole thing, though obviously i can't speak of the event itself.

also further notes on my failure at the warped wall:
i think i already made mention of how the light in my eyes and solid black of the wall messed with my vision and i couldnt find my footing. that was kind of the problem though, i was focused too much on looking at my footing and not up at the top. david was discussing it with me and said i shoudl just look at the wall as i run up, then look up to the top and your feet just sort of feel out the path, your body will follow where your head is pointed. this also lets you see when to reach up for the top. figured this would be useful advice for anyone wanting to attend future try outs so you don't repeat my slow and painful death.

Oh that's awesome you were able to watch. Damn, why didn't Blind go? He was our info leaker... lol.
Sucks that Ryan is out, he's always one of my favorites, hopefully Rus, David, and Travis make it.
Also Brian wouldn't be bad, Levi, Gabe, perhaps that finalist from Anc4, King, and AscentPK.
There's probably going to be a lot of people we don't recognize make it, and we won't really connect with them since there are 10 finalists this time and they won't ALL get a bunch of airtime, we probably won't see most of them again either.

Okay okay okay... So I was on facebook and today Ruselis perry (Blackie Chaaan) updated his status. Now don't freak out about this or anything but it says "Didn't do thaaat bad. lol. Can't say no more!" Coming from Ruselis, that definately sounds like he made it to Japan. AWESOME! I'm sure if he didn't make it, his update would've been more serious That's something Rus would say if he made it. I hope he did, he more than deserves it.

Hopefully someone will post the results anonymously. If not, we could be waiting a while.

Did anybody fail the first or third obstacles, that you saw? a few girls failed the first obstacle. no men that i can recall. no one failed the cylinder thing. it is supposed to spin on its own and be motorized but they did not implement that function. it spun as you stepped on it but very little. everyone just ran straight across it with ease.

I'm sure we'll get to see more of the unfamiliar faces as they build segments around them. Isn't ANW supposed to be a couple of episodes rather than bookends to Ninja Warrior 23?

I had assumed that ANW was supposed to be a multi-week series leading up to the Ninja Warrior airing. It would be a complete waste if they tacked it on to Ninja Fest 5. 5 hours of programming is long enough, 7 or 8 would be a disaster. This is the perfect opportunity to extend Ninja Warrior into an actual series. But then again, G4 likes to squander oppertunities.

I believe they said it is going to be a couple of episodes long, probably around 6 if not more since they have so much footage. Should be good.

If they put Ninjafest on the weekend, I would bet money that ANW airs during the week leading up.
It was nice of Pilgrim Films to allow the losers back.

What's the point of it lasting for a year...? If it airs in december? I mean... I don't understand honestly. They're afraid of you spoiling something 10 months after it's been aired?

Well, a year could mean a calendar year, ie only 2009, but I doubt that.
There may be verbiage in the contract that kills the NDA on air date and the "one year" is just in case the show gets shelved. I find this to be slightly more plausible, but from what I've heard, I don't think your average game show NDA has a sell-by date. In the wake of Hurricane Katrina, a couple of episodes of Price is Right got rescheduled because there were trips to New Orleans offered. I knew one of the contestants, and she had to keep it on the DL until it aired. At the very least, she got a nice shiny DVD of her episode.
If only I had Jeopardy champs on speed-dial.
