Kenji Takahashi had sporadic appearance from 5~7 (first 2 appearance was all cut) and 16, before he become regular from 18~35 (minus 28). I'm curious how he would have done in 8~15 and 17 (didn't put 28, since it would have been same result as 29 and 31)? Would he gone to Final Stage during those time?
Here's my take. I think he could have good chance going to Final in 11 and/or 12; personally, latter would fit the most, due to high number of competitors attempted Pipe Slider (5) and 3 went to Final. I can't see him failing 2nd Stage, due to the setting and his track record; only time he failed (30) was faulty/broken obstacle.
As for 17, I can seem him clearing Cliffhanger, only to fail at Pipe Slider; though, it's possible that he could have made it Final.
It all depend on how he good at Pipe Slider, where he NEVER attempted.

8: Due to the heavy rain, Kongu struggled like many on the Warped Wall and he timed out here 9: He cleared the first two stages with ease but the new Third Stage will be too much for him, as he failed roughly halfway the Lamp Grasper 10: He shockingly failed the Jump Hang, similarly to All-Stars Takeda and Nagano 11: He once again returned to the Third Stage after setting a record time in Stage Two. He ultimately failed the third transition on the Cliffhanger Kai, just like Shingo 12: He took his revenge on the Cliffhanger Kai but he failed the jump on the Pipe Slider, narrowly missing his first Final Stage attempt 13: Kongu's dream become true as he reached the Final Stage; here he timed out 1,5 meters before the goal 14: He failed the 4th jump on the Jumping Bars, little better than Nagano 15: Because of the heat, he will suffer the same fate of SASUKE 8, timing out on the wall 17: He fell victim of the OP jump on the Pipe Slider, just like Takeda

In 15, I could see him failing the Cliffhanger as an absolute max, if he clears the first stage given his speed

By that time, he was already out of his prime, and it was his penultimate tournament. I can't see him failing 2nd Stage in 8~15, unless he slips up on Metal Spin (15 and 17), which could have been possible.

For some reason I just see him struggling with the Pipe Slider, given that he's not the most dainty competitor and did fail the much easier Gliding Ring. It's also worth bearing in mind that he was never the most consistent competitor, where one Stage 1 fail would often be followed by 2 or 3 others, then he'd have a streak of doing well, and repeat. It's obvs hard to say whether this would be the case in the Golden Era as his longest fail streak was 19-22 which had a brutal Stage 1, and he did clear in 16 after a 5-year hiatus (though that was probably one of the era's easiest courses), but yeah just worth considering. I'd also add that his performance in 16 would've likely been better if he had competed regularly beforehand, as the way he did fail in real life isn't really in line with the hypothesised results shown here. I'd maybe go with Devil Balanco or Pipe Slider, definitely not Final because of that freaking jump..... I'd also have been interested to see whether, and if so, at what point he'd have been made an All-Star had he competed regularly. He fits the bill so well; not a pro athlete, has a unique job, has a very striking personality and outfit, etc. etc. I'd definitely say if he had made the Final during the Golden Era he would've been made one. That said, Asaoka made the Final in 12 and didn't, though that was probs due to his hiatus after.

I have a feeling that Kongu reaches the final stage in 13, because after coming closer and closer to passing the Third Stage tournament after tournament, I think that in 13 would have been his big chance since Curtain Cling is easier than Lamp Grasper and after failing the Pipe Slider he would have trained hard and considering that the jump in 13 was still not very difficult, I believe he would have managed to overcome it. As regards the last two performances, assuming that he would have achieved the results I predicted, I would have seen him fail late in the third stage in 16, and perhaps reach the final stage again in 17, even if I see it as tough. (I made the predictions don't thinking about his SSK 16 result sorry) The first stage of the golden era is definitely easier than that of the Shin Sasuke and I don't see Kongu running into too many debacles, the only surprise defeat would be in 10 considering how the Jump Hang was more difficult in that tournament

Curtain Cling has been failed by 3 competitors while the globe grasp has been failed by 2 (Takeda in 9 almost completed it while Nakata had no chance on stage 3).
