Short of building your own, How would you train for the Log Grip? Hanging onto a Punching Bag is good but it doesn't have the drops, and having someone else lift it to make it a drop doesn't work so how do you train for it?

I'd say just train your grip strength in general. And, maybe train your leg strength as well, because it seems to help when you squeeze the log with your legs. I don't think that there's really any perfect way to train for it though.

i guess maybe buy a punching bag then make a few drops I have a Punching Bag and can't make the drops, which is why I made this topic. And that link isn't working Scnoi. Link works fine for me, try again.

Why can't you do the drops?
You don't have any friends strong enough to hold it? lol
Seroiusly, just hold onto your punching bag as long as you can.
If you are able to hold on for along time, it'll build your strength in those areas, so when you do the drops on the real course it'll be no problem.
See if you can hold on for a minute.
Then try it another time for 3 minutes.
Then 5.
And after a while to tackle 10 minutes.

I don't have anyone to do the drops for me, besides, I usually train alone anyways. thats why I want to find out how to make the drops. Hmm, maybe I should try the long period of time hanging. Maybe if I hang for half an hour that makes it too easy on the course.

I believe the key to that obstacle is to not take it lightly. Hold on as tight as you can and think of nothing else besides squezing that log.

Yeah, most people ont he log grip don't realiz that the drop will make it shake insanely, just holding on won't do it.
You ahve to over-exert yourself.
Don't just hold on, you have to grip that log. (Not sexual Innuendo)
I'm sure I could do the log grip, I have insanely strong legs, and i'm working on my grip strength a lot.
I know the trick to the obstacle since I'm actually a fan of the show, I'm sure that helps.

Yeah, I want to make sure that when I hit the course some day that I'll be prepared for everything, even if the Log Grip isn't there then, still, practice the course as it is and work your way up as it works its way up.

i think you can easily prepare for the 3rd and parts of the 2nd and final stage. First stage has always frighted me because of obstacles like that. There is more to it than strength and endurance.

Those are easy to practice, its these ones hard to practice.
Besides that the Log Grip looks like fun which is one of the reasons I want to learn to practice it. Although now I gotta figure how to practice the Pole Maze.
