I've asked a few of the guys who were involved in the tournament this year, and none of them could give me a definitive answer...so I turn to you, the internet:
Has anyone heard whispers of whether or not we'll see another ASEAN Cup next year?

I don't know if this counts but Mike Bernardo told me this when I mentioned I wanted to see the stars in action. "It's probably possible. Apply for the next ASEAN Open Cup! They pretty much accepted everyone who applied to the individual comp on day 1. Just have to qualify in top 100 to compete, but the set was wide open. Anybody could walk up and hang out/take pics with the guys." It isn't proof but It seems that an ASRAN Cup for the next year is certainly possible. Honestly I don't think we know yet but it is a possibility.

I mean, obviously the thought is to have an ASEAN Cup 2015, and judging by the success of the 2014 edition (even if miniscule and 3 months late) I think that's still the plan, but I wouldn't book my ticket to Malaysia just yet.

Unless the political winds changed again I don't think there will be an ASEAN with the same team as the Malyasian team. Lotso stuff in the background with that fiasco from an organizational standpoint (which is also the reason why it's still not aired in Malaysia..). Right now all eyes are in Sasuke Vietnam for next year that are being conducted by a whole different team and not the ASEAN organization.

All the conversations I had with the TBS guys seemed to suggest that they are going to continue to try and expand the brand with international competitions. Plans can always change, but keep them ears open! It's lookin good!

I don't know too many specifics, but some little birdies told me that something Sasuke-ey may even be happening in Europe in the very very near future ;-)

Sucks we can't talk much about it until there is a confirmed airdate. As for anything with the ASEAN name.. I doubt it. The only other international in the area will be Vietnam next year and it's not with the same Malaysian team. Seems a few bridges were burned on that venture.
