What is your favorite All-Star performance that isn't in the Final Stage or Kanzen?
Akiyama-Sasuke 11 and 12
Nagano-Sasuke 27. Honorable mention to 9 for his breakout, 18 for making the Salmon Ladder look easy, 32 and 40 are also great runs, especially due to his age
Yamada-Sasuke 6 and 10
Bunpei-Sasuke 15 and 16
Takeda-Sasuke 17 and 23. Honorable mention to 5,15 and 24
Shingo-Sasuke 23. Honorable mention to 5,11, 29, and 40

Akiyama - 12: failed inches away from a second potential win, and this was arguably the only time since his win that he displayed his true athletic prowess. 11 was more emotional, but him clearing both Stages 1 and 2 with the slowest time and giving the worst Stage 3 performance somewhat soured it for me, as it came across as a "lucky" run. His run in 12 was better in every way, and vanquished the notion that his redemption in 11 was a fluke.
Nagano - 32: maybe a hot take as it was a Stage 1 fail, but I thought his "retirement" going out in the way that it did was incredibly dramatic and poetic. For those last few seconds where we was clambering up the Lumberjack Climb, you could see the old spark and speed that he was known for in his prime, which was incredibly endearing to see. Timing out just before clearing Stage 1 was way better a way to go out than another wall fail, or having to run Stage 3 in the rain.
Yamada - 10: his ability to beat a brutally hard Stage 1 that felled even Nagano and Takeda, and his infamous last stand on Stage 3.
Bunpei - 16: made the buffed Stage 3 seem like a cakewalk with his impeccable technique and training, and failed inches away from a lone Final Stage run, being the best performer that tournament.
Takeda - 17: his best shot at clearing yet, he seemed completely on fire and devoid of his upper body stamina issues that he was known for, until the Pipe Slider once again vanquished his dreams. His run in 24 was more frustrating for me, as with no Pipe Slider and his run in 23, he 100% had the capability to clear, so seeing him regress was more depressing than anything, especially after 5 straight clears from less experienced competitors.
Shingo - 40: this one needs no explanation..... legit cried when I watched it live.

Akiyama-first stage clear in 11. To clear with 0.03 seconds was absolutely amazing and to come back after a 5 tournonemnt first stage fail was so amazing to me.
Nagano-stage 3 run in sasuke 27. Was just great to see his last stand on stage 3.
Yamada- stage 3 run in 10. Once again, his last stand on stage 3 was great to watch, not to mention, he beat a hard first and second stage
Bunpei- sasuke 15. It is indeed so impressive to see bunpei do so well considering he had heat exhaustion
Takeda- stage 3 run in sasuke 24. A last stand, and this one was quite emotional. Still a fun watch.
Shingo: sasuke 40 first stage clear- no explanation for this, was so surprised to see him clear, absolutely amazing

Akiyama - 11, his 00.03 second clear was amazing and though he failed early on Stage 3, was still great. Every other time he's cleared barring 4, he either just failed Stage 2 or in the case of 12, IIRC his S2 and most of S3 were FFed anyway.
Nagano - Probably 9 cause of how he came out of basically nowhere, destroyed Stage 1, did admittedly have the slowest S2 time but not by too much, somehow managed to beat the CHK (seriously, watch his run, I have no clue how he held on) and his Pipe Slider technique was good until he just rushed the dismount.
Yamada - 10, but an honourable mention to 24, since that was the last moments Yamada seemed capable of having even a slight return to form. 10 though, can't overlook it. Only All-Star to clear, his roar after clearing S1, his close S2 clear, and his S3 fail and interview, all iconic moments.
Bunpei - 16, I really like when ninjas get creative with techniques and his Devil Balanco cheese was a perfect example of that (even though I am still salty Kōji ran before him lol)
Takeda - 21, 24 is too sad even for me and 5's a good shout but his S2 run was just over so fast. 21 was a great comeback for him and his SCH clear is one of my most rewatched moments.
Shingo - 40. Need I even give an explanation?
