Just curious to see how people rank Sasuke among their favorite TV shows.
I haven't given it too much thought, but I think I'd have to rank Sasuke in my top 5. It's probably my favorite show at the moment, but that's partly because I don't watch much TV. This might be a harder question for those who watch a lot of TV. I know it would have been much harder for me 10 years ago, when I watched all kinds of stuff. At the moment, though, I've outgrown a lot of my old favorites, and what's left is... Sasuke.

It's my favorite entertainment/game show for sure.
I'd say my overall favorite show is probably Curb Your Enthusiasm, but it's so different (dry and dark humour) that it's probably too hard to compare the two. But Sasuke is 100% in my Top 3 for no other reason that no matter how my opinions and likes/dislikes change, I always have time for Sasuke, whereas other shows that have been previously in my top few I'm not really interested in anymore and have moved on to other things. Most other game shows I was into were too kiddy, while more narrative driven and complex series I wouldn't have really understood as a kid.
Imo part of the reason is that Sasuke can be enjoyed by people of all ages. When you're young you see these guys as almost supermen and women that you admire and look up to, when you're older you can appreciate a lot of their backstories and their training/commitment to the show, as well as being able to analyse the course and competitor list etc. a lot more intricately.
Overall I think beyond how great Sasuke is for a number of reasons, because it can be enjoyed by those of all ages that's why it's in my top few shows, because it facilitates the ability to enjoy it over a long period of time.

I really don't watch too much TV, as I'm more of a music person. That being said, it's is my 3rd favorite show behind Big Brother (U.S.), and iCarly.
The thing with SASUKE is that it's mostly family friendly, and like what dakohosu said, anyone can enjoy it. You can see your favorite competitors kick a** on the course, and your maybe favorite Japanese celebrity compete as well. SASUKE is great.
Why I put it as my 3rd favorite show however is that Big Brother is fun when there are Live Feeds 24/7, and iCarly because of spaghetti tacos (search it up if you want).
Still, SASUKE is great.

Well, in sport TV shows, it better than The demon Taiji and Battle for money. The only weakness is it too long. 4 to 6 hours are tough for audiences. Besides, SASUKE is one of the few TV shows in Japan that can keep on air for more than 15 years. My favourite will be Run for money(it keep coming out for 19 years), which is around 2 to 3 hours normally. There might be few 4 hours shows. And one more good news is it not like SASUKE for once a year, it had about 3 to 4 times each year since 2008, even have 6 times in 2012? I think. But there's also unlucky years like 2016 And 2017. However SASUKE is definitely great. It have more people, more competitors, And more complicate.

It's one of them. Generally I'm more of a cartoon anime guy but SASUKE is an exception. I love it and have had fun with it since I was 13 (I'm now 26).

It's my favorite show ever, no question about it. I've shown more interest and dedication to it than not only any other show, but any form of media/entertainment in general (the Super Smash Bros. series of video games is the only other form of media which even comes close, and that is far and away a solid second).

Top ten for sure. Just remembered that it was really around 2008 or 2009 when I was discovering G4 first impressed by S20 and Levi being the last one standing

Indeed and I suppose it was because of Nagano and Levi's bromance as well as being the second tournament in a row that had no Japanese competitors and instead one American.

I will admit SASUKE has slipped a bit since it's hard to catch it at times, that and how rare it's on but it's no doubt in my top 5 MAYBE easily top 3. I don't really HAVE a favorite show but Thomas and Friends is making a HUGE comeback for me.

It used to be but its become stale, American Ninja warrior was better until the weirdness of season 15-16. They need to revamp SASUKE

Sasuke is my #1 favorite show of all time. It's more than a show, and more than a sports show/game show, it's a special type of bond between the competitors and the viewers that doesn't happen that often when it comes out for a new competition, but when it happens, it's a special unforgettable time that we truly appreciate and are always grateful for.
I've first came across Sasuke on G4 with Sasuke 17, seeing my top favorite competitor of all time, Makoto Nagano, achieve kanzenseiha, and just admiring him for being only the second champion ever. My first new competition seeing on G4 was Sasuke 18, and seeing Nagano on a slanted bar on the Salmon Ladder and seeing him correct it upwards on the top level, that was so cool to see, and seeing him get back to stage 3 was remarkable.
Seeing some of my childhood favorite competitors still compete to this day, even if they've got no chance at making it far, I put that aside, and I just cherish the time they got on the course. Seeing Kazuhiko Akiyama back in Sasuke 40, alongside with Shingo Yamamoto, and Makoto Nagano (he almost became the first 50+ to clear stage 1 in Sasuke 40), that brought back nostalgia, and I was honored to see them compete again (I know Shingo Yamamoto has competed in every tournament, and he's still got it on stage one, as proven in Sasuke 40).

If this is the SASUKE World Cup, then what would the "SASUKE Olympics" be?

My favorite show. Like loboticaltree, I also wouldn't classify myself as a big tv guy, or even movie guy as well personally. I'm more of a music fan myself as well. Though I do enjoy getting into a lot of franchises that all my friends enjoy.
Still, it's just the whole reality aspect of SASUKE, in which anything can happen. Other factors I like are the iconic competitors, the crazy obstacles, the symbolic tournaments, and even the falling-into-water factor that I like. And I do enjoy some other reality shows as well when I take a look at them.
The thing is, I always grew up watching SASUKE--well, Ninja Warrior on G4 of course. I stumbled upon the channel one day, around 2007 I think, and I believe it was during SASUKE 7 Stage 2. I forget who was running though--it was either Shingo, Kongu, or Kane. I'm not really sure. Either way, my curiosity led to my passion for SASUKE ever since. That was probably the benchmark of my taste in reality shows as a whole.

For me, nothing will ever top The Amazing World Of Gumball, that show along with Gravity Falls was my entire childhood. But SASUKE is definitely 2/3, it's played a big impact on my life actually. Sure, I didn't watch it for like, 5 years, but when I got back into it, I started training, getting in better shape physically and mentally from it, and overall, SASUKE's done a lot for me in these recent years.
As for how I discovered SASUKE, well, I was a bored 4-year-old at my uncle's house, (I think for Thanksgiving but I can't remember) and I was sitting in this rocking chair while looking at the smallest TV in history, just flipping through the channels to find anything that looked entertaining to my pea-sized brain. That's when I saw the G4 broadcast of 19, and not only that, but Mr. Kōji Yamada himself, on the Salmon Ladder. So, there you have it, sort of an origin story I guess lol.
