For each tournament, I added up all the numbers that cleared Stage 2 and then I divided the total by the number of clears.
1.SASUKE 21: 295/3=98,33 2.SASUKE 5: 98/1=98 3.SASUKE 33: 486/5=97,2 4.SASUKE 18: 291/3=97 5.SASUKE 13: 484/5=96,8 6.SASUKE 6: 470/5=94 7.SASUKE 23: 657/7=93,85 8.SASUKE 35: 454/5=90,8 9.SASUKE 16: 725/8=90,625 10.SASUKE 24: 630/7=90 11.SASUKE 29: 359/4=89,75 12.SASUKE 20: 89/1=89 13.SASUKE 11: 620/7=88,57 14.SASUKE 17: 705/8=88,125 15.SASUKE 36: 876/10=87,6 16.SASUKE 14: 866/10=86,6 17.SASUKE 15: 513/6=85,5 18.SASUKE 26: 503/6=83,83 19.SASUKE 34: 749/9=83,22 20.SASUKE 31: 665/8=83,125 21.SASUKE 32: 660/8=82,5 22.SASUKE 9: 327/4=81,75 23.SASUKE 30: 730/9=81,11 24.SASUKE 12: 799/10=79,9 25.SASUKE 28: 235/3=78,33 26.SASUKE 38: 388/5=77,6 27.SASUKE 27: 771/10=77,1 28.SASUKE 8: 302/4=75,5 29.SASUKE 40: 878/12=73,16 30.SASUKE 37: 580/8=72,5 31.SASUKE 22: 289/4=72,25 32.SASUKE 7: 359/5=71,8 33.SASUKE 4: 774/11=70,36 34.SASUKE 1: 421/6=70,16 35.SASUKE 39: 617/9=68,55 36.SASUKE 2: 601/9=66,77 37.SASUKE 10: 255/4=63,75 38.SASUKE 25: 299/5=59,8 39.SASUKE 3: 315/6=52,5 40.SASUKE 19: N/A

Tbh not surprising at all, with 6 of the bottom 10 (excluding Sasuke 19) being in the first 10 tournaments where the numbering system wasn't well established, and at best only gave All-Stars the top spots in the 90s. Then there's Sasuke 25 which was a lottery, Sasuke 37 and 39 where the last few competitors were failed by rain, and Sasuke 22 which assigned a lot of the top spots to rando athletes.
I was initially surprised at how high 18 is on this list given that that was also a lottery, but they obviously somewhat rigged the numbering system (Nagano initially picked a number in the 50s or 60s but they gave him 96 instead, wouldn't be surprised if it was similar for Shunsuke as well).
13 also makes sense given that the trials determined the numbers for the tournament, and inevitably the top spots on the trials were going to do very well on the actual tournament.
5 and 6 were obviously early tournaments, though those tournaments' courses were so difficult that only the creme de la creme who, even back then, got given high numbers, were able to clear, while the slightly less well known Sasuke 1-4 regulars like Miura and Yoshizaki etc. who got lower numbers started to decline.
The rest of the top spots were mainly a combination of being a bloodbath tournament and adhering to the classic "better competitors get higher numbers", meaning only the true candidates to beat Stages 1 and 2 were all placed in the 90s. Specifically 21 and 35, and to a lesser degree 33 (the course wasn't too hard but a lot of veterans failed on Stage 1, while the Stage 2 field was quite weak bar #95-100).
Also, I hate to be a pedantic statistician, but the result for 19 is technically not 0, it's undefined as it's a case of [added numbers of all clears]/[number of clears] = 0/0 which is undefined.

Surprised of how 12 is low on the list, Koji Yamada really did havoc on the average with his #1 lol. And on the other hand 18 which is considered a lottery tournament has a very high position on the list.
I know that there weren't a propering numbering system early on, but the lineup order in 3 is absolutely nonsense, while in 25 is kinda weird that every number from 40 to 90 that finishes with 0 is worn either by an All-Star or a former finalist, it seems a rigged draw for me.

Yeah 3's lineup was weird, with only #99 and #100 carrying significance, and #99 was given to Akiyama who only got that number due to his Kinniku Banzuke performances. But then we also had Shingo getting #13 while Yoshizaki got #97, even though both failed at the same point in 2, and Tanaka getting #84 despite being the best performer in 2 lol. Yeah 25 gave every significant competitor a number ending with 9 or 0: #39 - Levi (initially) #40 - Kong #49 - Tajima #50 - Okuyama #59 - Yukio Iketani #60 - Hashimoto #69 - Orosco #70 - Takeda #79 - Rich King #80 - Lee #89 - Kanno #90 - Shingo I think with 25 they had a separate lottery for veterans compared to randos. It was a case of making sure they had clears spread throughout the field more than anything else, to avoid the risk of all of the strong performers getting low numbers which would leave most of the last half of Stage 1 being Dome Steps fails, lol. I didn't mind that to be fair, it was better than 18 where they flat out said "no you can't have that number" and pushed all of the stronger competitors to the 80s-90s. Which imo definitely defeated the point of a lottery, lol. Also with 25 they kept the last 3 numbers for the reigning champions to keep the theme of the last bit of Stage 1 being the most exciting, whereas in 18 they ended with a first obstacle fail that was all cut and a Pole Maze fail. I like the idea of spreading stronger competitors throughout the field, but still adhering to some structure like having the champions/most hyped competitors in the top spots. Kind of what they're doing with the more recent tournaments. It ensures that the last part of Stage 1 is still the most nail biting, without having to suffer for ages watching comedians failing early. That said, with how much screen time even a single celebrity gets in recent broadcasts, that issue isn't entirely circumvented. Especially in the 50s-60s which is where they tend to be jam packed with celebs.

Probably Sato deserved to appear instead of Yukio but the rest of the list is pratically all the top competitors at the time bar the Grand Champions.
