What are some Bait and Switch moments in Sasuke? Mine would be Takeda in 38, especially in the Paravi, where he cleared only to be DQed due to the Fish Bone. Can't imagine being happy and disappointed at the same time

Kawaguchi on the 2nd Stage in 35. He was struggling a lot on the backstream and he even went backwards. We've never seen anyone coming back and still clearing, but somehow he did and stumbled through the Conveyor and the walls, clearing with less than a second.

Yoshi in SK38.
Looking back, the lack of the cliffhanger clear theme playing probably gave it right away for some, but man seeing him make the transition only for him to slip and fall and the way it was edited was a really good bait and switch for me

-Jordan in 8, with probably the fastest Rope Climb attempt ever -Tomoyuki in 14, who timed out despite having 30 seconds left prior to the Rope Climb -Terek in 17, absolutely destroying the second half of Stage 2 -Takeda in 20 and Shingo in 21 -Mori in 36

A kinda different one: Tada's perception after 40. Instead of being seen as one of the main threats of Kanzening, he is instead lowkey written off due to his inability to improve much on the salmon ladder jugo dan after 37. Probably the first instance I've seen of a competitor who can consistently beat the cliffhanger and make it to stage 4 to be given this treatment.

Yeah 100% agree on this, I feel like there’s little basis for this argument as well but people still use it. People forget that Tada failing at the same point on 40’s Final as he did in 37 does count as progress, because the Speed Climbing is far more taxing on the upper body and slower to complete than the Spider Climb was. Tada’s also had a pretty interesting arc. Breaks out to Stage 3 in 36, beats nerfed Stage 3 in 37, 38 leaves people to believe he was “lucky” due to 37’s nerfs, he proved them wrong in 39 and makes the VL and performs the best, and in 40 beats the fully fledged Stage 3 fair and square thus further proving his capability/improvement. IMO, does he have a high chance of Kanzen? Probably not compared to a couple of other competitors, especially with a certain obstacle potentially causing him trouble down the line and the Final being as hard as it is. But you can’t deny he’s one of the most elite and talented competitors we’ve seen in years.
