There has been no information on ANYTHING that we know of. Once SOMEONE has found something we'll all be notified. So in the mean time.......why not make fun of G4's faults Passes the time by on here........SLOWLY but I digress.

G4's not that bad come on. I think it's probably hard to get anything creative done in a television network. Just imagine if NBC or some huge network were running ANC and airing NW. We would have absolutely no info on anything andthe episodes would be hacked up beyond any recognition. And it would probably be dubbed like MXC! Most of the staff and crew I dealt with really seem to like and respect the show .....but you know it's a business. You want to know what Ninja Warrior would look like on NBC? See Wipeout.

I Saw Wipeout once on a network here in Taiwan, and I have to say I'll never watch it again.

LOL having seen how JET TV does in Taiwan and *gasp* TBS does it naturally every single time for I don't know.. 12 years.. It's a poor excuse to blame it on lack of creativity.. wait.. no.. you are correct. American Network TV and 3rd rate Cable companies lack the inspiration, the knowhow and the passion to actually bring a hugely successful show to the American Masses who actually DO have a high attention span. Having worked in TV I can tell you that I've met a LOT of really really nice people who have absolutely no control over the show they work for. I blame corporate and that President they have who constantly treats their audience like idiots. If he allowed those same passionate people to actually produce the show without his guidelines we'd have the JET TV-type version here in the USA.

The JET version amazes me, it seems more like a fansub than something on a major TV station. It'd never fly on anything more than a hopelessly indie network with a completely niche viewership in the US or UK. It's great for purists but... that's about it.

But at the same time, it doesn't try to be good either. In fact, it seems to go out of it's way to make us mad. Sure, alot of us piss and whine about what goes on, but that's out of frustration at the people at the top of the corporate ladder. As Arsenette said, I'm sure you met alot of people who are actually passionate about doing things right by the show and the fans. And as she stated, it's the people at the top who just don't get it. No matter how much the network relies on sponsers, its the fans that keep the show alive (see CBS's Jericho for reference). Without fans, a show (or network for that matter) dies. So the hate isn't for those making the show happen, it's at those running the show as they see fit, which is really just the opposite of what the fans want. Well, the hardcore fans anyways.

You want to know what Ninja Warrior would look like on NBC? See Wipeout. I say no to that, too, because Wipeout is successful for ABC. On NBC, it'd be three episodes and canceled. G4 is only part of the problem. The other problem is that the audience of males 18-34 who think that college is one big NeverNeverLand of pot, booze, sex, and video games doesn't just exist, but demands to be coddled by programming like the ones G4 offers. It's a safe haven where regular society won't condemn them for not getting in line or having non-mainstream tastes. Like I said in my VGL review, G4 could attempt to be a "professional" media outlet and treat their audience like self-respecting adults, but they don't have to because their audience doesn't want to. This is a major tangent from everything, but I honestly think that my generation will grow up being the generation the most disenfranchised from everything due to the paradox of choice and an overall lack of responsibility. It won't be the end of the world, though.

Come on guys... Off topic... Has anyone heard any news on Sasuke's date, or something? My mind is dry, begging for date information... of ANY kind... I'm guessing that they haven't actually determined a due date yet. Or an air date. Or any sort of date. I'm pretty sure that once more information arises, it will appear on this forum pretty quickly. For now, I recommend continuing to work on your videos, who knows how much advanced noticed G4 will give this time.

The JET TV version is just the TBS version with Chinese subtitles. No gimmicks or nonsense just the original program with ST- and it works. But here in Taiwan, anything Japanese seems to be popular especially with the youth. I show my grade 3 students Sasuke once in a while and they love it. Many of them watch it at home on the weekends and they know Nagano's name in Chinese although I forget what it is. JET has also been showing Muscle Ranking for many years now and it's still on every week along with other TBS specials. Anyways, change is not always better...

Has anybody else seen the comment that Ryan Stratus made over on the G4 forums? Here's the link: forums.g4tv.com/showpost.php?p=2230103&postcount=29For those that don't want to click on the link, here's what he (Stratus, not me) says: "Well good news from the webmaster. According to them, the ten people that are selected by the casting crew will go straight to Japan. No other eliminations, no other trials like ANC 2, just straight to it. Which is awesome. So lets hope that true!" I must say that while that does sound promising, it seems a little too good to be true. Considering the rumour that Kevin Pereira is also going, I find it hard to believe that G4 would be given 11 spots on Sasuke. Maybe the 10 selected will go to the Sasuke trials instead? I'm guessing the webmaster may be mistaken, but we'll wait and see!

I'm not sure what to believe. I do also find it strange that they are giving them like 15 spots (If Kevin and Levi and whoever from the past ANC's).. unless they aren't bringing back people? Or.. it's a gimmick saying that there are 10 but they INCLUDE the other guys that are going.
Big epic fail if there is no competition. Again. I mean wtf. As for 10 going to Sasuke Trials I highly doubt that for one reason only. If they lose.. no one goes from the USA to Sasuke 23. They have never made provisions concerning other countries in the Japanese Trials (to exempt people even if they were beat out by other contestants). I doubt M9 would be that harsh.

I can't see that they'd ever have 10% (or more) of the entire competitor pool for a tournament, but all of the wording so far seems to suggest that. We shall see...

I think it will be a trial but not with the Japanese competitors. They may even use the same course if it's possible.
If it is that, then it's G4 blatantly trying to copy the genuine emotion generated by the STQers at the end of 22.
I'm not saying that the people going will be displaying fake emotion but that rather, they're being set-up to look like the STQers.
And now the ANMDMC is becoming more and more like I Survived a Japanese Game Show, especially if they devote time to filming the contestants experiencing "wacky" Japan.

Which means less and less of the original Sasuke for us to watch and enjoy.. wait.. if it's a show by itself then that's different. They BETTER not be allowed to practice on the Sasuke course itself. Use the same trial set if need be but I'll have a cow if they use the Sasuke set.

Well, I doubt TBS will focus much time on the ANMDMC competitors since they have the All-Stars, the STQers, comedians, athletes and whatnot to focus on. G4 is another matter entirely.

I'm just going to make an outrageous guess, so if I'm right, I can say that I called it. Here's my prediction:
Sasuke 23 will have 200 competitors and will be a two night event. 100 will come from Japan, and 100 will come from other countries such as US, China, Taiwan, UK, Australia, Greece....um Canada. That's why G4 will be sending so many people this time around. The US has 18 spots. Ten new guys, Colin, Bret, Brian, Levi, Mark, Luci, David and Kevin.
And that's my guess. It may sound too extreme, but it still works with the information that was given.

Okay, okay....
In reality, I feel that it's highly unlikely that G4 will be sending 10 guys, so I believe that the webmaster is mistaken. If they are sending 10 guys, then it should mean that no one gets a freebie (including Levi) and many people would have to apply for those 10 spots in a competition.
In all seriousness though, I do partially believe my outrageous theory. I just have this feeling that we are in for a big surprise this time around.

Logistically there is no way the competition is more than 100 people.. as it is .. on a good day it finishes at friggin' 2 am on a work night.
