*edit*

round 2 is all 9 obstalces. after the first 6 are tarzan ropes, jumping bars (that look close enough to be able to monkey bar across, and apparently they are letting you be creative in terms of paths so im sure we will see free runners running across the top), and then final is that rope net climb. so last 3 arent hard at all. dont expect any failures there, just seeing if people have the stamina to continue through and keep the pace up.
top 15 tiems out of the 30 move on as finalists.
semi finals were supposed to take place today but did not. also semi finals and beyond are super secret squirrel and no one other than actual semi finalists can be there. though i am confused as to how they thought they could keep me away seeing as i am a ninja....and they are in a wide open parking lot surrounded by high vantage points.
semi finals will be tomorrow, then finals the followig day. finals will be, i believe, random strength oriented tests carried out on the beach. top 10 are chosen and flown to japan to enjoy a first class mud bath at japan's finest spa.
seeing as how g4 is trying to keep semi finals and finals secret, as silly as that may be, i will not give any spoilers from this point on.

my run: EPIIIIIICCCCCCCCC FAAAAAAAAAIIIIIIILLLLLLLL i failed on the warped wall of all things. very disappointing since i had one of the top times, or rather would have had i just gotten up the wall. i went back through my footage and marked out the times. i hit the platform after pipe slider at 29 sec mark. meaning all i had to do was drop and run up wall. based on the footage i was guessing it would have put me at 36 sec...... cept i stopped to tie my shoe i felt my shoe laces dangling about as i was goig across the pipe slider and thought...s*** thats going to be a problem for the wall. i felt like i was doing fine on time so instead of chance it i stopped and tied my shoe, then moved on. even after the shoe tie, had i made it up the wall, would have put me at 43 sec.......then even if i had made it up wall on 2nd try i still woudl have been at 52, plenty good enough to move on to finals. so yes, i stopped to tie my shoe, and still had neough time to get 2 or even 3 shots at the wall if i had hurried and still make it to semi finals. but that damn wall grabbed hold of my emotions and said no sir, you do not belong in japan. our mud is too good for you. obviously a lame way to end the run, and well, it just sucks. the sun was setting as i was one of last to go that day. the light was in my eyes and as i ran up to the wall (which is all black) it just sort of turned into a big 2D blob of black... i couldnt tell at all where the curve was. i just ended up face planting into the wall pretty much instead of runing up it. though brian O went right after me and got up it no prob...with a hang over no less, so i guess i just suck. regardless the whole event was really cool and worth going to. im sure they'll do this again. i must say though, for anyone aspiring to get to japan through one of these ANW events: train your arse off. the talent level was incredible. there were a whole mess of guys who just sailed through this thing in 45 sec or less. yes... a lot of them were pro free runners etc, but agree with that or not thats the game. they're only human, they just train more than most people. from what i have seen, david c is still the only person i geniunely believe will clear the entire course (sasuke). we'll see though, lot of great people in that top 30. whoever they send, i think the american team will have a field day with first half of sasuke. *EDIT* i meant to say david and his nephew travis

Hmm I'm going with moment of silence Anyway though it must have been pretty serious to delay production like that.. going to be expensive.. especially those who make it to the final but were planning to fly out on Wednesday night..

My... run.
As you know, my shoes refused to grip the walls halfway inside the Spider Walk.

Awesome attempt man. I know you're bummed about the shoes, but just think about all of the people you got further than (Like the cocky Ryoga).
Atleast you KNOW you can do it. You just had bad shoes that's all. Yeah it sucks but at least your training is showing some results.
I bet the warped wall would've been pretty easy for you to, and the pipe slider since you used to have one.

There's a rumor that the next ANW will take place here in December, but that's only a few months away. Dunno if I can save up by then.
Furthermore, I will be in Europe in December for my brothers Marching Band competition... so that means the next couple tournaments are possibly going to be difficult to attend.

December? Isn't that a little close? Unless G4 knows something we don't, wouldn't that be months before Sasuke 24?

the finals of this current ANW are taking place just 9 days before the winners will be flying out to japan for sasuke. i thikn the whole point is that they want to have more time in between so the winners are not sent out right after coming to cali. possibly so they can extend the anw show and get extra footage, maybe even go around and film winners at their home towns to see how they train etc. that part is just pure speculation on my part though.

Ryoga (atleast IMO) int cocky at all, i kno he could have beaten it with a great time, but he f***ed up, same thing happened to Aaron, he f***ed up. Why does everyone think I'm cocky? I never boast, I just like to have fun and don't take things so seriously. I'm entertaining, NOT cocky. If anything I'm humbled being in the presence of so many talented athletes that I aspire to be like some day. $#!+ Happens, I was worried about that rope swing for two days. After seeing so many great competitors fail, it got to my head. And we talked about it all day sunday, and right at the last moment every plan I had made vanished and I failed under pressure. But I'm ok with it. I saw it coming. Everything else was overly simple to me. I had done alot of training on upper body and was more than ready for the pipe sliders, the warped wall was shorter than I was anticipating. and the spider crawl was nothing new. had I made the rope swing I was looking at 47 - 55 seconds... though, that's all coulda woulda shoulda. Ohwell.. I did get a call from Showtime today. So, everything worked out ok, and I got a hot date out of being there.

I'm also one to know about over analyzing a challenge instead of just using intuition and getting it over with quickly.
