Finally I get to see Kishimoto's elusive Quad Steps fail in 33, lol.
I am interested as to the rationale behind determining the worst performances on obstacles like the Long Jump and Maruta Nobori, given that a bunch of people failed it each tournament so it must be quite difficult to pick THE worst/100th place performance. With the steps it's a lot easier as you can just determine at what step the competitor failed.

Seeing the RAMPAGE guy in 39 is pretty satisfying.

Seeing the RAMPAGE guy in 39 is pretty satisfying. Quite shocking as well given that he won the Pro Sportsman that year, which tbh I was not expecting at all. But yeah, even as someone who has defended the presence of celebrities on the show, I am somewhat glad that this fail clearly broke the camel's back in terms of RAMPAGE Exile no longer competing. They took up three spots, at best would fail the Dragon Glider if not earlier, and didn't seem really invested in doing well unlike Iwamoto etc. Even the producers kind of agreed given that they started digesting them in 38 and 39, lol. A lot of people give guys like Soshina and Seiya crap, but I'd 100% have them compete over RAMPAGE Exile, because they don't take up as many spots, are actually huge fans of the show, and are genuinely pretty funny on set. At the same time though I'm not from Japan, so I can't directly relate to the impact that having certain competitors on the show has on ratings, I can only go by my own sentiment towards the competitors as I see them.

Why does Wataru and Sakuma's fails in 34 and 35 look near identical in terms of how and where they failed...
EDIT: Also that guy from 36. Only real difference is how fast they failed.

The RAMPAGE guys are by far my least favourite celebs because they were given hoards of time screen and no one has came even close of beating Stage 1. At least Darvish and Snowman cleared Stage 1 sometimes and they are also by far more nice and dedicated than the RAMPAGEs. I'm so happy they disappeared after 39. This is a long shot: Soshina will clear Stage 1 sooner or later, if he trains aggressively on the Dragon Glider he has good chance to clear, given the fact he is tall and Warped Wall I think it's not a big issue for him. And Seiya, for God's sake, clear the Rolling Hill at least one time..

And Seiya, for God's sake, clear the Rolling Hill at least one time.. Honestly? I can see it. I mean Kyan Yutaka went from failing the first obstacle in 2 out of his 3 first tournaments to almost clearing in 39 and becoming an ambassador for the Japan parkour society (how he got that title, I have absolutely zero clue, but yeah....). If it was Shin-Sasuke's course I'd say no way in hell, but given the low difficulty of the entirety of Stage 1 bar the Dragon Glider, if he trains it, then nothing is out of the realm of possibility. It really just depends on whether he's willing to come out of his comic on-screen personality and actually take the show, at least competing, seriously. Because he's both a comedian and a Sasuke superfan, so it could go either way. Either he's too busy to train, which is a viable possibility given his job, or he doesn't train on purpose for the sake of delivering a funny fail, though even then that's been more Seiya's role. Soshina's generally done quite well. Seiya is clearly more of the "more comical, fails early" type, though at least he somewhat tries unlike Kasuga who obviously fails on purpose. That said, I can't say anything bad about him, because fyi he was a major reason as to Akiyama returning for 40, obviously with Seiya impersonating him. And I thought the impersonation joke would have got old now, but it's still always hilarious. I wouldn't go as far to say the EXILE guys weren't "nice", but they didn't have a whole lot of on-screen personality, don't train regularly for the show, provided very repetitive and uninspiring results, and again take up three slots. I get that they're famous, but clearly even the producers realised there was more value in saving those three slots for more athletic celebrities, comedians for more comic relief on Stage 1, both of which would also drive ratings but be more exciting to watch, or trialists/rookies who could do well.

Also, what the heck is happened to Mori? A very decent competitor who completely vanished after 37, he could have easily cleared the First Stage each time and maybe the Second Stage sometimes, and on the Third Stage I gonna say Cliffhanger as a best result.

Why am I not surprised most of them were from Aoki? Anyway, my favorite one has to be Pants Guy in 19

He either keeps getting rejected during celeb applications, or injured like during SASUKE 40. Which is kind of sad because his last appearance showed that he can still clear Stage 1, rather unfortunate he gets rejected, and in place is a joke competitor that won't do well.

Yep, they're more famous than Mori. Sad that Mori can't catch a break, but there's always hope for him to come back in 42, albeit small.

Is there anything to confirm that Mori did indeed get rejected from the recent Sasuke tournaments? I heard he had COVID around Sasuke 39 time, and obviously had injured himself prior to 40. No idea about 38, but I've not heard that he applied and got rejected.
I'm doubtful given that if Iketani, who's not as overall famous and objectively a worse Sasuke competitor currently, could get invited back a couple of times, then Mori would've consistently got rejected over the last four or so years. He's really well known in Japan, and also came close to reaching Stage 3 a couple of times, he possibly would've done so by now if he kept competing.
He actually trained Saikawa before his debut, and Saikawa keeps getting invited back, despite not being as famous, and also not having cleared Stage 2 as of yet.

I was probably misremembering if he was rejected, my bad. I still don't know why he didn't compete in 38 & 41 however, could be scheduling issues? Reason why is because I'm just guessing the reason why. Apologies to everyone who thought otherwise. But I've checked his Instagram, nothing (because I'm lazy), indicates as far as I'm aware he got rejected or was sick. Family time maybe?

No need to apologise, I was simply asking whether there was anything to confirm that he did indeed get rejected, as I too have wondered as to the reason for his absence for the past several years. Mainly because if he did that would be ridiculous given the fact he fits the bill as both a celebrity and someone who could genuinely do pretty well. I doubt it would be family time given that he was still competing when he had his kid, which would have been the most intensive period for him. I'd assume probably scheduling issues, as he did compete on Pro Sportsman and has clearly been busy as seen from his Instagram. He even has a mini-Sasuke course in his "Forestic Park" gym. So he's clearly still interested in competing, I'd assume scheduling issues most likely. I don't want to believe that Inui would actually reject someone like him unless I see it.

Does make sense if it's scheduling issues come to think of it, given that he has a literal mini-SASUKE course in his own gym. Unsure what project he was busy with in 38 and/or 41, but I guess that's the case. I was guessing he got rejected, but it's highly unlikely now that I think of it.
