all the more the reason why takeda deserves #99 at the time, look at the amount of 3rd and 2nd place performances I'd say he definitely deserved #99 in 9, 16, and 22. In 9 he was the best performer out of any returning competitor from the prior tournament, he came in 1st place in 15, and in 2nd place in 21 only behind Nagano who wore #100 in 22. Also, in 9 and 16, Yamada in both cases had suffered two Stage 1 fails, but was still given #99. I can kinda see why they gave Miyazaki #99 in 22 because he was a pretty well known celebrity athlete, but yeah..... The producers seemed to have this weird aversion to giving Shingo and Takeda #99, with Shingo only getting the number in 32 for the whole Nagano retirement thing, and even then they digested his run.....
