The historical affect of just 1 or 2 new obstacles drastically affecting the clear rate.
Sasuke 2 had 34 clears- Sasuke 3 Added 2 new obstacles. Clears reduced to 13.
Sasuke 4 had 37 clears- Sasuke 5 added 2 new obstacles. Clears reduced to 3.
Sasuke 7 had 8 clears- Sasuke 8 added 2 new obstacles. Clears reduced to 4.
Sasuke 9 had 7 clears- Sasuke 10 added 1 new obstacle. Clears reduced to 5.
Sasuke 14 had 14 clears- Sasuke 15 added 1 new obstacle. Clears reduced to 7.
Sasuke 16 had 16 clears- Sasuke 17 added 2 new obstacles. Clears reduced to 11.
Sasuke 18 had 6 clears- Sasuke 19 added 2 new obstacles. Clears reduced to 2.
Sasuke 21 had 9 clears- Sasuke 22 added 2 new obstacles. Clears reduced to 5.
Sasuke 34 had 24 clears- Sasuke 35 added 1 new obstacle. Clears reduced to 8.
Anyway incase TBS sees this (LOL) changing just a couple obstacles can do a lot of damage and make for exiting television.

Anyway incase TBS sees this (LOL) changing just a couple obstacles can do a lot of damage and make for exiting television. It's not so clear cut as just looking at the obstacle change number vs clear rates. Sasuke 8 and 15 had lower clear rates due to bad weather conditions. 17's competitive field was a lot weaker than 16's due to numerous faces not competing. 19 had a 15-second reduction in time limit as well as numerous buffs to existing obstacles. 35's time limit was 40 seconds lower than 34's (yes I know it was a shorter course but still). I actually prefer these examples because having more competitors fail just due to 1 new obstacle that takes out majority of the field gets kind of boring, but having external factors like weather (as long as it's fair game for everyone like in 8 vs 39), lower time limit, buffed existing obstacles etc. diversifies the results a lot more. Inui has alluded to making changes to Stage 1 for the next tournament, and what we've seen from the World Cup (i.e. Wing Slider returns as 1.3) suggests that. There's also allegedly another change to Stage 1 but not sure what that is, probably some kind of modification. The problem is that he's always going to limit how difficult he makes Stage 1, and therefore the difficulty of new additions, because he doesn't want all his celebrity joke competitors to fail early, like at 1.1, and obviously wants Iwamoto etc. to reach the later stages, to drive ratings. This is why Stage 1 is easier now than it was in Shin-Sasuke, and I'd argue even compared to 35-37 because of the Silk Slider. So I'm concerned he's going to minorly buff Stage 1, but then increase the time limit by like 15 seconds unnecessarily to compensate, because that's what he's done almost every tournament since 35-36.

I really hope that the Wing Slider will return for the next SASUKE tournament.

I really hope that the Wing Slider will return for the next SASUKE tournament. It has to, if they used it for the World Cup (where it's confirmed to be returning as I've seen a photo), and then they bring back the f***ing Silk Slider, I'll honestly be baffled, and this is coming from someone who very rarely gets baffled with Inui anymore. Even with 39's "renewal" which comprised nothing but the Ni Ren and a nerfed log across the first two stages, I was like "yeah, I'm not surprised".

Is the world cup an official thing or a fan made course?

Is the world cup an official thing or a fan made course? No, it's official, it's the equivalent of USA vs the World but hosted by Japan. Not been officially announced but taped on 15-16 June. There was a leaked photo showing that the Wing Slider has returned. Information on this thread: sasukemaniac.proboards.com/thread/9951/japan-world-taping-on-june
