Sasuke 26 is often considered to be the lowest point of Sasuke due to bad editing and poor results, especially for the Japanese. The tournament itself was mostly dominated by the Americans.
For this thread, I'm thinking of an even worse case scenario for 26.
-Okuyama times out on either Stage One or Two, given that he didn't clear with enough time
-Lee times out like Shingo and Kanno in 24
-Yuuji fails the Jumping Spider
-Paul Kasemir times out on Stage One
-Hashimoto becomes the final runner on Stage Two, if Okuyama times out on Stage One. He then fails the Metal Spin, like in real life.
In this time line, no Japanese or Asian competitor made it to Stage Three, making it the second occurrence in history, first in 20.
If you have any more ideas or suggestions, feel free to add some more

They refuse to fix the angle of the rolling escargot leading to more unfair fails like from Yamada or Hioki. The Roulette Cyclinder remains the same. Mr Octupus fails the step slider, Torisawa fails in a less comedic, more generic way, Naoki Iketani, Brian Orosco and Terukazu Ishikawa fail stage 1.

I still feel the results were more than sufficient for a good tournament, but it's fun to think about how bad it could have been so I'll list the changes I can think of:
Kasemir, Lee, Okuyama and Iketani all time out on the Rope Ladder (all of them finished with under 5 seconds)
When Brent Steffensen forgets to unhook the Tarzan Rope, it drags him down and his legs skim the water.
Morikami fails trying to immediately transition to the net on the Giant Swing rather than taking two swings.
Travis Furlanic, David Campbell and Brian Orosco all fail trying to do the Hazard Swing skip. (and not that it matters too much but so do Evan Dollard and Shane Daniels and Adam Truesdell loses his grip on the bar when he tries to one swing it meaning 6/10 Americans fail the Hazard Swing lol)
Yuuji immediately fails the Rolling Escargot, not getting the Rolling Escargot save, Jumping Spider save or goofy Half Pipe Attack fail.
Kishimoto, Ryo, Komiya, Cusic, Ishimaru, Miyazaki, Kanno, Kongu and Shingo fail the Jumping Spider instead of the Rolling Escargot (I know this is an improvement on their actual results but it removes the shock factor of seeing the Rolling Escargot take out so many stars from the previous tournaments as the Jumping Spider already was a killer in 19).
All of the aforementioned fails as well as Tajima, Hiromichi, Yamada and Nagano are all tainted as the Jumping Spider trampoline has issues this tourney.
As zoran said Mr. Octopus doesn't do well and Torisawa's fail isn't very comedic.
Only Ishikawa and Hashimoto clear, with Ishikawa failing the same as IRL and Hashimoto also failing the Double Salmon Ladder due to miscalculating the jump because of the reduced weight from the removed stoppers.

This would actually be kinda interesting, because 19 was the only other tournament to have no Stage 3, only 2 Stage 2 attempts, and 2 Salmon Ladder fails, and like this version of 26, would've been the second tournament after a Kanzen, with the first being considerably easier and the second introducing considerable buffs to Stage 1. I think given that 19 happened though, this version of 26 would be way more underwhelming/wouldn't have anywhere near the shock factor. It would certainly have some, specifically consistent competitors like Okuyama failing Stage 1, but many would just see it as a repeat of 19 that really, no one asked for, especially given that unlike 19 (Sending Climber notwithstanding as that was clearly a mistake), the new Stage 3 was already brutal enough for a renewal, so Stage 1 really didn't need to be as unforgiving in this case as it was.
