A good portion of us claim the obstacles on the 3rd Stage are too easy for a Shin-Sasuke course. So you hope the change them, or make them harder in some way. But how would you react if they time the third stage, like how they did for Kunoichi 3, 4, and part of 5.

I agree that they should never time it, but instead just make harder obstacles. But in contrast, what I would rather see, is a solidified :30 second timer, but that would for natural reasons, not be shown on TV.

The addition of a timer on the 3rd stage wouldn't work as the contestants are already tired out from having to run through the second stage. The difference from first to second is the amount of people that participate in the stage, which is quite a drastic change in number. But it's designed that way. So the wait is shorter, thus recovery time is shorter. I'm sure you could argue that for the 3rd to 4th stage transition, but the 4th stage is where the money is.

A timed 3rd stage wouldn't work. Like madmanike said, the contestants would be tired. And plus, Nagano would time out so easily!

The only way this could work is if they had a different timer for each obstacle.
You have 15 seconds to do the Cliff Hanger, then 30 seconds to rest, 15 seconds on the Jumping Bars, 25 seconds on the Ascending Climb...
I don't like it.

No way. Leave it the way it has always been.

I would think that the reason Kunoichi's 3rd stage was timed was because it was an overly-complicated foot race. In Sasuke's 3rd stage, feet are irrelevant and putting an emphasis on speed would defeat its current purpose.

Timer? no.
Though I do think the new stage 3 isn't much harder (if harder at all) than the old stage 3, while stage 1 and 2 got a huge difficulty boost.
I mean, compare 22's stage 3 to 14-15 (Whichever one had the rumbling dice, body prop, more jumping bars than usual, etc...)
I actually think that version of stage 3 was harder than the current version.
It had the body prop, rumbling dice, more jumping bars, and the pipe slider.

If they'd use a timer, they should use it for the breaks inbetween each obstacle. Don't time the obstacle, but keep the competitors from taking 5 minutes between each obstacle.

It's funny that the new 1st stage is almost as difficult as the 3rd stage. Some may argue even more so.

No way!! Not only because the contestants would be tired, but also because third stage was created to test their strenght, not their speed. I agree with those who said that 1st and 2nd stage had a great difficulty increase, but I think they shouldn't increase the 3rd stage's difficulty for now. People would get bored to see contestants getting pwned on the 2nd obstacle...I would (and, also, I want to see Nagano champion twice =P)

Chances are... it is MUCH harder then it appears.

Nagano hung there with his eyes closed and trying to regain what he had left in strength.. People watched in shock as to how long he stayed there.. If they were deprived of being able to recenter themselves and continue on.. I think it would be devastating.

Indeed. Like I said, he'd time out easily.

Well now my point was proved, some of you may think the obstacles seem easy, but you would flip if something as insane as a time limit was implemented.
See, you do care!

Well now my point was proved, some of you may think the obstacles seem easy, but you would flip if something as insane as a time limit was implemented. I don't think I was in the camp in the first place, but your solution was not in diametric opposition with the problem, i.e. there are other (better) ways to make the course harder than slapping a clock on it. I think most of the arguments that claim the 3rd is easier than the 1st range from "highly speculative" to "asinine". You'll never be able to truly tell, but at least from a conceptual standpoint, the 1st Stage goes first for a reason. Whether that's still because of the difficulty is hard to say.

Just saying, the third stage didn't get much of a difficulty increase, if any.
the 14th or 15th tourney seemed harder to me.
Rumbling Dice > Arm Rings
Body Prop > Descending Globe Grasp
Curtain Cling > Devil Steps
Shin cliff-hanger > cliff-hanger
Old Jumping Bars > New Jumping Bars
Ascending Climb > Climbing bars
Spider Flip > nothing, 1 less obstacle in old stage 3.
Pipe Slider > Final Ring
New stage 3 aint all that.
