Ryoga just posted on the G4 forums - he got an email on the actual submission date for the videos (Cutting to the line specifically) We will be accepting videos through August 9th and the open casting will be held somewhere near Los Angeles in late August/early September. We'll email you more information as we lock it down, or keep an eye on g4tv.com/americanninja for updates.

In otherwords, they still do't know what exactly what they are doing. I don't see that as anything new, much less an update

Bravo G4: "Check back on this page often for updates on the upcoming American Ninja Warrior Tryouts! The submission period for G4's American Ninja Challenge is closed. Voting will start August 7th." upload.g4tv.com/ninjawarrior/americanninja.html

WTF, they closed the submission period upload.g4tv.com/ninjawarrior/americanninja.html"The submission period for G4's American Ninja Challenge is closed. Voting will start August 7th." Also, the page says ANW, but this says ANC. Another flub by G4?

Whatever that was, it's no longer there. Back to the August 9th deadline.
EDIT: I suspect it was something from an old ANC cropping up, the pages have never been coded very well. They had the results from ANC1 up there for years, in fact they're still there somewhere.

Yeah that would have been a HUGE epic fail.. I'm sure they got hate mail.. hell.. I know for a fact David C. hasn't even finished his video yet.. and he's their returning ANC winner..
P.S. They STILL don't have the rules up.. it's still a dead link to G4tv.com

I wonder how likely I can make it as a web page editor with all my HTML coding experience involving Microsoft Frontpage.
/Don't knock it. It gets the job done.

I'm utterly speechless. I feel bad for the people who put so much time into making their videos and training to get a chance to go to Japan. G4 is one BIG cluster****!!!!

Well G4 had a commercial for it.. They specifically said their LA casting call was to find 10 to train and then compete

Okay, I hope this is the right place to post this... I didn't see this anywhere else on here, but if it is, I'm sorry. Anyway, onto my point. I don't know if any of you are friends with Brett (Sims) on Facebook, but apparently he's flying out to LA for the open casting call? Here's a link, hopefully the link works: m.facebook.com/event.php?r79a10737&eid=139865089114&refid=7Just thought you guys might want to know this? (Sorry if this is annoying/offensive or whatnot.)

Ya know, I was always one of those crusty old farts who didn't think the whole ANC business added anything to Sasuke, especially the half-assed way G4 ran the ANC's, with rules and selection procedures being of the PIDOOMA* method from one year to the next. Indeed, ANC often seemed contrary to the spirit of Sasuke.
Something's different this time. I've been lurking at the G4 boards, and a community of sorts has developed among many of the hopefuls. The well-known (to us, at least) and the lesser-known have really bonded and the support among them is wonderful to see. That, my friends, is what Sasuke's all about. Good luck to all of 'em, especially Strat and Chris, who seem to be providing much of the leadership.

* Pulled It Directly Out Of My a** LOL that's awesome And yes that's what I thought G4 has been doing for a while now Glad they have Pilgrim on board now. So far it does seem very different and I hope the camaraderie of the event helps since they know they are unfortunately at the mercy of casting directors.

I steadfastly believe that the success of Urushihara and Kanno (and by proxy UNCLI and the STQers as a whole) made G4 (and their viewers) realize that they need to throw this out to as many people as possible because you simply never know where the best stories are going to come from. Which is something they should have already known because the "wow, these random people we gave a chance to have become our money-makers" trope (AKA the All-Stars) has been in place for a long long time.

I agree 100%! But I also think they need their established participants (all-stars or not). I have been following SASUKE for several years now and have following the progress of many individuals who I hope to see again. Not just Nagano, Takeda etc. but also the likes of Shinji, Kenji, Nagasaski brothers etc. I think a combination of new faces/qualifiers and previous "stars" is a must.
