Who else do you think could have cleared the broken stage 2 we got in sasuke 29? I'm talking about the one with the unfair backstream and 90 second time limit. You can also mention any one else, even those who hasn't competed during and prior to sasuke 29. (eg Ragivaru).
However, if the answer is literally no one (which I'm expecting), then we can use the other easier but still harder version (one with the less powerful jets but the time limit was still a issue).

Actually, they upped the jets again after Kongu's clear IIRC, so both Asa and Kanno cleared with harder jets. That means that only Lee until Kongu attempted the stage with the easier jets, and only Yusuke and Kongu cleared in that space. Of the two Yusuke probably would've timed out with the harder jets since he only had 00.81 seconds left. Kongu had a little over 5 seconds left so he might've still made it with harder jets. |

They upped the jets but not to the same level that Shingo and Hashimoto had to face. I think what happened was that they were concerned that no one would clear the initial version, so decreased the jet strength, allowed Yusuke's clear due to the fear of no clears, and then we got Kong clearing which gave them more security of a not-so-s*** Stage 3, so increased it again, but to a lesser degree than initially which was deemed impossible with Shingo being a notably good swimmer yet having absolutely no shot. I'd say if Yoshiyuki was as capable as he is now (which is a possibility as he was captain of his university's gymnastics team at that time I believe), he could've probably cleared given his speed and raw strength, provided the jets weren't maximum strength. Yuuji and Keitaro were both rapid on the first part of the course, reaching the Backstream with like 50 seconds left, so there's a possibility that had the jets not been turned up, they could have cleared. Especially as a lot of Keitaro's Stage 2 fails were because he was mentally haunted by his first experience with the obstacle, which this obviously would've been. That said, they're both smaller competitors so they could very possibly get stuck under the walls in an attempt to rush, like Yuuji did in 30. |
