REPOST I accidentally posted this in General Sasuke so it's now deleted and moved here.
So I've noticed that in addition to showing the highlights for every tournament, the TBS YouTube channel has also started a series showing the runs of everyone who wore the top number on an anniversary tournament (e.g. #1000, #2000, #3000). They released Yamada's Sasuke 10 run five days ago as of writing this as he wore 1000, while they released Nagano's run wearing #2000 in Sasuke 20 today. My hunch is that they're using this as an opportunity to segue into the number reveal for 40 (and specifically who will be wearing #4000, as if that wasn't obvious anyway, though I wish it would be Shingo in his 40th appearance). As a result, we could potentially see numbers being revealed as early as next week, as they're likely going to do a piece on Yusuke's #3000 run either end of this or start of next week if the last two's timings are anything to go by. It's kind of annoying how they're making us wait given that 35-37's lineups were revealed instantly and 38-39 we only had to wait because the tournament was filmed in secret, but what can you do. A mid-November reveal would also be consistent with the reveal dates of the last few tournaments.
In terms of when we can actually expect the tournament to air, it's pretty obvious it's going to be at the end of the year, between 28-31 December most likely. It's very clear at this point that they're planning on showcasing highlights for all 39 tournaments before 40's air date to commemorate the 40th tournament. They started with Sasuke 1 on the 25th anniversary (Sept 27) so about 6 weeks ago, and currently we're at Sasuke 15 (less than halfway), so I've pretty much lost any confidence that we're going to get an air date before late December. Touch annoying as applications opened in April as opposed to August-October for the last few tournaments, though if this means the additional time for selection process results in a few new promising/breakout rookies then I can forgive this. If it's like 10 new randos who fail the Dragon Glider, with the rest being 20% veterans and 70% comedians/celebrities like 39 then honest fuuuuck them making us wait 8 months in silence for the same sh!t all over again.
Anyway, what do you think?
